Did Gamespot leak Soyna?

I'm glad Sonya doesn't look like an anime waifuu. Looking at her features, she looks as if her aging has developed plainer features. She's got some strong Nordic or I guess Germanic features. Plus the lighting in that picture isn't really enough to make a call on how Sonya really looks.
 
The UK version of the video has Sonya in it, though.

Sonya looks fine for what she is at that stage of her life. An older ,bitter, stern, separated single mom of a bratty - bi curious daddy's girl.

I agree. The look gives her a more mature and experienced look which fits her military role. I actually didn't want Sonya to be in this game but if NRS is going to take her character serious (which it seems) then I'm more optimistic now.

I don't see why she has to look like a weird Ed Boon fetish anime waifu. This is a dark fighting game about two people entering, one person leaving. If you want sex appeal, go outside and get a girlfriend or just look up porn. MK doesn't need awkward, sex appeal. Leave that to fighting games for weeaboos.

That looks nothing like Cassie.
Sorry.
Sonya's face seems to be more round than Cassie's, and her eyebrows and lips are totally different too.
Sonya also has a webbing ring on her necklace.

Until it's confirmed otherwise, I will take that as a Sonya confirmation.
The comics also tell us that Sonya is gathering a task force, along with Johnny Cage to save Cassie, around the 15 year mark.
It's pretty safe to assume that she'll be playable, at this point.

I just can't imagine what her variations are going to be like. I just hope her moveset is different from Cassie's which I'm sure they'll find a way. Her X-ray from MK9 is the only X-ray i want to remain the same.
 
Look, I'm done. NRS CAN'T design women. PERIOD. Or at least Human females... They can't design Asian faces and females... I don't care with the blablablabla "women may not be pretty in fighting games" blablablabla I am not calling Sonya ugly, I am stating she's horribly designed. Her giraffe neck, her tranny jaw...

On the positive side: now may the DERP discussion "Sonya is a wasted spot because Cassie is in" come to an end ^_^
 
Sonya being pictured there doesn't mean she's a playable character, she could just be part of the story mode.

Cassie doesn't have Sonya's Kiss, Leg Grab, Bicycle Kicks, Ring Blast or Square Wave Punch moves, and Cassie plays like Stryker.
How, exactly would they have to differentiate Sonya from Cassie, when her daughter seems to play nothing like her and has none of her iconic special moves???

Being in Story Mode = playable on the main roster, according to MK9.

Just because she is in doesn't mean its not a wasted slot. Sonya, since the very first game, is one of the most boring characters in the series. She didn't even make it into the second game except as a stage prop.

BUT

Her inclusion is looking pretty much guaranteed at this point. So I do agree that the discussion can cease.
