DLC Fatalities

Let me first make a disclaimer that No, I have no problem with DLC, DLC Fatalities, or NRS making money. I don't. People need to eat, and money lets people eat, I get that.

What I don't get, is why in a "Fanservice" game, are the Iconic Fatalities (Scorpions Flame Breath, for instance) the ones being made DLC? I just don't think thats right, making the iconic ones, the ones that each character is known for, are the ones being made DLC....

On one hand, it's a fact that they are going to sell, but it still seems like a cheap shot to the fans.

ok...who told you on the first place that fatalities in this game going to be DLCs? ...i mean like is there an official statement for that?

Mostly the whole "Pre-order and get Scorpions Fire Breath, or Reptiles thing".

I've definately heard it, and other people have too....

Thare have been MANY times where they said they are doing a lot of dlc's i.e. characters, skins, stages, fatalities, etc. ALSO the classic fatalities are pre-order bonuses at gamestop, amazon, and bestbuy

Well, judging by you posting here you obviously have internet service. What is stopping you from making a free XBL Silver account?

...dude...LIVE service is unavailable in our country, its illegal...period...should i say more? ...and you're clearly aren't much familiar with my posts here, because if you were you'd find out i mentioned it like hundred times already...

I know lots of people in countries where live isn't supported that have gold accounts. Hell, I have a Japanese silver account on my machine that I used to download a couple demos that weren't available here. Unless the police come to your door each day making sure you aren't connected to Live... Not much is really stopping you.

...there's one easy way to stop me...BAN my hard drive so i won't be able to access it anymore...so NO! thanks i won't bother risking with my 200+ gb HDD just to get banned...

lol Microsoft isn't going to ban you

well articles and news headlines tell otherwise...can you guarantee this? will you buy me new HDD in case you won't be right? ...dude its not just something out of my head, everything's very serious believe...if i wanted i'd get LIVE long long time ago...but i just can't period...

Microsoft doesn't ban you from your hard drive ever. if you are banned from Xbox Live for custom firmware (piracy) they will corrupt all saves on your hard drive, and block you from accessing the service again. They never ban you from using your hard drive. You will just have to start over with all new save files.

And yeah, I doubt that you will be banned for having a live account that doesn't belong to your territory. I have a Japan and UK silver account on mine. I know people in countries where live isn't supported that have accounts. Microsoft might not give you any customer support if you have an issue, but they aren't going to ban you and refuse to take your $50 a year either. XBL Gold and point cards are your friend.

So yeah, unless you have custom firmware on your dvd-rom there is a 99.999999999999999999% chance you have nothing to worry about.

ok i'm tired of proving you anything read this - http://www.animenews.biz/microsoft-disables-hard-drives-on-banned-consoles-2418/

Rigo has mentioned that on the MK Twitter, that the pre-order packs will be available at a later date, meaning either DLC (99% like) or an upgraded game, the latter of which was outright denied by (I believe) Boon, stating that they can add DLC to keep folks from buying the same content again after 6 months. Remember, Boon stated in early interviews that DLC will be huge for the new MK.

I'll be spending over $400 on MK, which kind of ticks me off, to be truthful. I'm buying both KE/TE (couldn't they have had an Ultimate Edition with both at a discounted price? Say, $179.99?) and every bit of the DLC they release, which looks to trump Street Fighter IV's with its vast array of costumes, characters, and finishers.

Out of curiosity TJ, why is Xbox Live illegal in your country? And I'm surprised that you never knew until now that some classic fatalities would be DLC.

EDIT: TJ, you got it all wrong with that article bro, thats talking about Xbox finding out you have illegal mods on your system. Nowhere in that article does it say Xbox will ban your ass for having a legitimate Xbox live account. On top of that, the only two main functionalities that you lose from your hard drive is installing games and going on Xbox Live in the future. Xbox Live is apparently banned in your country anyways, and you can just play games off the disc so what do you have to lose?

...how the heck do i know? you gotta ask that our government...i wish there was a legal way to play online and download DLC content...guess you understand now why i'm praying for Sheeva to hit initial roster...

Uh, that article says exactly what I just said. You will be banned for getting caught with custom firmware on XBL. Are you on a modded Xbox or something? If not you have nothing to worry about. You will have no issues just having a XBL account that doesn't belong to your territory. Microsoft does not ban consoles for that.

I did forget if you're banned they disable installing games to the hard drive. You can still save to the hard drive though.
