Character Crisis

It's like on "MK11" we got old Liu Kang again and until "MK12" he's still ruler of the Netherrealm. Makes no sense.

This would surprise me very, very much. Let me explain why I think that is a different situation.

MKX is a transitional game in a lot of ways - there's a lot of "old but new" going on. First, we have all the relatives in the game - old Kenshi, but new Takeda. Old Sonya, but new Cassie. Old Jax, but new Jacqui. Then we have stuff like Johnny Cage becoming the next champion after Liu Kang... yes, he's a classic character, but at the same time it feels very different from when Liu Kang was The One. Old but new.

The Revenant thing is just like that, IMO.

Liu Kang and Kitana have not one but two "dark" costumes in the game. Sure, they're not default, because NRS is concerned - and rightfully so! - about completely changing two of their poster characters. Remember, MK games don't come out every year. If NRS gave people Revenant Liu/Kitana primary outfits in MKX and then again in MK11, that would be ~eight years in a row of Revenant Liu and Kitana. Do they really want people to only think of Liu and Kitana as undead zombies for nearly a decade? I wouldn't if I was them.

But between those alternate costumes and the game's ending, the message to me is very clear. "Get used to seeing them like this. This will be the reality soon enough."

They just want people to have some time to absorb and digest this transition before they go full-hog on it by making Liu Kang and Kitana antagonistic in a way that is much more meaningful than just being Quan Chi's puppets.

edit: erm... maybe we should take this conversation elsewhere...

Nice! Good arguments.

But I think, following your way of thinking, that they should be unlockable.

I like all of them, and I don't think false old versions would make me have time to absorb and digest the idea - that for sure affected my feelings  - that two of them are supreme rulers of ducking Hell.

About being undead zombies, I don't think that's the case. I got the impression Quan Chi revived them as corrupted and twisted versions. You know, coming out of the pit with a body. That's probably why it was "easy" to bring some back (and makes complex the case of Scorpion, who is alive, but was never a revenant at all).

I'm decent with Quan Chi, Shinnok and Kenshi but even then I was still loosing most rounds and sometimes I'd become too predictable to the point where I was put in bad situations liked being pinned against the wall.

It wasn't until I fell upon Sub Zero (grandmaster) as a random select that I felt more comfortable playing as a more defensive player as oppose to being over aggressive and loosing rounds that should've easily been won. I may or may have not gotten better but honestly my wins have drastically improved so in a way i must be doing something right.

MK[X?] is like that girl you keep around because she's freaky and fun, but wouldn't deal with any of her bullshit i.e., not a serious relationship.
More like the wife you're lumbered with through contract and fantasise about throttling in her sleep!

I'll give it a chance to get back on topic, if it doesn't, I'll hand out infractions and the offenders could be banned. So its a win win, let the thread go back on topic, or continue to be imbeciles and get banned and the rest of the forum will be well off. Take your pick people.

You just contradicted yourself. "There's a way to tell people they're making inaccurate statements without calling them names."

Wow at the post above me. Validation of violence against women is despicable.

They need it every once in a while. I remember when I beat the shit out of two black chicks for trying to rob my granny lol

Quan Chi has officially become my next character. The dude is so much fun. Summoner variation gives massive damage with no meter necessary. I just wish he had better buttons up close. He seems to get stuffed a lot.

Sue me, I made that post right before I was going to lift 245 lbs off my chest. Rage mode was intiated. Y'all get the point.

So is it okay if I call people names as long as I make excuses afterwards? You should practice what you preach, Mr Taj! ;)
