Even if he is added it's not a full KP3, so my bet is off.
It's only 1 character.

For me to eat the sprouts, it would have to be KP3 with 4 more DLC characters.
Not happening.
Even Injustice had 2 more DLC characters after their initial 4 DLC, but those 2 characters (Zatanna and Martian Manhunter) were never part of a season pass / KP.

As I said before; more stages, kostumes, Klassic kostumes, and Klassic Fatalities? Sure.
4 more characters after KP2? Doubt it.
1 or 2 possible characters? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, and even then that's a big maybe.
4 more? No.
 
Not happening, NRS usually don't support their games that long by adding new contents. Injustice 2 is more likely.
 
Let me put it this way: How can MK11 be better than MKX? Because honestly, apart from a few game modes (motor/puzzle/chess kombat + konquest) MKX has basically everything. It's the most robust MK game to date. Yes, it's missing some characters and stages (obviously as any other game), but those can be now easily added - something that wasn't really possible prior to MKX (at least not so easily). PS4/XONE are here to stay for a couple (3-5) of more years, maybe longer. What makes sense for the next game is to switch the engine to Unreal 4. Better visuals and audio. Cool. And then what? You're going to bring back those 3 silly game modes? Or Konquest that doesn't make much sense at this point considering how the cinematic approach is more preferred and liked. So new gameplay mechanics? Possibly. But can the newer engine enable you to do something you now can't? Gameplay wise. Unreal 3 vs Unreal 4... The difference isn't that big at this point even visually. Sure, U4 is better, but it's not mindblowingly better. It's more about better optimization and easier development than the visuals themselves. And theoretically, PS4/XONE should be/are able to handle Unreal 4 - especially after enabling/unlocking all of their cores. So even if you bump up the visuals to make them look in game like they looked in the first CGI trailer, cool, but what else? MK9 to MKX was a big jump, technically among other things. MKX to MK11? When you really think about, not so much. The bar is already so high that the expectations are even higher. Everything MKX has + more. It's not really a matter of time or resources anymore. NRS have all they need. And people want more content now, like right now, not 3 or 5 years from now. So my question is, again, why make them wait those years when the only thing you're really going to be updating is characters, arenas and story. If that's all you're going to add/mix up, and you're able to add that now... why wait and make a proper sequel if you know it won't or simply can't live up to the expectations? Putting together another 2 hour story mode sure is a lot of work. But only if you're starting from scratch. NRS already have everything they need. Get it? 2 hour story mode, 12 more characters and 8 more arenas... won't take 3-5 years. More like 1,5 years. And then they'll charge us $54.99, we'll download 10+GB and just choose Story Mode - Part 2 in the menu. It's not like they can't do it. And it's not like it doesn't make sense. Story alone, what will there be left to tell post MK11? For a traditional MK game almost nothing. And if anything else, what would you call MK11? MK11? Or MKXI? Don't you see how lame it sounds? I don't see them going any other way than the Street Fighter way. Maybe I'm wrong. But really... you really think MK11 makes sense? To me it does not. MKX = MK Infinite. And those of you who say it's bullcrap... have their mind stuck in the past and think too traditionally... it's 2016 almost... you don't need to have proper sequels every now and then anymore if it makes sense. Similarly to other games and publishers. One proper product with long-term support. Just look at Windows 10 if you must. There won't be any more proper Windows after Win 10. Win 10 = Windows and that's it. Really... just... think and don't say automatically 'no' just cause it doesn't make sense to you right now. Eventually NRS/WB is going to get it as well, if they haven't already. If there will be a regular new MK game called MK11 or whatever I'll apologize. But I doubt it.

They could rerelease MKX with A few more characters and Tag Team mode and I would be fine with them calling it MK11.
 
MK11 can give us a better story mode with a more in depth plot. They need to bring back stage fatalities and could have mini games return too. There is stuff that they could do for a MKX sequel.
 
I was surprised MKX sold better than MK9 on some level. visually it is way better clearly but it lacks on other stuff such as roster count and choices, stages count and story mode. not saying story sucked, but I surely enjoyed MK9's much more. in general, I'd love for MKX to get more content but I heavily doubt it because of injustice 2 (also, if they were to add more guest content, F that, no need for more of this crap). they have proved to be creative though so I think they can come up with cool stuff to add in the next installment but after what went on with MKX, I just hope we get more content on launch

I'am all in for Ultimate MKX, cause, like you, i don't really see what can be done to make next game a level higher than MKX.
Looking at current MKX, i want more characters (Smoke, Fujin, Rain, Baraka), arenas (some claasic ones) and more detailed story mode, with more Outworld, more Shinnok's invasion detailes and other characters playable in it. I don't want NRS to throw it all away just for the game to be called MK11.
Throw in 4 "new" playable characters, so we have 36 total, couple of classik stages, classik costumes and finishers, new story mode chapters, that expand the original scenario, tag team mode and Chess Kombat and that's it, there is no reason to make MK11 on Unreal 4 engine (from scratch) right now.

