Current Pre-Order Sales Figures- BRACE YOURSELVES!>>>

All in all, I'm pretty sure MKX's sales will be in the seven figures but I highly doubt we'll see MK9 numbers and WB, being the Multi-National Billion Dollar Corporation they are, won't be too thrilled about that.

BTW, I've preordered my copy and I'm taking my next vacation on the week of release. I'm ready for Kombat.

I seem to recall 3 million copies of MK9 being the break-even point for the purchase of Midway...

And besides, if WB REALLY wants bigger sales, THEY need to do their part with more reveals, which is effectively more pre-release advertising for the game.

I tend to pre-order items that have a good chance of being hard to find later on. I'm not crazy about the Goro pre-order bonus, but I might be interested what might come with the limited edition. Otherwise, I'll just buy it at later date.

This.

WB has no one to blame but themselves if the marketing sucks and they don't get the word out there better.
NRS, as the developer, just makes the game.
Advertising and marketing is up to WB.

I'll be worried if the numbers lag after they announce any Special Editions.

I, and I'm assuming there's a hell of a lot others like me, have not preordered because a Kollector's Edition hasn't been announced as of yet. Also I want to see if there are Store Exclusives.

I think this is why. I certainly don't want to shell out until I find out what's in the UK collectors edition (if we get one). I'm a huge fan and yet I've not pre-ordered due to this. Give it time.

I wouldnt worried about pre-order sales yet, im very excited about the game but theres no reason to rush and preorder now, im preety sure the sales will skyrocket by christmas time, this game is shaping up to be one of the best fighting game imo.

The hype is real. I remember in June or July, when the MKX trailer was released, it was one of the most viewed videos of the month. It'll do fine.

What if theyre waiting to reveal the good stuff maybe a month or two before release? That way the casuals will be more likely to preorder or buy it at release because the wait is short. I mean only the hardcore fans are going to be interested for a full year cause ill wait as long as it takes but if it was almost here im sure more people would look into it.

The game still needs proper advertising to sell, and that responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of WB.

True, but they can still advertise without all of the reveals, its not much to work with but they still need to do something

This completely. It's still early before the game is released. Why hype it up now and show everything so the hype can just die down by the time it releases? At this point the pre order numbers really don't matter that much either. I know I'm getting it but there's no rush to do it at the moment. I'd say within the two months before release, you'll see plenty of advertisement. WB knows what they're doing.

I'd like to think that if sales figures will be poor, NRS will make one last big MK game with all MK9 and MKX cast (+leftover characters from "vote Yes/No thread") as their swan song.

When I pre ordered my copy at Gamestop, they told me that MKX pre orders have already shattered the total number of pre orders MK9 had. The game will be fine
