In a game that is not giving privilege to kombos and the battle itself, but strategy, footsies and specials to the point where meters and refilled, cheap wins will absolutely be there more than ever.

And if Kabal is Kabal, he might leave a mark on this game like never before. Who knows MK3 Kabal finally meets his superior.

Defense is an actual factor in this game. You won't get away with the same shenanigans anymore with flawless block, alpha counters and tech rolls

And that's exactly the point, because I wasn't saying it allows more cheap wins, and for that people will want it more than ever.
 
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 had 59 characters. And that was in 2012. MKA had 63 (including the Wii exclusive Khameleon), and that was 6 years earlier.

Bar set. That's why 25 is too small.

Oh, and about TTT2 and MKA; wanna know how many guest characters those 2 games had combined? A big fat ZERO!

Corners were cut to Armageddon to have a roster of that size, such as recycled assets and a homogeneous fatality system. TTT2 is more polished, but quite a few of the characters are derivatives of one another. It should be noted that the mainline Tekken games have a smaller but still decent sized roster.
 
One of Raiden's mirror intro's mention Shang Tsung by saying "The sorcerer is long dead"

If Shang Tsung was in the game this intro really wouldn't make sense. Shit without Shao Kahn or Quan Chi in the story I really don't see Shang having a place at all on the main roster. Bummer

Seems most likely but with folding timelines, that line could be deceiving.

But yeah, Kabal! It was rough without him in MKX. I did my time. I don't even want to see any complaints for anyone xD

Kabal, Shao Kahn and Noob Saibot. I could careless what the rest of the roster is at this point :turbonaughtdy_1:
 
I hope Shao Khan and Kronika are not part of the 25 characters. This will give us additional 2 slots for other characters

I know Shao Kahn doesn't count as one of the 6 dlc characters so hopefully his spot on the screen hasn't been added yet either.
 
Ed Boon said that there is a surprising familiar face in the game. It's possible that Shang Tsung will return much later on in the game as a surprise. It can explain why Raiden thinks that he is dead.
 
The surprise character is going to be Sonya's mother. So now we have all generations because we love this family so much and we can't get enough
 
Kabal is one of the most boring characters from the original Trilogy. Cool design, boring kit... That'll probably change this time around since NRS is juicing everybody up.
 
Watch this 4K footage of the intros and outros, makes it easier to see the detail on the skin, Sonya looks better because of it, she may not be a hot MILF for you horndogs but the face does look better here than any other footage.

But with this specific lighting I don't have much issues with character models anymore... Baraka looks savage, even if all he's wearing is his underwear :lol:

Really can't stand that Scorpion's costume and Subby would look great if he didn't look like Smoke.

Speaking as someone with a vanilla XB1, I'm hoping the game still looks good and runs smooth. I am not going to upgrade just for this.

Yeah with the footage we've seen so far it's hard to make out the details and everyone sort of looked like they are made out of clay, this shows the details more and their skin actually looks more realistic. Yeah Sonya still isn't pretty but she looks better in this lighting than with the stuff we got from the reveal.

I like Sub-Zero's Ninja look and the one with the headband, his primary look isn't that great because of the hat, his facial detail is awesome though and they really nailed the facial animations during his intro, the eyes almost look real. Scorpion looks a bit overdone but I know they are only doing that because they want to set each version of the character apart a lot more than they did in MKX.

No problem, I figured everyone here would like to see it. I'm not sure what res the game will run at on the One X and Pro, I have both consoles but pre-ordered it on the Pro because I like the controller better for fighting games. Also I have injustice 2 on both machines and the One X version looks nearly identical to the Pro, it's only slightly cleaner.
 
You can set how the AI behaves in fights. If you want your Sub-Zero to be a defensive zoner with good anti airs, rushdown with good combos or different mixes. It was used in Injustice so you can see how the AI uses your character in certain ways, or you would use it in modes that let you use an AI as your character so you could grind for gear

So does this mean I can pretty much versus against a CPU of my choosing? Say I want to fight against a defensive Baraka. Or is this just for AFK grinding purposes?

I agree, but it only seems the case with this specific lighting setup. In a match it looks like shit. And his head is still way too big actually :lol: This almost uncanny valley feeling starts to pop out the more I look at it. It's like I want to like it, but then my brain is going "NOPE NOPE NOPE".

Also WHAT THE FÜCK is up with Geras' wrists?! They look bigger than his hands! :rofl: Here's what I mean:

The entire arm looks so wrong... I've seen beginners sculpt better :laugh:

I think Kabal has real potential in this game - the engine and GFX/animations should be able to do him real justice.
 
Kabal + Noob Saibot = Havik = in the game.

Do the math. Noob Saibot's ending in MK9 had Havik, Kabal worked for Havik in Deception. In one conversation Raiden mentions Chaos Realm. Time = Chaos.

He was many times demanded and gained a huge fanbase because of the comics.

Everything is right there for Havik to enjoy, if he isn't in this game, he will never be back.

It would be hilarious if Kronika was just some sort of scam, and a puppet of Havik. :D
 
Everybody is Havik's puppet ;-)

But the possibilities with Havik are endless, chaos = endless.

I mean, Havik uses his own body in horrifying ways, throws his own head, has extreme regenerative abilities, uses raw chaos magic, uses his own bones as weapons, I think Reiko's roundhouse-kick ability fits Havik better, as I think Havik should be able to twist his limbs in impossible ways, maybe even the ability to control the flesh of others while he holds it in his hands, much like the character Masque from X-Men.

Yes, I share your optimism and I think Havik would be amazing with this engine, and he'd be a fascinating character to have as part of the story. My only concern would be how he would fit into it, because we already have several villains: Kronika, Geras (her enforcer), Dark Raiden, and the Dark Emperor/Empress.

If the rumours about Rain and Noob being in are true, and we got both Fujin and Havik, that would finally make up for MKX's disappointing, super-safe roster.
 
Kai seems less likely to appear than Fujin, but who knows?
I said the same thing about Tanya and Fujin for MKX DLC, and she was in.
Kai would be pretty cool to see with this new engine, though.

Which is why I was also thinking that 30 main roster slots would be good for MK11, so that other characters have a better chance of being in.
I’m not hoping for a ridiculous Armageddon situation, but since it appears that tons of MK9 characters will be in it would be nice to see other characters, as well, and I don’t really have faith in DLC.
For MKX the only 3D era character we got was Bo Rai Cho as Tanya was from MK4.
