Comp. packs mandatory now?

Figured you guys would be interested in this tweet from our very own TRMK.

TRMK Patch 1.04 is up for PS3 right now. We hear it requires the Compatibility Packs. Looking to @MK_MortalKombat for patch notes.

So new patch and comp. Packs might be mandatory.
Everyone wanting to keep Freddy out of their MK are outta luck.
I'm just glad I'll finally be able to use all my DLC in every match.
I think this is the smartest move NRS couldve made concerning people refusing the comp. Packs.
What do you guy's think?

Edit: Patch 1.04 and the 4th DLC Compatibility pack: Featuring UMK3 Sub-Zero and MK3 Cyber-Sub-Zero are now available on PSN.(Still no patch notes.)
If anyone gets any more info please post it. So we know what this patch contains. And if this makes all comp. packs mandatory.

Edit: TYM is now reporting that patch 1.04 is only to fix a problem with freddy on PSN. So no patch notes. As for there being mandatory comp. Downloads I do not know. It may have been a rumor?

im not getting freddy shits a waste of money man wtf. ill gladly pay for cyber smoke ..... or umk3 costumes.. packs... 15 $ each i dont care.... freddy - non mk related freken waste. such an amazing game.. and they decide to ruin it with freddy your kitting me... wow.
 
Thats good and bad at the same time, good as in the guys who want to test Freddy online and bad for the guys who dont want to face Freddy at all.
 
I think its great and about time. Politely its very fair. They are making sure you can purchase content, and use it for purchasing it. What the point of having it in majority or some of the games you play online. A lot of the time ill have maybe just one of the 3 (kenshi, skarlet, rain) or maybe two, then of course all or none. Thats not fair that you can only use bought content occasionally.

And for those who are against those downloads, they might (heres the scary part) like the gameplay of those they may not have originally checked out in the first place :P
 
finaly I also want them mandatory for the other three dlc's
I was persistent with skarlet and kenshi as for learning and using them
then I learned rain and never got to use him online because I forgot him

its not fair at all. to me fair would be them waiting at least a week to make me see freddy. i basically cant play online for a week because i KNOW EVERYONE will be picking freddy. the only dlc character not to experience this was skarlet. i faced nothing but kenshi and rain the first week they were released. i had to wait 2 or 3 months for the other characters to be mandatory but i cant even get a week from having to see freddy in every match.

Most people i fight dont even have the costumes, so don't i'll see him much online, and by that i mean they don't buy DLC
 
Not sure not much info on it at the moment. I'm sure the moderators will post patch notes and everything in the news section. And if they're going to make one comp. pack mandatory they're gonna make all of em mandatory. Hopefully more info will be up soon. Everyone keep your eyes on MK_MortalKombat on twitter for patch notes.

great. they make them all mandatory now. i'm pissing my pants with happiness.
 
I'll just RQ at the beginning of a match, if it's Freddy.
Plain and simple.

There's ALWAYS a way around it.
 
i was gonna say can't people just exit the match if they really don't want to face freddy?

side note: i was just thinking this with online play. When the game first came out and there was the big "whats the 300th mission prize?" and NRS was saying it was gonna something you could show off online. and we learned it was Mileena's Flesh Pits outfit. does anyone even use that costume online?

kind of a funny thought for me now, when her costume was announced the big prize people were just in disbelief. now with freddy it is the same thing. lol like oh how could NRS make such choices? lol
