Goro DLC

If you can beat both Goro & Kintaro as a tag team with 1 player, they are not overpowered characters, Shao Kahn however, is an absolute pile of shit overpowered character. :)

Agree with all previous comments though, i'm quite happy without being able to play as them.
 
I would like to see Goro, Kintaro and Shao Kahn all as DLC playable characters. I've heard they were originally going to be playable anyway. All they would really need to do is make their playable version weaker, like they already did with Shang Tsung. It shouldn't be too hard to do.
 
I really dont see why they wont or havnt, goro is in challange tower playable, they all have fatalitys and ENDINGS but you have to look those up.. all they gotta do is get rid of the hit dont count armor that they get in Single player and they would be perfectly playable and beatable imo.
 
also I really dont get what people are upset by the idea I can beat goro and kintaro with only geting hit one or two times on expert.. khan on the other hand I totally understand...
 
IMO, Bosses can be playable offline, not online .....

if online, so, people who are now complaining about Smoke teleport spam, Scorpion hellfire, Kung Lao crazy combos and Cyrax Bomb trap, will just hate NRS if they allow super cheap and overpowered bosses as Kintaro, Goro and Shao Kahn, as normal options in online play ...... Kintaro is so cheap in Expert with his triple fire ball, fire breath just in the right moment and air thrown, damn it ! And Shao Kahn is a cheater, with moves that can take priority over almost everything else in the game .....

Basically, summarizing : any concerns on unfair moves of a normal character, can just fade out and looks more "acceptable ", if compared with all advantages bossess have, as playable character.

A typical boss, has moves that cause much more damage, they have more endurance against normal hits, and some explicity frame advantage moves .... after all, they are bosses for a reason : make hard to be beaten.

The only way to them , to be fair , it's being downgraded to the same damage system the normal characters do/receive, but, if this is done, so the bosses end to be equal of normal characters, and this take off all that intimidating aura .....

If Goro receive and cause the same amount of damage as Smoke, who could fear Goro Online ? Nobody, in fact people would enjoy to rip Goro's players to shreds ....
 
A boss is a boss because they are unbalanced. Nobody wants to play as an unbalanced boss. It would get very old playing as them the first few times because all you would do and basically can do is spam their special moves to win every time, so you would have to nerf them. Balancing them, to me, is an oxymoron, because you're missing the point of them being bosses by balancing them like the regular kombatants. Bosses should never be playable, and Goro, Kintaro, and Shao Kahn are not excluded from that.
 
When the games roster had yet to be released I had quite liked the idea of maining Goro, assuming he'd be a slow powerhouse with grabs and hard to hit high damage combo's, but....

I hear in hacked versions of the game he, Kintaro and Shao Kahn all have move lists etc, so it does seem likely that they were to be playable, at least at some stage.

I've thought about the idea that with some tweaking these boss characters could play a role similar to the Giant characters in TvC, in other words, they would take up both slots in a tag team match.

They want to go back to the roots, back then bosses wren't playable. The only way they were playable, if you used a code or you played MKT.

It would be much fun and far too.
 
Haha, some of the replies make me laugh, outright refusal as if they are somewhere in the chain of command at NRS :)

I just wouldn't want any of the Bosses AS THEY ARE, to be playable.

Their playable version can always be made less powerful. Don't forget Shang Tsung is a boss too and even his playable version is less powerful, since he can only morph into his opponent then. As a boss, he can morph into anyone.
 
If they are playable NRS would NEVER confirm it unless someone discovered there are. I wanna play as bosses DLC or not.

Maybe it's just me but I don't really consider him a sub-boss (other than of course in MK1). I think of him as the only playable character you don't fight in a randomized order (like he'll always be right before the actual bosses); I remember Scorpion would pretty much always be before the secret fight/Shang Tsung in MK2 and of course he isn't a boss. And playing against either version of Shang isn't the same to me as playing against Goro, Kintaro or Shao Kahn. Unlike them, you could perform a fatality on Shang Tsung and didn't approach like you would Shao Kahn or Goro/Kintaro/Motaro. That's why I don't consider him a boss (not just him, same thing with Quan Chi in MK4).
 
Shang Tsung is not a boss anymore, he only was in MK1, no is just a boring playable characters.

I take the "NOT PLAYABLE BOSSES" initiative. We already have sheeva that has goro's stomp and kintaro's fire, and is the lamest character in my opinion and the least used character of the game, so why do people wano goro and kintaro? and kahn, he is a green bluring cheater with one of the most boring movesets.

All of this is my opinion.
