I thought everything pre MK1 was still canon... i haven't seen anything to disprove that mythologies isn't canon anymore since MK9 came out

I thought to many things were changed.
A common theory is that Shinnok may have also received timeline messages.(possibly before Raiden)
And that would help explain Quan Chi having a bigger role in the story, and why Quan Chi had the amulet.
 
Mokao- The little Motion capture balls start to glow extra bright...causing mokap to take control of his Opponent.
Mokap falls to his Knees the opponent falls to his knees as well. then Mokap Bangs his Face into the Ground over and Over until it's unrecognizable. the Opponent Mimics this the both lay roll over on there back in pain exuding blood all over the Ground.

That's quite interesting.
dammit i love shinnok.
The timeline only shifted back to the very first fight of the tournament not before... and interestingly quan chi was already there too, it wouldn't be beyond shinnok's abilities to go further back if he wished so that is very possible.

Quan chi's presence alone influenced a sh!t load of things to change though, and he made it absolutely certain that sindel was resurrected no questions asked, very diligent.

I doubt shinnok or quan chi would even want much to change pre MK1 in the first place, everything was flowing nicely for them.
I'd like to think all the "events" pre MK1 stayed the same until we are shown or told otherwise.

- I have always loved fighting games, Street Fighter 2 being the one that introduced me to the genre, and Mortal Kombat was another like it, yet alot different.

12. My uncle bought MK2 for Genesis in 95. I played it a few times with my cousins and have been hooked ever since.

#11: Sub-Zero. Always did prefer him over Scorpion, though.

#12: I got way into MK's lore. I think if it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't be as into it as I am.

I remember when the first MK movie came out in 1995 when I was four years old when I was in pre-school. I see the games at the arcades, but didn't play MK until a year later when I played MK2 on the Genesis. I also remember my cousin also had MK1 and MK3 on the Genesis around the same time. I rented the movie on VHS and I saw the second movie in theaters with my Mom. I also remember the hype for MK4 and that Rampage: World Tour had a small preview for the game inside the game's booklet. I watch Conquest when it was on TV and it was a popular show when I was in the third grade. I follow MK on the web sometime around 2002 when MKDA was coming out and I started to join MK message boards around 2002 when I join Gamefaqs.

12. Probably the mystery, back in the day a lot of characters just had a kind mystique about them.... and back stories/the ultra violence.
