Great Blizzard of 2011

We got more snow tonight, I can't believe it, man, I hate winter. Weatherman called for up to 5cm but I looked out my window and can barely see outside, there is so much snow falling.

GTFO WINTER

I can't compare with you guys and your snow, but a few nights ago it was about 30 degrees, low 40's maybe. That may seem warm to you guys, but when you've lived in Vegas your entire life, 40 degrees might as well have been the North ****ing Pole. I actually ran home from my friends house it was so cold.

Well it finally thawed out here. It's 61 degrees right now. The ice on the stairs outside my apartment melted yesterday just in time for the delivery of my new couch. Thank goodness. Can you imagine trying to get a couch up those icy stairs?

Sub-Zero Wins... Fatality

I had to drive in that shit, it was hell. So many people were crashing, roads were blocked off. Then again, I live in the city who has the most accidents in Canada (Brampton), so I shouldve expected that.

Finally a day with no snow :) Had another few more inches yesterday on top of the 15 inches Tuesday

Finally a day where Chicago gets hit and we don't :)

Ugh it's slick as shit out there too today. what a day to be walking thru the side streets in Chicago. I should have brought a shovel to make my journey back home easier.

Now it's the great Chill of 2011, going to reach -5F here tonight.

Here's a video I did of boiling water evaporating into thin air.

Also yes I'm well aware some water fell to the ground as were my bare wet got feet that some of the water, but the majority of it evaporated. Here's another two videos I made this morning, maybe you'll see the difference a bit better.

Boiling Water in Cold Temperature Air, most of it evaporates as the larger the temperature difference the faster the cold air reacts with it.

Cold Water in Cold Temperature Air, no evaporation. The water actually sticks together into larger droplets, almost no spray at all.

Yes, if you try it again with water at normal room T°, you won't have this effect.
The boiling water molecules have enough energy for them to transform into a gas vapor instantly when you are shocking them with a huge T° variation (while substracting the totality of the heat energy). And that's what you did :), very fun to watch.
It's even more impressive when you see ice cubes vaporizing directly without going through the liquid state (it's called sublimation).

lol you guys from the north are nuts, bare wet feets in a T° like that. Here we put like 3 pairs of socks and 2 pair of shoes before going out in times so cold.

I did post a video of cold a bit below temperature water not doing that, scroll up. Instead it groups together more and almost no spray if I had done that in the summer.

Bare feet your NUTS!!!

I was standing inside my house with the back patio door open shooting water out into the back yard. Some water got on my feet and when I was near the back door it was quite cold. I'm crazy just not THAT crazy. ;)

Down here in colorado we have no snow, but its 30 degrees below zero!

You spoke too soon considering what we got a few days ago, although its been nice the last two days and were going to reach teh 60's for a few days, enough to melt all this crap away. This concerns me for March seeing how its our worse month for snow and were due to get hammered.
