The biggest issue that I see with an MK vs SF cross-over (aside from lack of gore, which whatever, MKvsDC) would essentially be the fighting system.
Would MK die-hards care for back-to-block in an MK cross-over game, especially with Scorpion being in? Probably not.
Would SF die-hards care for a block button in a SF cross-over game? Probably not.
It worked with Injustice, but Injustice isn't MK, and thus far we haven't had a single MK game without the block button.

The only MK crossover that i see being good in MK is MK vs killer instinct. As they are very similar to each other.
