Ed Boon hints Rain and Reiko as DLC.. (Maybe)

Microsoft will see to it that DLC costs money, they did it with Valve, they'll do it with MK.

Anyway, I can't believe how rude some people get at the lack a certain characters, (I'm talking about the Twitter guy).
They made this great game, but left out 2 characters and this guy is like **** you and **** your team?

Booty son, just booty.

Yeah, entitlement leads to some real freak-outs sometimes. Favorite character(s) or not, that's getting kinda overly worked up...
 
Am I imagining things, or do the DLC characters seem to have a link to the Story Mode?

Skarlet and Kenshi have been confirmed already, and both are mentioned in Story Mode (well, Skarlet can be seen in various cutscenes, and Kenshi is actually mentioned by Shang.)

Both have also been spotted on the far bridge in the Pit stage.

Following that 'logic' (I know, I know, I'm reaching here..), Reiko is mentioned in the same sentence as Kenshi in Story Mode, and is also visible on the same bridge in the Pit sometimes.

Quite honestly, and this might upset some people, but I believe Reiko being DLC at some point is a higher probability as Rain. At least he's mentioned and even visible.

Just my 2 cents

I dont think that their linked to the story mode.
I think that those DLC are just for fun or should I say just for fans? They include a DLC system to cater the needs of the player. Like Ed already know way before that Rain is very popular and highly demand by those die hard fans of Rain. And Ed said that they're going back to the roots. It's impossible to go back w/o Rain. So that's why Ed set's up Rain as a DLC to tease Rain fanatics. (wow! I think my message goes off topic.)

By the way.. Rain can be seen in the Cathedral. (same custome like MKA)
 
I will only be happy if he's design is the closest possible to this.

That just seems too much like a quasi-ninja wannabe. Reiko was never a ninja to my knowledge, he more along the lines of a heavy-hitting warrior and I think his later portrayal did that more justice. I think a blend of the two looks would be spot-on. He's not a ninja, but he's not Kahn either.

Microsoft cant tell you how much to charge for DLC its the publishers or the higher ups decision
 
Where Xbox 360 is concerned, and if my facts are correct, Microsoft has a policy in place that allows developers only ONE free DLC release. TF2 sees regular content updates on PC and Epic originally wanted to release GoW1 DLC for free, but M$ prevents devs from doing things like that. Terrible policy if you ask me.

That was his first design, so this is what Reiko really is. Because his outfit ressembles the Ninjas, doesn't mean he's portraited like a Ninja, he doesn't even uses a mask. What came after this is what's wrong.
Just like they did with the 50 Cent Cyrax.

Exactly, he's portrayed as a heavy-hitter so I feel like he should have a look to match. His MK4 look doesn't mesh with his character in my opinion.

Agreed. Never thought reiki was too cool.I wasn't good with him in mk4...so that might be why I feel this way

Actually, Epic did release GoW1 DLC for free; it had Future Weapons (that old TV show) sponsor them, and as such those first 3-4 maps were released for free.

Likewise, Monday Night Combat just got a new DLC map pack for free.

If I remember right, there are two main factors in determining if DLC will be free or not:

1) Acheivements. IF there are any acheivements at all, kiss Free goodbye, cuz it's not happening. with two characters, I doubt there will be many acheivements involved.

2) Money up front. A developer has to give so much money in order to let the Fans get the DLC free, which is why it almost never happens; most Developers are just in it for the cash, and it's a rare one that will give up hard earned money to please the fans. Of course they could get sponsored, but again, not many people are going to give up money for a game.

I'm pretty sure #2 is why Boon said "DLC will be free if the game sells well enough"; have to have the money to pay of M$ to make it free for us.

Reiko's armageddon outfit is awful, if comes as DLC he needs his MK4 outfit but more detailed, there is never enough ninjas anyway i dont consider him a ninja.

I may add that IMO, Reiko is really boring is another generic guy with generic energy powers...

RAIN: Awesome! If this is true, I'll finally get to have a Nightwolf/Rain Tag team. Lightning FTW!
REIKO: I've always been a semi-fan for Reiko, And since the chances are High that he'll be in the Next game, (And since Kenshi & Reiko were in the MK2 Tournament) I'll love to buy him AND Kenshi.
 
Man Reiko's MK4 shows agility on him. He don't to be overhauled. I think he is an agile warrior. He's moves are too cool for him to buffed like Kahn. Ever wonder if his body is overhauled and doing a flip kick or a teleport slam? I love his MK4 costume, but I want a little twist about it. Like Shoulder spikes or pads, but not too big.
