Guess the next character!

We have a week until the magazine is out. I hope someone will leak out the scans soon and I hope it will be no one would expect to return. Kano and Quan Chi were pretty given since they were still alive after MK9 and the ending at MK9 left things off with Quan Chi, and Shinnok.

Fixed. 8)

Quan Chi?
Yes, he was obvious, due to the end of MK9, as was Raiden.

Kano?
Not so obvious, IMO.

Kano came out of left field, for me, as much as Sheeva being in MKX would be out of left field.
Regardless of whether he was live at the end of MK9, or not, Kano had no major story parts in MK9 that ever lead me to believe that he would be in MKX.
I don't see how being alive in MK9 automatically = being in MKX.
They could just as well get a cameo where they get killed off, which I hope that Sheeva does in MKX.

That'd actually be kinda cool. It could give Goro a reason to be good.

And I like the idea of "Kotal Kahn's Colisuem". That'd be a badass arena.

You're right.
It could very well be motivation for Goro turning good.
It would be a good angle. :)
I would prefer more of a Great Kung Lao type of return being the reason for Goro to join the Forces Of Light, similar to Kung Lao's ending in MK4, though.

I had more in mind that Kotal inherits the Coliseum, once he takes the vacated throne, but yeah a new Coliseum would also be cool to see.
It seems that the people of Outworld, not unlike the early Romans, enjoy watching death battles. ;)

Speaking of which:
What if some of the captured characters in the MKX Outworld Civil War story are forced to fight to the death, much like the gladiators in the old times?

Kano is the most iconic henchman of all MK.
The title of most iconic villain belongs to Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung or Quan Chi.

Aside from that, though, nothing about MK9 hinted at Kano coming back just like nothing about MK9 also hints at Sheeva coming back.
Kano is as much of a shock to me as any of the other living MK9 characters that weren't hinted at being in MKX.

Johnny and Sonya wouldn't be a shock, to me, given Cassie and the ending of MK9 where those 2 and Raiden clean up the mess on EarthRealm and bury the dead that was caused from Kahn's invasion.
Raiden and Quan Chi weren't a shock to me because those 2 were also painfully obvious.

You mean the Great Kung Lao making a return? I'd be so happy if that happened. A Goro and Great Kung Lao partnership would be a force to be reckoned with

That's what I thought you meant. And that'd be pretty awesome if they were made to fight to the death. But isn't that what Shao Kahn was doing the whole time? In the background of his Coliseum, there's some dudes battling a giant monster. So they're probably pretty use to watching violent battles to the death.

If there's a new sub boss, then maybe they could be forced to fight him to the death.

Yeah.
The Great Kung Lao or another descendant squashing the beef with Goro, and both of them joining Raiden and the Forces Of Light would be cool to see.

True. I'm just wondering if Kotal Kahn will continue in that tradition in the same Coliseum or have a new one built in his honor.

That would be cool too. ;)

I think we need 3-4 old characters and the rest should be new, fresh characters. The next character could be from Earthrealm or Edenia. My bet is on Jax. I thought that Kenshi could be the next but since he was a DLC on the previous game BUT a fan favourite (which is pretty complicated) I place my bet on Jax.

Tune in next week to see Ed Boon and John Tobias marriage, live on ESPN (jk :bird: )

Kano is one of the most iconic villains in the MK series. I think him coming back was not a big surprise to me.

Kano coming back wasn't a surprise for me either, BUT showing what they've done with his character...that was the Shocker! They really put some thought into him. So me personally i would love to see the Character sneak by and survive again, because that's what he does. but if he was to be killed off, I just hope he going down fighting!

That's all i want for Xmas LMAO!

I don't agree about Kano being pointless in the story of MK9.

Baraka, Reptile and Sheeva were POINTLESS there. They never did anything but to serve as boxing toys for other characters. Nothing about them was ever developed. Kano however did have some plot importance here and there:
- His conflit with Sonya and Jax was major in the first tournament;
- Kano sold weapons to Shao Kahn's army, which would be used for the later invasion;
- Kano rescued and helped to heal Kabal and gave his hookswords which are his trademarks.

These are hardly of no importance in terms of storyline and are conveniently forgotten in some arguments.
Again, it seems to me people simply follow this logic: I don't really like Kano = Kano does nothing to the story.

Kung Lao is next. I did just read article from finnish game magazine Pelaaja that he will return much older. Cant provide any pics since I am not home. Only that I can quickly say his hat has multiple sharp edges and is a bit different this time.

Interesting and unexpected! If he's older, guess that means he's returned to life? Hope you're able to give us some pics soon!

Meh.

Please scans or anything as soon as you can! And thank you for the info.
