It's what I do.

I'm not going to press my face against my screen to try and decipher every curve, every point, every inch of the silhouettes. I know they're not the real deal, they're just place holders.

Some are ambiguous, others aren't. We will never collectively agree who the middle two are, for example, but the guy on the right (looking at the image) is definitely Bo' Rai Cho.
 
It's definitely BRC, yeah, but does that mean he's in KP2 or does it mean Ed is having some fun with us? That's why speculation is mostly pointless.
 
I want one of the remaining ninjas. In order of preference.

Smoke (human and with a hood, no weird hair)
Rain (MK9 style, no arabian stripper bullshit)
Noob

We have only 2, Scorpion and Takeda, I don't know what you're talking about.

3 if you count Sub-Zero, I'll give you that one.

If you're also counting the levitating corpse with a warlock trench coat, the half stone guy with a brown hood and the dinosaurian guy with an outfit made of bones then you're either blind or a hater.

Judge the characters for who and what they are now, not for what they were a million years ago, they were ninjas in the 90's they are very different things now.

Agreed.

Sub-Zero is a Lin Kuei Warrior/Assassin. "I am not a ninja, I am Lin Kuei. Scorpion was a Ninja." Despite that line from Mythologies, I guess its still debatable appearance wise. He was the original palette swap and has the most right (out of the other clones) to carry on the ninja design.

As far as Ermac, Reptile, Tremor, Rain etc. they've purposely have been designed in to their own characters. Back in the 90's, you would be right by calling them ninja's since they were all pallete swaps of Scorpion. But now Ermac is a mummy, Reptile is a Reptile, Tremors's a hard rock fan, Rain is a Prince etc.

If people could see this, they'd appreciate how diverse the roster actually is.

I Just want Baraka. Fujin I think is a must, it was a disgrace not having him in the game playable in the first place.
I wouldn't say no too Rain as his Water-based powers would spice up the pretty bare fighting style of most of the roster, mostly people using weapons and fists.
I really want to see Reiko, revamped in line with his awesome comic book appearance, but I think that'll never happen

No, you didn't get the gist right.

The top comment on most MKX articles on general gaming sites consists of LOTS of people on said sites admitted to being casual fans of the franchise and all of those same people in the same complaint usually follow that casual comment up with "I wanted ________ in the game (referring to Baraka, Cyrax, Smoke, Noob Saibot or Kabal), and would pick MKX up if _________ (again referring to Baraka, Cyrax, Smoke, Noob Saibot or Kabal) was in the game."
Then, you also have that followed by 300 - 400 upvotes of people who also are casuals and comment that they wanted Baraka, Cyrax, Smoke, Noob Saibot or Kabal in the game.

I hate to break it to you, but the truth is that the majority of people who pick up MK games aren't the hardcore fans like me, you and the others on here, TYM, MKO, Kamidogu or any other MK related site.

The majority of the MK "fans" are casuals who would drop MK if their favorite isn't in, hence why dead Kung Lao, Kitana and Liu Kang who otherwise had no importance in the story are in; to appease those people who otherwise wouldn't pick it up.
It's the very reason why the entire Original 7 are in, why Sub-Zero is human and why Mileena, Reptile and Ermac are in.
Did you ever notice how the characters that made the roster are more popular than Styker, Sindel, Sheeva, Shang Tsung and Jade?
Casuals could care less if Styker, Sindel, Sheeva, Shang Tsung and Jade are dead, but they'll be the first to complain, raise a shit-storm and "Wah" the minute that the characters that are more popular than those (like Baraka, Cyrax, Smoke, Noob Saibot or Kabal) are missing from the game.

This. Cannot understand why everybody thinks he will be dead forever, like he is Kobra or anything.
It just feels laughbable and delusional for Baraka to stay dead within the company of Kobra and Hsu Hao.
Even Sindel is not 'dead'.
Baraka is popular, he will be back eventually in one way or another, probably as a revenant with Mileena.
 
Baraka will stay dead for as long as Mileena does.

With this I mean that both will eventually return.
