4th DLC Character Discussion: Freddy Krueger~ ALL FREDDY DISCUSSION GOES HERE

Are you getting Freddy Krueger?

Since I bought the season pass, I'll definitely be getting him. If his presence becomes too jarring for me, I can always just delete him and download the comp. pack instead.
 
I wonder how his over-heads will be.


His low claw sweep is already pretty fast.
If his over-heads match that speed he could dominate the wake-up game, maybe.
 
Freddy's Babality is definitely gonna be interesting. I'm hoping it'll be something a little less anti-climactic unlike Kratos or something that isn't as clichèd as like, waking up from a nightmare and crying or shit like that.
 
I was never a fan of Freddy but still was surprised as hell to see him as the 4th DLC. I'd rather have Jason though or better yet a character that actually is from the MK universe.
 
After reading that article it makes me a little disappointed that NRS didn't contact New Line Cinema to see if they could us the original Freddy Krueger model for the game. I'm sure that Wes Craven and Robert Shaye(New Line Cinema's CEO, Who resigned from his position in 2008 because New Line Cinema was merging with Warner Bros. Pictures, the same company that helped publish Mortal Kombat)

In the original 1984 Nightmare On Elm Street Freddy's sweater's stripes where green and red except for the sleeves were completely red and that is the last Nightmare where Krueger is wearing that sweater. Not only that but looking at Freddy's face in the first film he looks like his face is currently melting off his skin so you can see the true nastiness of his burnt face

It's hard to find a picture of the original '84 Krueger so here is a action figure that's been created in the likes of the original, I'm not sure if it's been released yet.

PS. A little Freddy Trivia, The original glove was used in the first 2 Nightmare films but mysteriously disappeared after the filming of the 2nd film. New gloves where made for all the other Nightmare films.... IMO the original glove looks the best out of all of the others.

Oh yes, Jason is an awesome fighter, he has only 2 animations, he walks in slow motion and stabs/cut people in the back, wow what an awesome fighting style... *sarcasm*

God, I hate both characters but Freddy at least can fight, Jason is stiff as a rock.

In no universe Jason is a good choice for a fighting game.

That is a really great picture.

And everyone's right Freddy doesn't belong in a MK game or any other fighting game but I really do like Freddy's bio on the MK site because it kind of shows how it's possible for Freddy to enter into the story but if Earth is currently under attack in the last 3rd of the game doesn't that mean Jason could just leave Crystal Lake and join the fight because he feels he's not getting his share of the carnage, I suppose that idea works for every fictional serial killer, it would be interesting if they added a faster remake version of Jason just so there could be Freddy VS Jason matches but I would live without it.
 
I really hope they do another batch like this with Jason at the end. Tanya, Bo'Rai Cho, Frost and Havik are all in the game somewhere. They won't pass up the chance to make more money with Jason. I mainly play versus with my best friend(epic sessions) so not having the Freddy vs. Jason matches would make me a very sad panda. New Jason is not slow and is quite the marksman. In my opinion he'll be a perfect fit. 3 canon characters and Jason will be more than enough to hold me over till MK10. Don't hate, appreciate!
 
1. Why not Jason? He seems like more of a combat ready fighter and he's more badass

2. I got the season pass so I'm getting him

3. His moves don't look too appealing to me so far

4. I only like the furnace fatality. The other is okay, nothing special

5. Overall I don't mind him, but I was really hoping for an MK character but then again 1 guest character couldn't hurt for xbox
 
My only problem with this is I bought MORTAL KOMBAT not a Mugen verson for consoles, the other day when I was on MW2 I heard a group of nick jrs talking about goin to get the game just for him because "he can beat every mk character ever" and that's not what I want in mortal kombat, 12 year old kids screamin and ragin in koh, fake mk fans who r buyin the game for kratos or freddy. So I'm offically done with mk until I see a 150% pure mk. Mortal kombat 2 was the FIRST video game I ever played and to see it from the path it was on, then on the path WB is taking this game is sad

dumbasses getting the game just for Kratos? YES there was alot of that unfortunatly
but for Freddy? I really doubt it

and your quitting MK because of a few kids who bought the game for reasons other than you? wow a crababy and elitsm at its worst. The game is stil fun to you right? If so, then you should ignore what others do and play the game and enjoy it without thinking about other people (you dont even have to play online if you dont want to see freddy or kratos)

NRS wants new fans to get the game by having guest characters. That way, MK characters will grow on them too, and an entirely new generation will be tempted to stick around for new MK games/DLC. You're looking at it the wrong way.
