My eye is on Cyborg. He's a great character but I think his low mid screen damage and overall learning curve turns off a lot of people. I'm interested to see how NRS buffs him.

He doesn't need buffing. His fireballs are a great tool for getting in, he has a grapple, extreme corner damage and 30% midscreens. You can't change the learning curve so if people are too lazy to try him you can't do anything about it
 
Bane doesn't need buffs. He's a beast just the way he is. Buff him too much and he will be OP even without projectiles. If the side effects of venom are lessened then he'll be the new Superman. Bane will overload the online community.

He needs to lose the speed reduction on Venom Withdrawal.
 
His fireballs are for keep away, and his damage is only scary in the corner. I kinda want to play Cyborg..

If you ask me, I think the game needs more universal changes than character specific changes, speed/pacing seems inconsistent IMO, movement changes such as buffing walk speeds, canceling dashes with normals and ducking can speed the game up and help those do who are destroyed by keep away.

My only problem with top tiers is the gap between them and A+ characters, it's the same as MK9. 3 characters shouldn't dominate all of the cast, and the gap is so huge that buffing lower tier isn't enough. I think that top 5 should lose a few things but they're core gameplay should stay in tact. Like for superman, I feel as if his F2,3 vertical hitbox was reduced he'd be fine, and change super from 2 frames to 6 frames so it's on par with corpse charge being labeled at ONE of the fastest punishes and bit THE fastest punisher in the game.

I mentioned all of that to illustrate the reason why NRS will buff him. Like I said, he's a great character but his lack of usage in both tournament and online play pretty much guarantees him some buffs. I think a nice buff for him would be to make his homing missles unblockable. That would make his zoning even more dangerous and improve his setup game.

By that logic Superman, Batman and Black Adam will be nerfed. But we all know that aint gunna happen. They'll still be riding high with their free 30-50% combos. Buffing Cyborg for example isn't going to change the fact hes very technical, like Shazam. People will use 'easy' characters and the top 5 are by far the simplest of the cast.

People online are lazy sh!ts, changes like you propose may make Tournament more enjoyable to watch and maybe won't end with the inevitable Superman VS Black Adam or Black Adam vs Black Adam showdown, but online? Nah....Cyborg will still be a redundant character.

I have fought ONE good Cyborg since release, we had a good conversation and he gave me some advise on the Zatanna match up and I gave some to him. NEVER fought a good Hawkgirl, people just spam mace and that flying dash thing. Shazam has come up alot more recently in online play for me, but if I win they switch to Superman (I could name them but you'll have no idea who they are so whats the point lol). NEVER fought a good Bane, don't mean to blow my own trumpet but I could blow people out of the water with my Bane

As long as the top 5 are as good as they are, you won't see other characters as often as you want.

If you want to use Cyborg I suggest getting good with him now, because if they buff him it'll just be easier than jumping in blind BECAUSE they buffed him. I tried Shazam last night and just couldn't get a feel for him, the buffs hes getting won't help my issues with the character so won't be jumping on that train.
 
Are these buffs all that these characters are getting or they just sneak peeks? Because for all 3 we've seen so far they have been a little strange :s

The whole point of this patch is to give the little guys more of a fighting chance against the top tier. This isn't me asking for buffs. I'm just explaining the situation. I'm sure Cyborg is next in line for some buffs regardless if he needs them or not.

Ok, let's shift the convo back to Bane. 30% damage reduction, attack damage increase(how much of an increase does bane get at LV 3?) and the ability to armor through pretty much everything. NRS is freakin mad!

His highest damaging holy shit combos turn into 13% messes.


So lvl3 buffs don't really matter. Lvl3 is mostly for ending rounds.

It would be a crime if you Bane mains don't put LV 3 venom to use after this buff.
 
Bane is going to be dominant in the right hands now. I wonder what buffs Lex will get. If he gets none then that's messed up. All I want for him is a better back dash and his 1,1 string to hit mid.
 
I've never even seen Infinite Crisis used. It's F2, D, 3 for those wondering. Not like F2D3, but you press down then 3. Sounds weird but it's simple. It's currently -30 on block, with 11 start-up frames. Venom changes are interesting.

As for Cyborg... his trait needs to be buffed. It's 100% useless.

This doesn't encourage Level 3 usage.
The speed and defense drops are still there.


Your run of the mill bnb on lvl3 withdrawal Bane turns into a 50% damage exhibition. Combined with the fact that the speed drop makes it harder to get in and defend yourself, lvl3 venom is very dangerous.
 
I don't really see the point in using MB venom uppercut if they block it. You will just go into the air and kick the air. Unless they jump right after they block it, which still doesn't seem to be worth a bar. I think they should have made those changes to his BF2.