MK11's story will only cause more unnedeed resurrections of the dead characters, we all know this.

I agree with stages and story mode.
MK9 had 25 stages and MKX currently has 13 (14 with The Pit coming as DLC).
Kinda feels lacking in MKX, imo.
As for story, while I agree that the story felt a bit short, I wouldn't have minded the story being that short it it had been better fleshed out.
MKX story gave us more questions than it answered.
Hopefully with Tri-Borg being in we'll finally get an answer as to what happened to Cyrax, even though individual character ladder endings are not really canon until the next game comes out and they either are proven true or false.

As for the roster count, I disagree.
MK9 had a starting roster of 27 characters (28 on PS3, which includes Kratos, Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero), and MKX has a starting roster of 24 (technically 25 if you count the Goro pre-order), which isn't too far off from MK9.
With DLC, MK9 ended up having 32 total characters and with DLC MKX will end up having a total of 33 characters.

As for roster choice of characters, that's subjective.
I, personally, thought that MKX had too many Trilogy characters on the main starting roster (14 of the 25).
Given that MKX is essentially alternate MK4, skipped Deadly Alliance and ended on alternate Deception, I would have preferred more characters like Fujin, Bo Rai Cho, and Havik on the main roster, but we're at least getting Bo Rai cho as DLC.
 
I think I'm one the few who would like for NRS to make some more brand new characters instead of bringing back more post trilogy characters, but i want them to be less "safe" (the young uns of older characters) and more risky and "Out there" characters like D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr, but at least first include the most requested characters at least but the canonically aged characters that are not Scorpion or Sub-Zero should sit this out at least one game IMO
 
Oh, I'm 100% there with you as far as new non-offspring characters go, [MENTION=12972]ByrdBrain[/MENTION].
That said, I hope that the 4 offspring characters in MKX take over for their parental counterparts in the next game.
I'm hoping that the majority of these 8 new characters return, with 4 more brand new characters in the next game like D'Vorah, Kotal Kahn, Erron Black, and Ferra / Torr.
 
call me crazy but i always thought how neat it would be if MK got some kind of japanese yokai (Like a tengu or humanoid kitsune) an ifrit or djinn and a plant based character it may sound improbable but lets be real before we saw the new characters in MKX who were expecting designs like ferra torr, D'vorah, and Kotal?
 
Ferra / Torr was unexpected, for me, but in a good way. :-D
Kotal Kahn I kind of expected, somewhat.
Even though Kotal Kahn has no relation to Shao Kahn, I did expect there to be some new ruler for Outworld (or "Kahnum"), now that the throne was vacant after MK9.

No, but I did expect another "Outworld ruler" to occupy the throne, which is what I meant by that.
Not to his extent, but I did expect that throne to be filled again.
As far as I can remember, the Outworld throne has never been empty, and (prior to MKX's story mode) I always thought that childish Mileena was a poor choice for a ruler.
 
what i really meant was did you expect it the new ruler to be Kotal initially and this is before we found out his name

Intially i was expecting some massed war for the throne initially shokans, tarkatans, centaurs, etc vying throne instead of the khanum title just sorta being passed down to Mileena due to being the closest thing to an heir

I expected for Outworld to have A ruler by the end of what I thought would be a bigger war for the throne in MKX.
I had different expectations for the war, but Mileena getting the Kahnum passed down was hinted at by Baraka at the end of MK9.


After Shao Kahn was defeated by Liu Kang in MK9 and his henchmen thought he was dead:

Baraka: "Mileena is his heir. She should rule."

ah well for all the questions and wasted potential MKX story had it certantly paves the way for an even more epic story (in fighting game standards) for MK11 if some of the arcade endings are used (Like Raiden's Kotal's Ermac's) Hell even Quan chi's ending would be cool if semi made canon ( It would be even more interesting if that ending was used as a basis for an entirely new character I think it's high time the elder gods get involved by having an enigmatic agent of some kind for them)

As much as I'm disappointed that Fujin didn't make the main roster or as DLC, at this point they should just save him for the main hero role in MK11.
I'd rather have a well made Fujin in a proper game than NRS just bending to pressure and giving us a half-assed character, due to the fans being pissed.
