well, after letting this sink in.. first of all, I believe they should create a horror fighting game. WB can grant access to tons of actual characters and they can add some of their own monstrous creations to fill in the blanks for licenses they can't land. I still think they betrayed the actual fanbase that gave the series the success to begin with, I still believe they're moneyhungry and prefer to serve the casuals as much as I hate to tag groups of people and I'm still not gonna buy any of this. also, my negative comments are strictly based on the choices and not gameplay prejudice as I am sure gameplaywise everyone will look great with the exception of BRC that I actually hate. it's them that ruined the character in the first place. I heavily doubt they'll make him a serious and cool fighter with a 'drunken' style, I just think they'll tone down the five year old humour a little bit
some people have been legit wondering why they made those choices. imho it comes down to this:
alien -> strictly moneyhunger, giving the game the chance to do predator vs alien matchups, the character's popularity etc
BRC -> no clue, unless I'm 100% wrong and they do make him a serious fighter with zero of the childish disgusting stuff and they just wanted us to see that hey, we can turn a shitty character from post mk3 like him into something good. they amazed us with revamps in MK9, in MKX but they didn't take any trash post mk3 character to revamp him. maybe this is what they're after so if someone like Hotaru is leaked to be in MK11 we don't all over the place saying he sucks donkeydongers and have faith in their revamps
cyber trio -> I look forward to see gameplay, I love all of them and while human Smoke is surely my favourite, I am especially anxious to see how cyborg Smoke will play. some people incl. myself thought this was a possibility and they made it reality
as for Leatherface -> I believe they wanted two guests anyway because $$$$$$$$$ but most likely broke another deal down when they heard that Gunnar Hansen passed away in November. I believe their ideal plan would be to throw M. Meyers or Terminator or Spawn in there but strictly because of mr. Hansen's death they decided to go with Leatherface as a tribute. I don't remember anyone asking for him myself (I remember alien requests, meyers, terminator and maybe one or two more but not Leatherface), however, he is a horror icon too and the tribute is deserved.
having said all the above and mentioning how my negative comments are strictly based on choices and not gameplay for obvious reasons, I'd be perfectly fine if they put injustice on hiatus, make a horror game next to get this guests thing out of their systems once and for all, then mk 11 and after those two injustice 2
