Are the reveals lacklustre this time around?

Chill out. We only have seven announced characters so far and only one human female. Don't worry... I'm sure you'll get some slutty trash to obsess over eventually.

If you're referring to the thread where some of us couldn't GET INTO Injustice, then no I did not create it, but I supported the OP's claims.

What's your point though?

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm hype for this, but I echo Kzaoo's sentiments where he says that the reveals hadn't impacted him as hard as MK9's did. The fact that I don't know shit about the story is frustrating and I just want the game ASAP.

No, there was a thread about Injustices hype not been so...hype pre release. I wondered if it was you. Obviously not. x
 
I believe they show character vignettes later, when we'll know what is the story of MKX. Remember that MK9 don't have so many vignettes (5hang Tsung, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Mileena, Liu Kang and 3 of 4 DLC)

MK9 released vignette's early on in the promotional game. Like.... really early. It was one of the first things released for the game.
 
One thing I'm SUPER annoyed about is that there is no hi-res render of Sub-Zero. Everyone else (except Raiden, but he was just released and God knows if he'll get one any time soon) has one.
 
Meh, I think they were more liberal with MK9 reveals since they weren't revealing much...we already knew everything about the characters, and once we knew it was a reboot we knew what a good amount of the story would be about...this time it's 100% new content, and the game still isn't coming out till next year...they don't want to spoil everything right away which is fine with me, I'd rather be suprised.
 
I haven't read anybody's posts in here, so I might be repeating something, but just wait for Mortal Mondays and Fatality Fridays kick in. That is when we get the story trailers, character vignettes and Kombat Kasts.
 
Of course they are lackluster, MK 4 was just as awesome as the trilogy and i expected everyone (except Jarek) to return in MKX. But it'll be just one character (Shinnok), there's nothing left to look forward to. Designs are pretty average and the women are not as sexy and awesome as the ones in MK9. The character variations and the improved fatalities are the only thing that keeps me from ignoring this game completely
 
I haven't read anyones threads either, but i think everyone is already at the edge of their seats. Just sit back relax enjoy the reveals gradually. From what we've seen so far this game is gonna be awesome. Don't think about it too hard!

I'm saying this because for MK9, for each character revealed, there was a hi-res render released, gameplay trailer, story trailer, fatality trailer, etc.

I'm just not getting the same excitement like I did for the reveals for MK9. Not to mention that after a few days have passed since a reveal, the forum topics become stale again, whereas it was bumping like mad for the last iteration of MK.

I agree with your thoughts, was looking forward to all those little extras that kept the anticipation going.
 
It's still very early in the marketing process of the game, though.
I mean, the game just got announced the week before E3 (about a month ago), and within that time until now we got 7 characters revealed, their 3 different variations, some new stages and a Fatality for each characters.

Give it some time.
I'm pretty sure that NRS has more stuff to reveal, before the game comes out in 2015.
If this was ALL that NRS showed from here to when the game comes out, then I could understand the lack of hype or it being lackluster.

Wow, I thought I was the only one here who wasn't indulged in the story line of MK.

Anyway, I feel the exact same way... Not a single reveal made me feel the way I did about any of MK9's. I can't really explain why, it's simply just different.

I'm probably just being salty because I'm not a fan of any of the characters so far. It's okay though, I'm being patient. :(
