I'd actually find it cool if the title of MK10 is "MKX" or "Mortal Kombat: X". The "X" would mean a lot to me and I think you guys know what I mean.

MK has never gone by roman numerals and it never should.
No shit dingus, that's why I edited my post less than a minute after I made it.
I've always thought the Deadly Alliance logo was meant to be a stylish V

That video has always been awesome and that stage is one of my favorites of all time.
But which date is Boon counting down to?
As much as I want it to be, I can't imagine it'll be Next Gen only.
Especially if they started working on it as soon as/before Injustice finished.

This.
Considering that most people still have PS3 and 360, if they were working on the new game since Injustice finished and that the library for PS4 and X1 are both still lacking and weak, I believe that it will be cross-gen too.
This is the very reason why I suggested (about 8 months ago) that an action-adventure game would be good, so that it would be cross-gen and buy NRS more time until more people got next-gen consoles for MK10, and everyone shat on that idea and poo poo'ed me for it.
An action-adventure game would allow for the next-gen market to catch up, if they want to go the next-gen only route.
Otherwise, cross-gen is the way to go, to maximize profits from ALL sales.
Next-gen only isn't going to generate as much cash for them in 2014 / 2015.
Exactly, and as much as they want to maximize profits, they're also going to get shat on for all in likely making the versions indifferent, except for graphics capabilities.
Exactly, but as a developer they risk losing lots of fans if they don't make it cross-gen, considering that not everyone has a PS4 or X1 by now.
That's one 1 the problems that you face when releasing a new game, at the beginning of a console cycle.
The first few games of a console cycle are likely to be the same, anyways, considering that lots of people haven't switched over.
That was the same issue with MGSV: GZ (among others).
Do you get the cross-gen game on the console that you have, or do you buy a $400 new console for it?
As a consumer, my choice is obvious.
I'm going to get it on the console that I currently have, rather than to shell out the $400.
