Gamespot's MK vs. DC Preview

Well let's have a quick synopsis then:

No "instant-kill" stage fatalities. There might be traditional end-of-round stage fatals.

Not an M-Rated game.

There will be finishing moves, but they will not be fatalities.

There's a good mix of good and bad guys on both sides.

Everyone looks awesome.

There's klose kombat sequences that act like little boxing matches with one character on offensive (I'm guessing these are like interactive "throws").

There will be mid-air kombat as characters fall similar to the klose kombat mechanic.

There are 2 sides to the storyline experienced from the perspective of each universe.

Superman is weak against magic. Who knew?

overall still not impressed. Theyre going to lose alot of MK fans as well as DC fans and new younger fans probably wont care since they have no clue who 90% of the charactes are besides batman and superman

It has not been explicitly stated that there will be no fatalities. Boon said there would be finishers of some kind, but that they may not be called fatalities. Not that I emphasized the word "may". Nothing is set in stone as of yet.
 
Jeary your just one of those people that it is pointless talking or even debating with. Your opinion of why you hate MK8 thus far have no detail as to WHY other than the fact you just keep saying old school MK is better....wow thanks man...really deep explanation.

For real you need to act your age and not your shoe size. There is a reason people like "constructive" criticism...because it makes sense and has a detailed explanation to it.

Nothing against you man but to me it's like you are just saying no to anything MK8 just to say no. If you want to play MKII gameplay so bad please...take a trip to Gamestop and purchase Midway Arcade Classics and go in peace.

have you watched the video or read the reviews, or even watched the interview?

Theres no fatalities, barely any blood, no stage fatalities, friggin superman is here, THIS IS NOT MORTAL KOMBAT.


Even Boon still couldnt explain how he balanced out anyone fighting superman. Magic? Is that serious, so now hes totally changing around supermans story.

The worst part is that boon actually seems to believe it all of this.

You do realize that a good 9/10 MK fans are crying, *****ing, complaining, etc....

This is not what anyone expected and it is not a pleasant surprise.

With Armageddon, its like we had a hot girl and then realized she had a crappy personality when the gameplay was average and fatalities sucked.

Here we have an ugly broad and maybe if were lucky shell have a good personality.

The Joker vs Superman. Thats a joke.

This game might be amazing gameplay wise, but it still will suck and undersell and they couldve just done another mk exclusive game and it wouldve been a greatest hits again just like the past 3.
 
I dont remember him saying no fatalities. Just no stage fatalities.

Also as a fighting game, its up to the guys powers and moves to win in a fight. Not the fact that superman can beat someone down with one punch. How in the world does he stay in the comic books if he can defeat people so easy and not get hurt?
 
I already watched that....Jeff said there arent any fatalities...but there are some kind of finishing moves. At least we have that right? I mean some of the fatalities were kind of dumb anyway, and unless you knew the codes by heart, you would never use them anyway.
 
Yeah i mean for the people that are asking all the questions.... Oh yeah i was kind of responding to you but i got sidetracked sorry. Yeah there will be finishers, but i doubt they will be the same as fatalities. I don't know after watching the interview and the trailer i'm actually starting to warm-up to this idea.
 
Same here...after the initial rage of it not being a real MK game, im starting to calm down and take it for what its worth. It can still be good.
 
It looks fantastic (graphics wise), but the fighting looks clunky like the last installment. I want SPEED. That's what MK was all about, but what would be really cool is if they do have certain characters that do certain things. Something to balance out like.... flash (if he is in the game.) That way there are so many combinations of gameplay. I don't know i think i might actually buy this even though i was one of the ones *****ing on all of the forums.

lol rage? Reminds me of those noob.com updates, perhaps Boon expected us to take the news this way. =P

From my understanding from the GameSpot preview, there will be finishing moves, but no one will die as a result of them, hence they can't be called fatalities.
