Boon is considering klassic stages DLC

Well, he already practically konfirmed DLC stages in the twin galaxies stream. It's pretty clear he was talking about Klassics, lol.

How was that a clear hint at "Klassic" stages?

DLC stages just came off as "more MKX stages," to me, given that MKX only has 13 and MK9 had 26 stages.
26 stages vs 13 stages is quite a reduction in stages.
 
I would be all over that, if they fix the PC version first. I promised myself I wouldn't spend a dime more until the game is fixed. So let's hope they do.

You really think he'd give us new stages as DLC? I don't see any logic behind that in any way, Sales wise or fanbase appeal wise. Did you expect some brand new stages as DLC? I can promise you right now, bookmark me, we will never get a brand new arena as DLC.

Yeah, I did.
They gave us Skarlet before as DLC. Why not a new stage, as well?

I just personally don't see it ever happening. I'm not gonna egg you on, but I was serious about bookmarking me. I'm very sure we won't get any new stages. The smartest move is pulling out some Klassics.

Sometimes I wonder why NRS didn't just cut the bullshit and just remake MK1, MKII and MK3 as 3 separate individual games, since that's all that people seem to want. :roll:

It's all additional, though. We got plenty of original content in the base game.
 
Do you think they would give the klassic stages completely new soundtracks? Since each stage has like 3 different round themes, would they do the same for these? That seems like quite a lot of effort tbh

I don't see it happening either, given that people are hung up on nostalgia, but when it was initially announced in the Kombat Tether interview with Boon, my initial thought process was "Cool. We'll get some new MKX stages as DLC."

I know that it's additional, but I don't have to agree with it.
I'm pretty sure that I'm allowed to freely express my opinion on the matter.

I know that we got original stages in MKX but there's something that feels off when we have 8 original new characters, 2 of which we still don't know much about (Erron Black and Ferra / Torr).

I think they should be remade versions... Still having 3 rounds of music. As long as they don't use music we already have I won't mind of its completely new.
 
Everyone requests the klassics because that era was awesome. The3-D era was horrible. It needs to be ret-conned out of existence.

New stuff is usually a piece of crap nowadays. That's why everything is just remade. That includes things other than games also. I looked up the top 100 list of movies and 80% of them were either pre-2000 or a remake.

You can't tell me that deception and deadly alliance didn't have great arenas and soundtracks...
 
Seeing how Shang Tsungs Island was brought up in JC's ending and it's used in the comics. I'd like to see that return but not as a klassic but more as to what it looks like 25 years later. All abandoned and such. Would be cool.
 
You're right, it is my opinion. I depised the 3-d era. I am one of the "nostalgics" that wants to keep the trilogy characters going in the next MK.

I don't see Skarlet as 'new' in the same way we're talking about here. Like Tremor, she was a long-demanded character with a built-in fanbase.

I doubt we'll ever get an actually new character as DLC. They want characters that they know have fans who will pay up.
