GTA GTA2 and London are completely different games from 3-5 and I pretty much do think of them as different great games. And Resident Evil with out zombies is Resident Evil. While we are at it Mario 2 is Mario. MK with vampires is just a once great game gone down the wrong path but lucky they fixed it in MK9. Oh and Twisted Metal 3 and 4 aren't Twisted Metals either.
 
heres what i got from it.

First thing i noticed is that the MK team have clearly listened to the fan complaints about the ridiculous impractical muscle bound body builder Ninjas in MK9. ninjas are not body builders. yes they are fit and strong and lean but strong does not mean big bulky muscles. look at subz and scorpion this time round and you notice they have a much better physique that is more realistic to how a ninjas body frame would be. so well done there ;)

next thing i noticed is that its hard to tell WTF is going on?? maybe its the games speed or maybe its coz the background is too buzy but im finding it really hard to tell whats going on and i dont like that. i had the same problem with injustice and Killer instinct and Marvel vs capcom too fast and too buzy so just becomes a mess.

and the 2 new characters? sad to say im not a fan at all. the big dude/little dude looks like a gimick character and the Bug chick looks like a marvel comic character and must every character have a hood since assassins creed? and i dont like that move she does where these pincers come out of nowhere coz again like i was saying its so fast you cant make out whats going on. Just looks messy to me

im really concerned now :/

Seriously people, if you love MK1-UMK3 so much, why you don't go and play them (or MK9) instead of complaining. Why you don't help MK1 HD remix or MKTX - they are pretty much everything you always dreamed of. WB will always cut to casuals and not die hards, simply because there are way more casuals, and young people who will throw their money for years to come if MK will get their attention today, unlike diehards/klassic fans who will go away with the time anyway. That's why characters and gameplay get modernized. Bussiness is for money, not for certain fans - accept it already.

The world will be still in stone age if this true. Kill a mammoth, burn a fire with wood and arms, make a stone knife...hey, this guy made a wheel...what?! Kill him, this is not traditional walking!.
 
I am not at all opposed to new characters and the story going on as long as it fit. MKDA didn't fit. The new characters were either rip offs or complete jokes. It's not even a 3D vs 2D thing. I played MK4 a lot and MKD got better as far as fun factor but story and characters were still bad. The new realms make no sense. Raiden has been telling Earth realm about the others for 5 games but those slipped his mind. Come on. There are very good reasons that people don't like them and the game got rebooted.
 
yah i am not a fan of all the realms, nether,outworld and earth is all we need, the whole order realm, chaos realm etc etc all useless an stupid

What's wrong with setting new traditions? Besides, the original trilogy offered something new in each installment. Wouldn't it be great if they continued that tradition?
 
Seriously do mods even exist on this forum anymore? What's with all the griefing?

Anyway I think it's high time we moved away from thd MKII & 3 era and took things in a new direction. The esthetic and atmosphere of this game is very reminiscent of Deadly Alliance with the more subdued color palette. I'm glad we're getting more characters that aren't standard build males or the giant breasted scantily clad females (though I'm pretty sure that's not going away no matter how much people complain about it). The brutality and gore is certainly there so there's no need to worry about that.

All that's left on my list of wants is story details and I'll be set.
 
My god it's my favourite point in time again. Checking out the fatalities. These were gruesome! MK has now taken the dark tone many have been wanting it seems and the new character designs make me hopeful of some originality. Can't wait!!! :D

You absolutely cannot be serious. Wanna bother explaining why? The new characters are way better than anything created post MK3. I cannot understand this fan-base sometimes.

Every long running franchise fan base have it's retro fans who can't stand 90% of new things. Nothing unusual here.

Sure, if you compare Ladybug to something like Kitana, this is one sided battle, but i highly doubt Ladybug pretend on some major role, more like a nice bonus character. Ladybug should be compared to the third echelon (guys like Stryker/Mavado/Havik/Hotaru), not the first or even second ones.
I think even Boon understand he can't replace major characters with Ladybug, it's like replacing Mario with Dry Bones as cover boy - while Dry Bones is cool, he simply is not franchise major face that can make money on his own. Same story here.

Long story short, don't take Ladybug as major character's replacement, take her as a bonus.
 
Awesome gameplay! I'm glad they have that environment attacks.

The fatalities are nice too. It's more creative than MK9. I can't wait for more!!!
