Anyone prefer MK9 over MKX?

Let me make this easier for the both of you to understand:
MK9 is 100% definitely faster than MKX in terms of gameplay. Are you seriously gonna sit here and say that 30 fps makes the characters move slower than 60 fps? What fantasy land are you living in? Also, everyone's attacks have been lowed down for this game, it was even one of the complaints people made when the game was released, especially for Scorpion. You can even look at the Character Trailers for MK9 and compare them with the trailers for MKX and see that MK9's combat was way faster.

Now in terms of the speed of a match, MKX is way faster that MK9. Are you seriously gonna say that you can complete a fight in MK9 under 10 seconds tho? It only takes extremely long combo chains or 1 chain and an X-Ray to win a round in MKX, and that's a fact. In MK9 it would take you at least 18-30 seconds just to finish one round. Your attacks in MK9 took away less damage than they do in MKX as proven by the MK9 Tournament where the players would spam the special attacks. In MKX, they ensured that the normal attacks would be more meaningful than they were in MK9. Even Raiden's Spamming can end a match in seconds where as in MK9 his spamming too tedious to the point where people would always rage quit after the first round.

You're both right in terms or which game is faster, but you're both wrong in which part of the game is faster.
You must not have read my posts, because ive been talking gameplay this whole time

Cherry picking videos, tom brady sucks, of course its gonna be a slow match, all he does is block and complain when he loses

If you think MK9 is slow as hell, Street Fighter must be a complete standstill to you.

I personally think MKX is faster just because of the inclusion of the run button and the stage interactions, it's a lot easier to pursue your opponent in MKX. MK9 is not slow to me though, just not as frantic and fast-paced.

My bad. I knew y'all were speaking on gameplay, but then I saw you bring up matches (which I probably read incorrectly) which is my I talking about the length of the matches.

Is this.
Faster then this?
Didn't think so. MK9 is slow as hell.

And just like I said in my posts, the only thing that makes MK9 slow is the fact that people only Fight using special attacks rather than combos due to the fact the normal attacks in MK9 aren't very strong. Even the special move animations are faster than MKX.

No. It's not just that. It's the whole feel of MK9 that's slow. The movement, the dashing, the combos, the special moves, everything is slow.

LOVE! them both but the way they fight in mkx looks sooooooo awesome i find myself forgetting to do specials because they look so real and badass kicking the shit out of each other. brutalities are awesome as hell in mkx, i think mk9 has waaaaaay better xrays and story, AND combo chaining, i hate how every character has to jump overhead attack for a devestating combo to be done in mkx. MKX stages SUUUUUUUUUUCK AAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS except for dead woods. to be honest the only thing i keep thinking that i hate about MKX is no Shang Tsung to talk shit to Lui Kang. the beggining interactions are pure badass, cant get enough of the rivalry ones especially( sonya vs kano, sub zero vs scorpion, the new rivalry of jax vs ermac, GORO VS JOHNNY CAGE!!! ) but no lui kang versus shang tsung and they HATE each other!!!!!!! i tried going back to mk9 but it felt so slow and of course i had played hundreds of hours by then so it might effect my opinion but i like mkx more because of the gameplay and looks, but miss mk9s amazing roster and stage selection and story telling OF COURSE

Nope. Both games are AWESOME. I spent many hours on MK9. MK X was released, and I instantly felt like I was in a Much nicer theme park. This is my ONE and only dislike for MK 10 over 9: character classes. I don't disrespect them, and I know they were in other versions. I just get overwhelmed by trying to learn my favorite char in a huge char section only to find out that I have to learn not 1, not 2, but 3 individual considerations for each of that cast. It's epic but, I, personally develop "1/9 master level" of so and so char if I have to spend 1600 hours just trying to learn their basic combos and publishers.....not to mention about 20 varieties of fatalities for each char. It's just too much to retain. I feel like every time I play the game I'm practicing on one char enough to really work on a good set with them...then I realize I've only been practicing on 1/3 of that char....it has 2 more different sets.

id like to add mk9 felt like a game made by MK fans for MK fans

where as MKX felt like it was made by a team who didnt know much about the MK world at all.

Aside from Cyber-Sub-Zero and Quan Chi on the roster, MK9 was just UMK3 / Trilogy with a new coat of paint.
It didn't feel THAT special, to me.
It's essentially UMK3 / Trilogy, version 2.0.

Whereas MKX felt like a completely new and refreshing experience.
I was more excited for MKX than I ever was for MK9.

mk9 by default since it actually had a playable pc version where i've spent actual time playing it both off and online

but considering what i got on release...disregarding the most important part which is the gameplay...

graphics
overal design: mk9. simply because i was more impressed by it when it came out in 2011, rather than the plastic-looking mkx. it felt colorful, but not childish. the ui design alone beats the snot out of the bland mkx style. the over the top damage system was hilarious.

fidelity: mkx has the edge and it's not a brainer. 2014 vs 2011. it did surprise me though how good the mk9 textures were, considering i ripped most of it. with the correct lighting it looks good even this day.

character models: lel. bodybuilders heaven in both games. in mkx, females are actually clothed sometimes, but they look like midgets. at least mk9 females had raging abs and these things called muscles...the only plus that mkx has is the fact that males have height variations. that's it. lack of cyborgs is a big minus.
btw expect seeing females getting some weight in the upcoming games, seeing as boon supported that trash "badass realistic females" article (sjws here we gooo)

sound: mkx has some rocking tunes, but so did mk9. the sound effects are good in both games. tie.

in a nutshell: when i paid £25 or something for mk9, i got a playable video game. when i paid £50 or something for mkx, i got a bag of feces. which one would you choose, really?

mkx felt like a game made by AND made for people who aren't stuck in 1996.

This X 1,000!

MKX feels like the games that Deadly Alliance, Deception and Armageddon should have all been, but never were.
MKX is a right step in moving the franchise forward in a good direction post-MK3, and if people can't see that then I'm sure that they can either get the Arcade Kollection on PS3 and 360 or get the MK9 Komplete Edition for relatively cheap on last-gen consoles, as well.
Y'know, perhaps NRS should port over MK9 to current-gen to satisfy those that just can't ever get over the Trilogy era.

How do you figure that?

Mk9 had the Atmosphere it felt like a dangerous place with the eerie environments and creepy skies etc

MKX atmosphere felt like generic places found on earth it didnt have that outworld vibe to me. nice clear blue skies and shit :( its as though the stage designers never played MK in their life

also MKX didnt have stage fatalities which should of been a No brainer.

then theres scorpion walking arounnd without a mask on looking like my Dad. WTF

thats an easy target statement. its not that at all.

i just think MK9 did a good job ticking boxes that fans would want, like creepy cool stages and stage fatalities
where as MKx left those boxes un-ticked. and your left just scratching your head.

MKX fan or not you cant deny many people find the stages in MKX bland and lacking creativity and artistry
and everyone was dissapointed to find that there were no stage fatalities

personally i think those things are important trademarks for any MK game weather its 1996 0r 2015 and beyond.
i dont think it would of hurt to add those ingredients in MKX coz leaving them out only gives off the impression that the developers didnt understand what makes MK..MK
