Cyrax Thread - "Safeties Disabled; Combat Mode Engaged!"

So far from what ive played online, cyrax seems much weaker when playing against characters with teleports. They totally weaken his zoning game. characters like smoke are very dangerous to cyrax. A good smoke can predict when your about to do a net or bomb and counter with his teleport punches. Other characters, like melina and sheva can also be a problem..

With smoke you can block his teleport punches, (wait for him to touch the ground) then punish into a jab combo.

Milena seems different, it doesnt look like you can punish her (after blocking her tele kick or roll attack) as she touchs the ground. You have to punish her while she is still in the air. Actually someone correct me if im wrong, but i think you may be able to punish her single tele kick as she touches the ground.

If you block milenas roll attacks you can do this....

EXbomb, midbomb, uppercut, b+2, 1,2,1~anti air.... does 50 damage

After blocking her enhanced double tele kick its really hard to punish. But ive found that if you block it, you can do this...

3~net, b+2, 1,2,1~anti air.....24 damage

The 3 kick should hit her before she touches the ground. Not the greatest damage, but atleast its a punish. Also its not worth adding a exbomb in that combo as the damage ends up similar.


Now a good sheva can be a pain in the ass. If they spam her teleport, make sure to do alot of close bombs. if you do a close bomb and she tries to teleport, generally she will land almost right on it. this will deter them from using it, giving you back your zoning game..


Also guys i think we need to post combos that punish other charaters blocked moves. I feel these are some of the most important combos to learn..

I played against a few Sheeva teleport spammers with Cyrax, what I did to beat them is simply jump out of the way or Teleport and fire the Net quickly. The Air Throw can also be a good way to dodge the attack, plus there's a chance you'll grab the spammer if timed right.
 
Hey guys! Ive been working on some high damage combos! Heres a few that ive found...

uf+2, 2,1~Exbomb, midbomb, Uppercut, b+(2), 3~Exbomb, 1,2,1~anti air.......65 damage

Only uses 2 bars of meter! To make it work, you have to make the 2nd hit of b+2 hit only, you cant have both hits connect otherwise it wont work. To make the 2nd hit of b+2 hit, just input your b+2 as he has just finished exploding off the bomb. The timing is easy once you get to know it. This trick actually opens the doors a bit more for damage!

Heres another using the same trick....

uf+2, 2,1~Exbomb, midbomb, uppercut, b+(2), 3~Exbomb, 3~Exbomb, 3,3~ragdoll.......70 damage

Because only the 2nd hit of b+2 hits, they stay high enough in the air to connect the 3,3~ragdoll, after the 2nd 3~Exbomb. normally this is almost impossible.

Now for our favourite 1 bar combo...

uf+2, 2,1~Exbomb, midbomb, uppercut, b+(2), 1,2,1~anti air.....58 damage

Using only the 2nd hit of b+2, gives our combo a 1% damage increase!


Whenever i post combos using the 2nd hit of b+2, ill put the 2 in brackets like i have done above. This should cut down on the confusion.


Anyway, ill try and find a few more tonight. :)
 
I've recently been main-ing Cyrax, and with excellent results. Most people ragequit after seeing me kill them in two kombos. Haha

Just wondering, does anyone else utilize what I call the Rapidport technique? When teleporting rapidly from one side of the opponent to the other, I find that Cyrax has a few invincibility frames when reforming from a Teleport (your opponent can't even grab you). Doing so rapidly increases your meter wicked fast. It allows me to perform like 4 X-Rays in one round haha. And that's why I call it Rapidport!

1 bar and the timing on the ragdoll isnt that hard either! This is going to be my new main!
 
Great info Tony, yu da man! I didn't even think about texting just the last hit of the B+2 launcher. I'll definitely go try it out later. Using 2 bars for 65% or 3 for 70% is just more flashy than actually worth it in my opinion though. But I'll definitely be pulling these off if I know I can afford it. I usually just do 1 bar combo and I think it's 57% damage.

