friendships potentiall in the game?

But knowing that the fact that friendships are in take away the feel.

:???: Friendships will take away from the feel of the game?

...So Friendships would hurt a game set in the golden age of Mortal Kombat? Gee, I thought that's what Kratos was doing.

There's nothing wrong with throwing a few small jokes into a game that's already super dark and serious. The Mortal Kombat series always had humor. Why should this be any different? I thought we wanted classic MK.

I disagree. With this technology they can make them 10x better. They should add extra humor like Sub taking and an ice cream cone for you and then shoves it in your face. Stryker could do his MK3 one except blow his whistle again for them to stop and have them jump you...lol You get the humor and violence all in one.

I wanna friendships, mk is not all about blood, its about 90% seriusness and 10% silliness.

Agreed. And +rep to you, sir. Mk has always had humor in it, and probably always will. I don't see how including friendships in a reboot of the series would RUIN the feel of it. I'm all for the friendships being a little violent too. Like what someone said about having the people stryker was directing jump you. That'd be hilarious after a match.

I mean like it wiill take the darkness off the game. And yes Kratos is the one who really is taking the feel of the game. But that joke is WAY to far and I don't like it.
And I am pretty sure we kan do the klassic MK without the friendships.

I just don't understand. If you don't like comedy in Mortal Kombat, don't perform Friendships. It's simple.

But the fact is, humor is part of Mortal Kombat. REMOVING the comedic side of the series would be taking something away from the game.

You feel that friendships would take away from the "darkness" of the game, yet at the same time you were a huge supporter of Liu Kang's ridiculous "turkey voice"? A shaolin monk screaming like a ****ing retard doesn't take away from the "darkness"?

Ughh hate to say it but your right. I just damn hope people don't do it to me online>:l.
If they do have friendships, I hope they are good enough as everything else in MK9, otherwise I would be pissed.

Actually, no I don't. I heard that the noise he does is the most powerful noise to make in martial arts. Plus, I take it serious kause Bruce Lee had it too.

I completely agree. Kabal's Scream Fatality from MK3 is still one of my favorite Fatalities ever, and probably one of the most famous ones, and it's not remembered for its goriness. Same thing is true of Cage's Split Punch.

I get that dark, violent and gory is a big part of this series, but it's ALWAYS had hints of humor. I think spicing it with some humor gives it variety and breaks up the monotony of the dark atmosphere, which is extremely welcome.

I believe Friendships will be in.

Im all for friendships. Seeing Liu Kang dance with a disco ball after beating people online is always a riot. Then proceeding to cut somebody else in half with Reptile was just badass. So i dont see why we couldnt have friendships to go along with fatalities. As many others have stated, this game is a throwback to the classic years of MK. Friendships were in two out of the three games this game is based on, so itd be a huge disappointment imo if they were left out. Plus theyd be optional. Dont do them if you dont like them.

Absolutely. I'm tired of people complaining about things they don't have to use. Friendships are optional, so is the Fatality practice mode...If you don't like them you don't have to use them.

MK1 - The game that launched Mortal Kombat on the scene. There was nothing funny in this game. Unless you consider the nut punch a knee slapper.

MK2 - Introduced Friendships. Funny the first time you see them. Did not fit the dark atmosphere of the bloody sequel. Took up memory in the system that could have been used for more characters and/or fatalities.

UMK3 - Even the fatalities suffered from the " hey Mortal Kombat is that silly fighting game " syndrome that it contracted between MK1 and MK3. Pearly-white bones and rib cages replaced intestines and bloodied body parts of the darkness that was MK2. 5 legs and 3 arms bounced around after a fatality like bouncy balls in the toy dept. at Wal-Mart. THEN there were the God-awful Animalities. Laughable but not because they were intended to be so.

I couldn't care less if there are clown noses and sock puppets in MK 2011. If Friendships are, in fact, in there then so be it. But if I were given a choice as to whether I wanted a 3rd fatality for my favorite fighters or to have my favorite guy/gal throw a creme pie in someone's face, I'll take the fatality any day.

And for all those saying " Just don't use the Friendships if you don't like them! " This was the same argument that was used during the Kratos wars that took place a month or so ago and was argued as an unacceptable alternative. ;)

@ R-Matt - Leave it to you to turn this thread into a Kratos debate!!!! LMFAO I'm calling Chuck Norris to come to your house and make you sit in the naughty spot! hehe

...in the end of the interview he says no animalities or friendships, but game will keep some funny elements...so friendships kind of disconfirmed for Mk 2011? or he's just meh saying? ...

I believe he was mentioning Dan Forden and his trademarked Toasty.
And of course, there's also JC's infamous move. So yeah, I think it's true.

I was watching the MKcast over again and at 8:59 - they go throw Kahns arena and if you pause at that time, you can see speakers

Now it might be like something the program shows that you insert background music (similar to Little Big Planet) what do you guys think?

The only way your post could have something to do with friendships is if you are giving the impression that the speakers may be used in a friendship....which you haven't really made clear...so, yeah, I have no idea what your post has to do with the title of your topic. Can you explain? Your title is fine but your post doesn't make much sense....

He's posted the picture in another thread before. He thinks that the speakers are part of a friendship.

I agree 100% with this. Friendships is part of the classic MKs. I'll not really feel bad if they're left out, but I'll certainly be happy if they are in.
