Exclusive content confirmed by hans lo ...

Unless Microsoft pays NRS for exclusive content, the 360 isn't going to get exclusive content. This isn't about what's fair. This about business. NRS isn't going to pay employees to develop content and then release it on only one platform for half the revenue when they can release it on both, unless someone (MS) is writing them a check to make up for the loss of the Sony sales. The cries of butthurt fans don't keep the lights on and systems running at NetherRealm Studios.

how are you paying more for less is not the same price kratos is not equal to say we got more when we both know that we got an equal amount of exclusive

the demo was not an exclusive 3d is not an exclusive that like saying your online is exclusive its part of the system its not part of the game. you get avatar in koh and avatar clothes we got kratos and a level i see its equal.

*Face palm*

Exclusive = Exclusive EXCLUSIVE.

We're talking about content that may not be exclusive to the system, but for a period of time until brought over. Which in business would have been smarter. Because NRS will suffer sales on this game due to it. You can try and defend it all you want, the casual consumer is going to tell you to go jump over a bridge, you can't say "Well how come?"

They could have had a silly mode that meant nothing ANYTHING, it doesn't have to be character or stage. It doesn't have to be EXCLUSIVE exclusive. IT should make up for paying more for less.

Seriously never in my past have I bought two copies of the same game to get less content. [for two seperate systems] It's insane and rediculous.

That's what people are arguing, and people keep going "it's just business." That's not going to stop a casual from turning down a sale or waiting for it to go as used. Then you know what? Nobody can blame the casuals, they can only blame the bad marketing and business decision. NRS will get punched in sales numbers.

You can't convince a coke drinker to go for Pepsi, same will happen here.

You get a demo, a stage, a character.

A standard character and stage in DLC is 5.00.

So let's add this up:

A [PS3 version] + EC [Kratos/Demo/Stage] (5.00)= 60.00 at which if it were DLC would be 65.00. Thus you pay for more content.

B [360 version] + [Avatar support] Avatars are already free, so let's replace that with the word "Free support." = 60.00 at the cost of 60.00 worth of content.

So A=65, B = 60.

That's equal?

Edit: Don't try and tell me adding Avatar implemation takes as long or takes as much data as adding in a character model which has to be balanced [even if banned or broken], X-ray, fatalities, stage, and more. That's just silly.

Is there really a point arguing over this again? All that is going to come out of this is repeated arguments and another locked thread.

My mind is officially blown with the way this thread is going.

This is how i rationalize it.

NRS makes a product. Karacters, kontent, online etc. All the bells and whistles of a full fledged AAA title sold for $60.

They make a game for 2 separate competing companies. One company wants to see more on its konsole to take sales and gain a competitive advantage. That company says, "what can we do to increase sales and make OUR version the one people will want more?"

O I KNOW, PAY NRS A SHITLOAD OF CASH TO INCLUDE A COMPANY EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY THAT THE FANS OF SAID COMPANY WILL TRULY APPRECIATE AND HAVE SOMETHING TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT. SOMETHING TO SET IT APART FROM THE COMPETITION.

NRS didn't do this out of the kindness of their hearts or because they prefer Sony of Microsoft or because they don't like 360 users. Its a business and SONY made a move and used ITS OWN RESOURCES PAYED FOR BY SONY CUSTOMERS to purchase additional perks and access for its users.

Think of it as investing in a company. Company A decided to pay its investors dividends and company B decided to save money and not reward its investors. It was a better choice (in this particular case) in investing in company A because they are rewarding their customers.

On a non-theoretical note I can't believe you would deprive yourself of this wonderful game with HOURS OF KONTENT just because someone else got a little bit more???? You didn't lose anything, you just didn't gain extra.

your not even adding in the clothes and the exclusive avatar clothes ya that is equal the demo was not even exclusive it was given to both microsoft chose not to put it out so ya it is equal and kratos will not give no were near 2-3 hours of game play may be 20 min at the most
you said avatars are free well so is kratos that dont fly

Those are KB models.

Kratos alone makes up MBs. Which means 1000 KB. Let's assume most of those avatar clothes take up 32-100 KB per model. You'd have to have tons of them.

