Did MK scare you when you were younger?

I started playing mk around 6 years old. and boy, did it scare the crap out of me. the DUN DUN DUN before a fatality, the stage music , even the freaking stances that some of the characters had frightened me ( noobs, shang tsungs, reptile, basically all of the ninjas). ive actually only had sleep paralysis once and i could thank mk for that one lol. the dream was me standing outside of my house and in the distance i could see rain doing his freaky fighting stance he used to do in the older games. i was trying to call my mom but i couldnt even speak. i actually stopped playing mk for about 7 years cause i attributed it to giving me horrible dreams. i finally started playing mk again in like 2005 and been playing ever since. but yeah, anyone have any funny stories about how mk scared them when they were younger??

MK never scared me. I started playing MK when I was 5, and from the moment I saw the box of the game in the video store, I immediately fell in love with the game. Of course it was the SNES version of MK1, but I also played the MK arcade machine when my preschool teachers took us for a fun day at the arcade. The teachers didn't even try to stop me from playing the game because of how violent it was! I thought MKII totally rocked a year later. It was an awesome game to me!

I'm getting my little 8-going-on-9-year-old cousin in to Mortal Kombat, and despite him being obsessed with wrestling games, he thinks MK is cool. I bought him MK Armageddon for Wii for his 8th birthday, and for his 9th I'm buying him Ultimate for DS.

MK never scared me when I was younger, the blood and violence of the games just hooked me and ever since then I've always enjoyed MK.

My 5 yr. old cousin was scared of every fatality in MK:Deception. He will close his eyes whenever I perform a fatality..

Can't say that I ever was. Then again, although I don't like scary stuff in general, I was more than old enough to not be scared by it in the early '90s. I mean, it was a video game. And it's not like games back then were like games today. ;) If Jurassic Park didn't scare me, MK stood no chance. :P

MK did kind of scare me back in the day. I was in a video store getting movies with my dad, and there was an MK2 arcade box. I looked over at it and saw Baraka and got scared. Then I kind of did that thing where you know you don't want to look at it, but you turn back and look at it like three more times...

i first played MKII when i was like 6 and nothing scared me until i got to Kintaro. That bastard freaked me out back then but now i think he's cool.

The only thing that scared me as a child was the Living Forest in MK2 and MK4. Between the movements the faces made and the disturbing moans they would make, it just made me really uneasy. I was also scared of the continue screen in MK4. Something about the crude graphics and knowing when people walked away from the machine that their character was as a good as dead made me upset for some reason. Besides that, I was fine with it, and I've been playing since the day MK3 came out

1.) The trees in the Living Forest would scare the shit out of me when they went, "Raaww," and just the way they look too.

2.) Goro use to scare the **** out of me when I got to him.

3.) Shao Kahn and Kintaro use to scare me in MK2 here(escially the weird noise that's loud when Kintaro stomps on that thing):

4.)And the thing I got scared of the most, was when I use to play MK4 and lost a fight. I would fall down that well. The music and the fact that Liu Kang or someone else was falling down the well of spikes scared the hell out of me, even when I was just looking.

Only things in MK that ever scared me were Motaro, first time I saw him I threw the controller and had my uncle beat him for me.
I was about 4 or 5.

Shao Kahn, after a ****ed up dream.

Honorable mention is Ermac's hara-kiri, it never scared me, but it is the only MK finisher where I turned away from the screen.

I feel a bit weird, seing most ppl were scared by these things when they were little XD.
I've been watching horror movies and stuff since I was like 6, and I still love them and none really scared me XD

I think the Aclaim logo feared Mortal Kombat more than anyone else, specially after goro ***** slapped it in MK1

Yes. The first MK I got was MKT for N64 and when I saw the intro with the skeletons in the background of Goro's Lair, it creeped me out. Especially with the music playing.

Yea i was scared of it when i first got UMK3. I was like 4 or 5. It was actually my dad's but i wanted to see what it was like. Goro's Lair and that Church stage. Thats what started it then came Motaro and I was scared ****less. sounds dumb now tho I love MK
