First 3 DLC characters announced in Gamepro magazine:

hrm; this story takes an interesting turn with @awesome99's comments - wonder if NRS will respond to it...

Perhaps far fetched but maybe it is info that someone wasn't suppose to let out so they are trying to cover it up.

Ehhh, I don't know, but what an interesting turn of events.

Who is @awesome99 anyway? I have Hec and Rigo's twitter, but I don't know who that is.

I think with the renders and everything...it's pretty hard to deny the legitimacy of this leak. I think any attempt to claim it false by a team member is strictly for coverup.

Maybe this awesome99 person took the picture himself and it accidentally got leaked, so he tried to cover it up? :P

If anyone wants the magazine image where it shows that this is 100% true just PM me and I'll send it to you. This is not a joke even though it would be funny if it was lol. Its not though its already printed for in the magazine.

It can't be false. I've seen the picture, a picture which is from the actual page of the magazine in someones hand. It's real, awesome99 is just saying that in hopes of making us think it's false.

In fact, yeah, there is a chance that this "3 DLC announcement" could be fake, false : Ed Boon knows pretty well that fans are demanding for Rain being the very first #1 option for DLC .... people bother him constantly in Twitter about releasing Rain, and so, Ed maybe is not a stupid person : he knows that Rain has a huge fan-base background appeal, so, in order to please fans, and guarantee a well sold of DLC package, surely Ed and NRS could be planning to release Rain in the first DLC package ......

The existence of the magazine scans is irrelevant. Gamepro lost its credibility over ten years ago. I don't trust this information, even if they do have some dev. artwork. Like I said, the fact that the artwork exists is not determinative of who will be in the first DLC pack. I also wouldn't put a lot of credit into the demo spoilers. That info could be outdated, or the NRS team could change things to counteract the leak. The only thing worth believing is official announcements. Therefore, Rain still has a shot of being in the game, and Cyber Sub Zero, at this point, is just a rumor.

Dude. The renders are RENDERS. Exactly the same as any render of any character we've seen so far. No one has the tools to make a NRS style character but NRS, and that's what those renders are. Undoubtedly.

Who cares if the scans exist. It's possible that the artwork was used for something else by the NRS team (or not used at all). I'm not disputing the fact that the artwork came from NRS. But that sole fact does not necessarily add credibility to Gamepro's report about DLC.

I can see your point, but...Well, the magazine will be released soon enough, so we'll see. I don't think they could've pulled those renders and information out of their asses without some help from the NRS team.

I think the OP from MKO is wrong - they say these are the "first three kombatants", and that this is the "first batch of DLC"; I'm looking at the scan, and I don't see that anywhere. It's amusing that no one's bothered to actually read the opening paragraph in the scan. It reads:

"Developers are increasingly using downloadable content to extend the life of their games. Mortal Kombat is no different, as NetherRealm Studios has secret characters - both familiar and not - coming to the game postrelease. And we're revealing three of them..."

Unless there is other information I don't know about, this is an example of misinterpretation IMO. These are most likely just three DLC characters of however many that they've decided to reveal. I haven't seen any proof that these are in fact the first three.

And yes, the scan is real. Stop with the denial already guys.

No one is disputing the legitimacy of the scans... Anyways, while you bring up a good point, we also don't know what the previous page(s) of the article state.

i'm seeing this as a chance for rain having a chance of making the cut. i don't need anyone elses opinion, this is the first time it seems rain has a chance and i'm going to keep my hopes up

You are all forgetting that MK has had false info in magazine spreads before. W/ Pics BTW. Remember Nimbus Terrafaux? I call BS on this, why you ask? Well Kenshi...that is so random. Lady in Red still doesn't have a name, yeah right. Kintaro also random to make playable since there is no info on Goro being playable yet or not, unless I'm mistaken.
