So That ends the 2012 Fighting Games for this year! That i know of! Started this year of in Jan with Soul Calibur 5 and it seems to end this year Sept, with Dead Or Alive 5.... Been a Great Year! for Fighting Games!

Now looking forward to 2013 Games! First one i know of will be Injustice! Oh Yeah! Bring on 2013...

The online works but its not Tekken Tags quality ( Namco is a massive company like Capcom so the netcode is smoother I'm not surprised ) but its not perfect ether . I hope Team Ninja fix the games netcode soon or their literally DOA. This is not good but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since the game just came out. Hopefully they can iron out the bugs.

Kasumi is a better character that she was in 4. i have noticed only one move that gone. that is the U,P . it was a very slow move and only have one or two uses in my game. it was after i caught a mid kick counter, i would do that move afterwards and it would almost always catch them without me needing to eyeball judge the timing of their decent for a combo. it has been replaced by a hopping punch. don't know how i feel about it yet.

back in the day, i raved about hoshimpo. to me, it was her one best tools. you get a high punch, mid kicks or her best throw out of it. great mix up options. the only problem with hoshimpo back then was that you had to use another move to get into it. most commonly P>P>, P+K> or F+K> . the 1st was fast and had good mix up options, but was kinda hampered by the fact that it was a high punch and anyone worth their salt will minimize your use of Kasumi's 9 frame punch by countering it a couple times. also you just did not bring it out against hayabusa. the 2nd was was a mid punch of decent speed and mix ups, but again, mid punches are probably the most countered thing in the game. the third was slow, somewhere in the range of 20 frames if i remember correctly. that means you needed to be at a good advantage or start it far away. if you started it far away, they wouild know and sidestep it.

those days are over. they have given hoshimpo its own move with DF P+K. it is awesome. it covers ground and goes under highs. you options from it are to P,KK, or F+P . can bring it out at any time now with out them seeing it coming. you can also just use it as a spacing move to get in close and not use any of the options, that that is gambling a little bit. anyone not taking advantage of this move is not doing her right.

One thing that i complained about Kasumi was her lack of chain options after a low hit. she only had one in doa4. that was DB PP . that was a low punch to a high punch. that was it. not other option from a low hit. well, it seams as team ninja was listening and they gave her another low chain. it is D KK . that is a low kick to a high kick. yep you read that right, they can be coutered the exact same way. I would have loved to see a low to a mid, but hey, at least it is faster than the punch version and i have something else to substitute on hayabusa.

she gets simple and advanced parries now. UF or DF will place you behind the enemy and allow you to go into what every you wanted. B UF or B DF will go into hoshimpo where you can do the P, KK or F+P. i don't know which is better yet though.

will post more as i realize more. not playing since 08 has hurt my skills.

Mila Combo by TN DNA

Critical stun >>
EX: 5P+K --> PP(F = free cancel) --> 3P --> (F) --> LAUNCHER my personal favorite would be 9K good height and no-one counters high after launch get a ground-bounce for relaunch(?) and finish with 5PP

#'s are directional commands and P,K,T,H are action commands

Damn, I spent all that time in training mode to go online and lose to this Hayate.

It was a pretty good match though. We went all the way to round 5.

I never knew about those notations, but that's a clever system.

Kokoro: 66P, 6P6P, 7P, 7K, 4P, 4PPPP.

I think that's right. Same combo I posted before though.

The only character I hate in this game has to be Ayane, no doubt. Not even because of her gameplay or anything like that, I just hate her character. I wish I could punch her in the face.

Anyway, I love using Bayman for the fact that he's a pure powerhouse. Everyone one of his hits feels like it's going to shake the Earth.

Is it just me or is it hard to find matches? I search for any area, any rank, and still nothing. It's sad that this game just isn't popular. When DOA4 came out it was super busy in all of the lobbies. There are a decent amount of people in the lobby rooms but I hate waiting forever just to get into a match... Those lobbies were fun when DOA4 was hot because almost everyone had a mic. Nowadays people usually don't have them.

.

better get used to fighting her if DOA4 is anything to go by...She was S tier in that game but there's no way to tell with this game.

I'd say she's still S tier.

I never looked at tier lists for DOA4 but wow, Kokoro is almost at the bottom and I still had like a 94% winning average. Proof that tier lists don't matter for average online games.

Is there a universal way to turn your back to someone? With multiple characters I get stuck in the command training because I don't know a normal to turn them around. With Kokoro I just press 7K and it turns her around just fine. I went through all of Gen's normals and not one turned him around.

I think the games come out at the wrong time to compete really. Theres alot of big mainstream releases the past few weeks. If i had hit the amount of people I had see carrying FIFA 13 this morning.......

That Mila combo looks nasty I'm gonna check it out in training mode. So far I've been playing against my friends and story mode. I've only done training mode with Kokoro Kasumi Zack and Akira. This game is amazing. I've used Mila quite a bit against my friends she is so awesome. Rig too tried him in story mode. Anybody know how to do Zacks Kanos cannonball move?? Please post.

God I love Pai, she is so fun. I liked Pai in VF, but she is so damn fun here. What she lacks in power she makes up for with speed.

PK2PK4K, I love it.

PPP9P+K*K4H+K

She has 3 different stances she busts out into mid combo, so she has a great mix up game and just makes a great guessing game for your opponent.

Also, everyone that plays DOA remember the Golden rules...

Strikes>Throws
Throws>Holds
Holds>Strikes

One thing I REALLY hate about this game is the AI. This game has the HUGEST and most random difficulty spikes ever.

For example, if you face Akira as the last battle most in Arcade on Normal or Higher, he's like 5x harder than the other characters. Why? I have no ****ing idea.

I'm actually ranting about this right now to blow off some steam. I'm on champ difficulty with Tina and my last opponent is Akira and I've lost at least 7 times to him compared to my previous battles like with Kasumi where I only lost once.

It makes no damn sense. Why is he so hard? He knows EXACTLY when to block and attack. He doesn't even use holds but if you try and grab him he strikes you and he pretty much does a combo into his power hit almost every single round. It's annoying, stupid, and extremely frustrating.

Edit:

I beat him. Apparently, he doesn't know how to defend against low attack spam. I literally did the same thing over and over with Tina. He countered it a few times but I came out on top.

That was really stupid...

The AI can be frustrating, I remember kicking my ottoman and breaking it when I could not beat Alpha-152 with Tina in DOA4 back in 2006... I still remember it.

When did fighting games ever have great AI?