Also don't talk about standard avatar clothes outside of the MK game those can be implemented like soundtracks can. At no cost to the producer or developer.

Wrong Sony subsidized this extra content for its consumers.

I think you're missing the point that the reason PS3 players are paying the same price as 360 owners is because SONY paid NRS to make up for the difference. NRS didn't just sit there and make Kratos and put him in the game as a gift to PS3 fans. When you buy a game you're paying the developers who spent 2 years creating it. Sony paid the NRS devs to spend extra time making Kratos. MS did not pay for anything clearly. You can only blame MS, not NRS.

thank you. . . . .

they still made them so you cant say its not equal kb or mb they still made them and spent the time implant them in to king of the hill mode the avatars may be free but if you didnt have the code "Kratos has a code" you would not have the avatar clothing would you

Yes, and when you go to Pizza hut and order a large pizza with no extra you expect to pay less. While someone who wants extra toppings pays more.

There are discounts though that happen at times like "buy three toppings pay same price as 1 Regular large pizza" but there is no "chance time."

Again, if a man has both consoles and buys either, both consoles should equate to the same amount of content in the end. Regardless of what it is. Adding in Puzzle Kombat would have took little time, just like Chess or other modes that could have been ported. People still would have been like "Well I didn't get a character or extra stage, but I did get this."

Now they see LiR/Kenshi "So I have to pay more, while the PS3 owner pays for less." The casual will look at this, and go buy another fighitng game.

Give me one example of another fighting game series that has done such a thing to one consoles base.

I think this is more about venting than about who's right or who's wrong. PS3 got more content / 360 didn't, Yes they have the right to be pissed and especially since it was hinted that the 360 console would get additional content as well. I think many people understand Sony paid for the content, but it doesn't mean 360 users shouldn't be mad about it. They have every right to. But whats annoying are the PS3 peeps that simply imply that 360 users accept it and shut up. It's their right to be mad about it.

Dude... You're acting like NRS is doing this deliberately to be mean to Xbox fans. SONY PAID FOR KRATOS TO BE IN THE GAME. The reason the games cost the same is because SONY PAID TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE so Sony gamers wouldn't have to and their version would have something extra. If Sony didn't pay, Kratos would not be in there, and the game would still be 60 dollars regardless.

But I do remember NRS stating "Everyone will get something they're happy with." Which is a bit misleading...

This. The person who reserves MK isn't forced to buy the game. They can buy another quality fighting game. There are plenty out there. That's the big problem people miss.

No other fighting game has done such a thing with exclusives. Not the rip-off artists Capcom or Namco. Yet PS3 defenders go "well it's just business." Then it's just casual purchasers and XB360 fans rights to say "screw NRS" and put their money down on another fighting game or game in general "I don't need this gam, when there are far more fish in the sea"

The last part is what makes it such a big topic. They didn't just mislead people, they acted like 360 fans were going to get something just as pleasant. Even if it wasn't an exclusive character. [which we all knew, they stated that ahead of time.]

The thing I'm potraying is a casual's view. Do they care that Sony paid for more content? No. They care about their own experience. To them, "I'm getting ripped off, because I'm not getting the same amount of general content. No bells no whistles to make up for it. " Then they respond by saying "I'll just wait until it is used, or go buy another fighting game that won't pull this ****."

Like I said I'm buying both games. However, I again understand why the general casual and enraged 360 consumer will be PO'd at this. Can you really blame them?

These days, gaming is meant to be "You pay for the best amount with the cheapest buck." This is far from the same case.

but they are mad at the wrong people they need to be mad at microsoft not sony or nrs.

sony put up the money microsoft didnt be mad at microsoft

in retail they have set prices for every if you pay for a pizza you pay for what you get be it more or less.

that is bs you guys did get stuff that nrs still took time to make and well here we are you guys get shafted by microsoft and blame sony thats what i dont get

how would you get the clothes with out the code that unlocks it would you not hve to pay for it

I don't think casual gamers will even understand the differences in the two versions, or care. A casual gamer who owns only a 360 has probably never even played a God of War game, and they certainly don't sit around reading gaming forums or investing interest in behind the scenes deals. This is the most stuffed full fighting game I've ever seen, and well worth the 60 bucks even without one extra little angry fan appeasing whistle.
