Tri-Borg?

My cyborg of choice :D

I sometimes played also Cyrax, but mostly Robo Smoke. My friend who I played with on the Genesis was strictly Sektor and spammed uppercuts xD

But tbh, back then, I liked all 3 cyborgs a lot more than I do now. I feel like the current graphics just don't do them enough justice. The suits to me look too bland/generic. Classic versions to me always seemed a lot more buffy and the helmets looked much cooler.

I'm still not sold on the gray one being Smoke, though.

If my guess about Triborg being one of Sektor's clones is true, then it would make sense. Sektor probably had the schematics to Smoke's automation somewhere. Maybe he used them on someone else.

Seems about right.
I only wonder if this also confirms Cryax as being dead in MKX, or if Sektor also just made a back-up on a hard-drive of Cyrax's data during the events of MK9, as a fail-safe in case Cyrax died, after Cyrax was transformed.

it will sure as hell prove Sektor is the best when it comes to back up plans

but i think it's safe to assume his ultimate goal is to either assassinate sub-zero and or seize the Lin Kuei or begin the creation of the Tekunin

also what else would be interesting if this ends up being a new body for Sektor is if like the Old timeline he begins goin insane probably due in part to some hidden damage or data corruption that came as a result from his "death" at Kuai's hands"

I was thinking the same thing. And off of what Commander said, I don't think Cyrax is dead, just based off of the Kittlesten tweets. But also because it makes much more sense for this "new" character to exist because of MKX's variation system. What I'm guessing will happen, because I doubt the variation system will carry over to MK11, is that Cyrax will beat the shit out of Triborg and mess up his programming. Then Sektor's code will take over the body. Boom, Cyrax and Sektor are back in the picture.

Not the best plan, but I'd much rather not have Triborg be the end all be all for MK's cyborgs in the future.

Out of curiosity, was Smoke confirmed by Boon or NRS to be the 3rd cyborg, or is that just a generic tekunin clone / cyborg host body?
I also wouldn't be surprised if the variation system was (1)"Cyrax," (2)"Cyrax / Sektor hybrid / tekunin clone" and (3)"Sektor."

Clones seem to be the safest way for cyborgs to come back into the "no one ever stays dead" scenario of MK, much like Quan Chi used to always be the one to allow for that "no one ever stays dead" plot-point for the living / humanoid characters in MK.

Perhaps some time after she thawed out, Frost rebelled against Sub-Zero and took it upon herself to build Tri-Borg.
I've never known Frost to be a Tony Stark type of scientific character to build an Ultron-like Tri-Borg, but I do wonder how Tri-Borg came to be about before he took Sektor's head in the trailer.

I think he was but like everyone agrees in the form of some probable schematic used on an entirely different person

I mean, it's certainly possible. But I feel like it's probably just a generic cyborg that upgraded the fu** out of himself... Loosely resembling cyber Smoke. But we'll see.

So, is Cyber-Smoke canon now or is this another human Liu Kang, Human Kitana and Human Kung Lao non-canon thing?
Is MKX Smoke (aka Enenra) still dead?
Is this is just the cyborg schematics for the Cyber Smoke that never came to be when Raiden rescued him in MK9?

I doubt anything about this character is canon, and I don't imagine we'll ever see him in an MK game again. Let's be honest, 'Tri-Borg' is simply an expedient result of the variation system and vocal demand for Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke. He must have an arcade ending and character dialogue, and thus some sort of vague background story, but it won't mean anything in the long run.

It's already been confirmed that it's Cyber Smoke though.

Alrighty then. I guess that's interesting. I hope you concept for why there's a cyber Smoke is what they go with then. If they just ignore that little detail, I'm gonna be pissed.

TBH knowing that he is cyber Smoke makes me a little more nervous in how the character will fit into the lore (if he does at all). I guess we'll find out.

If that's the case (which is very likely) then Boon, Vogel, and the rest of the NRS team better have a damn good explanation for Cyber-Smoke if he doesn't appear in the next game and we get Enenra instead.
I know that the whole "no one stays dead in MK" rings true time and time again, but Smoke's story will just get more convoluted if this doesn't get a proper explanation.

Same here.

I 100% agree. Even theyre cool combos and chain attacks and special attacks were so much better in MK3. Hmmmmm.... i just hope Cyber smoke variation has his harpoon.... i cant wait for triborg

You dudes are on that crack if you think MotorMaster Sektor and Cyrax are better than their current digs.

Pulse blasts & Chest saws >>> Nostalgia

hmm would be interesting if he ran into true Smoke aka Enenra and form some kind of obsession in killing him off just to prove he is the true smoke even though he is not