They can combo you out of the teleport before you even touch the ground. Its really unsafe man. I still use it though as it can be useful when timed right.

Exactly man. The only time id use 2 bars in a combo is for an EXnet followed by the standard combo. I cant justify using 2 bars or more any other way. "maybe" to finish off a match, but even then it would be a rare.

Very impressive dude! Infact best cyrax ive seen to date! Im very glad to see that you only used the xray to finish off your opponent and win the match. I also use some very similar setups. great stuff!

I seem to have a hard time dealing with people that put down a lot of pressure with rushdown. Any idea on how I can get them off me, excluding EX Teleport?

Same problem here. My Cyrax faced off against a Sonya, a very deadly one at that. She wouldn't give any room for zoning!!

I rushed her down with j.p,3,3 xx Net,3,3 xx (forget the name of his special where he kicks you into the air then grabs you).

But yeah, my only option with rushdown characters seems to be rush them back sadly. ):

I noticed you didnt really use the roll back from wakeup very much. Using that keeps them at a little over a jumping distance away from you after wakeup. Good for regathering your space. Also after the roll back you can still do an EX wakeup attack.

After you hit them with the EXteleport you can get a free d+1 for 1 extra point lol. Not sure if its worth it, just thought you might like to know :P

Im really starting to think that most of his Ex moves are good for wakeup, however you need to pick the right one depending on the situtation. Exragdoll, for when there on the ground coming towards you. Exanti air, for when there jumping towards you (even just regular anti air) and Exteleport or Exanti air if there trying to jump over you. They all seem pretty safe on block.

I actually really liked your zoning game, I thought you used the net and bombs really well. i do much the same things.

I have a little trick that may be of some use. his EXsawblade is fantastic for ending rounds when your opponents health is almost on zero. It cant be ducked and it comes out blazing fast! On block it does 2 points damage and on hit (from a distance) it does 8 points damage. On hit (up close) it does 15 points. Mainly i use it for when my opponent is on very low health and trying to avoid me. works like a charm!

In all honesty though, im still working on a cyrax rush down game. I have a few ideas, but nothing concrete just yet. Im still in a testing phase. I thought what some of the stuff you did was in the right direction. I think we just need to build on it!
 
Looks like human cyrax can combo from his EXteleport! Here is a basic combo from it...

EXteleport, 3~net, b+2, 1,2,1~anti air.....31 damage
 
COMBO OFF NET?! That makes it much more deadly because you can reset for bomb traps! Especially if you want to do a mixup game off combo and then re-net because re-net (hopefully up high) will allow them to break out of it, but they have to get to the ground first. So you could dash in and block/grab/2,1,2, far bomb.
edit: I cannot seem to land the EXteleport, 3. Character specific?

2,1,2 is really good because it is untechable. I think. Free bomb trap if you do that them in the corner. (1:00 minute mark at first youtube video)

People that are on top of me during my knockdown, I tend to use EX Teleport. I feel it is a good option selection should they decide to jump over me. Then EX Airgrab comes out.

I haven't really found much use for ragdoll or EXragdoll though. I am testing it out. I do know it allows for a free jump in punch should they decide not to back tech.

I tend to save meter for EX net reset so that they can't breaker out of mixups, but I usually find myself with more than enough meter to play with.

Lastly and one of the best things about Cyrax (because only he can do it)

Should you get them in net and they have meter to break, EXbomb, close bomb, 2,1. Instead of doing mid bomb, should they Breaker the 2, 1, they eat a bomb. So good.

Edit: messing around with your combo videos. I manage to get a 95% combo using 1 unblockable in corner, starting out with a jump-in punch. Pretty practical too. pretty broken T_T Mind you, that unblockable in corner is almost impossible to get out of. Oh, this is without using command grab too! Oh best part? 1 meter.

Cyrax CAN 100% you with 1 combo.

Nice EX net human Cyrax combo, and I also use the EX saw blade when people are low on health. Does anyone have any good uses for cyborg Cyrax's EX teleport? It seems almost useless to me.
