This thread isn't about making your own DLC pack; it's about discussing the likely possibilities of future DLC (characters, skins, etc.)

If NRS does more DLC characters, which I can't imagine them not, we know at least one will be a female, even if there are only 2 more (I'm basing this off of past NRS games). I don't see Li Mei, Frost, or any other female in the series being as popular as Sindel, just because they are less known among fans (...casuals) and because they weren't in MK9. Sindel would ultimately bring more money in than Li Mei, Frost, Sareena, etc. and Jade has been deconfirmed. I can't see Sindel not being DLC for these reasons. Plus, they already have a lot of her...and her moves in the game. That's a lot of the effort towards making her a playable character taken care of.

I think NRS is going to do at least 2 more DLC characters. We can likely rule out Smoke, Nightwolf, Rain, Skarlet, Kabal, Stryker, Cyrax, Sektor, Noob, and, let's be honest here, they're not going to make Sheeva DLC. With that, I could only see Sindel, Baraka, and Fujin as DLC. Fujin due to fan demand that Ed is clearly aware of, Baraka because this is his last chance to shine since he likely won't be in another MK game for a while, and Sindel because she is the obligatory female and has a larger following than the other female contenders.

The reason Smoke will likely not be DLC is because he is a Faction Kill cameo. I see this as a red flag that NRS wanted us to take note of. He's not coming back this game. He's also a Kustom Kombat assist, which leads me to my next point. Kabal, Stryker, Cyrax, Rain, and, in a way, Fujin are all assists as well. Fujin isn't listed as an "assist", but tornadoes. I mean, that's kind of Fujin's thing is it not? Cyrax isn't listed as an assist either, but, also leading to my next point, I see Predator taking a nice portion of his moves. The same for Sektor. The net, missiles, gadgets. Those all have the capability of going to Predator, and they likely will.

As for the rest: I don't think anyone AT ALL expected Nightwolf to be on the roster, and I don't think anyone expects him to be DLC. His following isn't too great either. Noob has his fans, but Johnny has his signature gameplay. I think they'll save him for MK11. And not that I trust Ed's word, but he said no repeat DLC, so that could possibly rule out Rain *again* and Skarlet. I do think Bo' Rai Cho has a shot, but I don't have high hopes for him, though I'd love if he were DLC. If they do 4 more DLC characters, which I oddly doubt, Bo' Rai Cho would definitely be a top contender.

If we take a look at the pattern, MK9 had 5, Injustice had 6, so maybe MKX will have 7! I definitely don't expect NRS to do only one more. Narrowing it down to Baraka, Fujin, Sindel, and Bo' Rai Cho, who do you think has the best chance? Who has the worst? Am I wrong on so many levels that they're uncountable? Do you agree with my opinions? If you answered no, yes, Baraka, Fujin, Sindel, or Bo' Rai Cho to any of these questions, explain yourself...

EDIT: I just realized I put content after DLC (Downloadble Content), so don't say anything about it.

Of the future DLC, I'm leaning towards Rain and Fujin at the very least. Rain seems to have such a high demand, and Fujin is at least present in the story. It shouldn't be too difficult to come up with variations for these two.

I also think NRS may go for more guests--ala Freddy and Alien to rival Jason and Predator.

You just never know. Regardless, I do think we will see another DLC pack. NRS knows that's extra money, and most businesses won't pass on a profit.
 
I think they'll do another kombat Pack of 4 new fighters with staggered release dates again. Boon did express interest in it, I think. Then again he also expressed interest in making Meat DLC, which seems unlikely, so it's probably best if I don't listen to him. Still though, I think another Kombat Pack would do well, so I think that's what they'll go with. I think it will be one of these three things

1. Rain, Sindel, Baraka, and a guest character (Alien or Freddy or a DC universe character)
Because the first three are all characters who show up in story mode. I know Boon said no repeat DLCs, and I love Boon, but I trust him about as far as I could throw him. He loves messing with us. This one seems the most likely to me.
2. Sareena, Frost/Li Mei, Bo' Rai Cho, and Fujin.
Because they all had Cameo's in the game so it would kind of make sense for them to get involved, though I admit they were probably just there to foreshadow their involvement in the Deception/Armageddon/

3. Kabal, Stryker, Nightwolf/Smoke, Sindel
Same reason as above. I think this one is a bit less likely than #2 if only because these are all characters from the last game and MKX seems to want to move on from the past. Though it wouldn't surprise me if these guys showed up in the next game as lackeys for the new king of hell.

I don't see the Cyborgs coming back as DLC, not just because of predator, but because I think if they're going to come back it'll be a as a part of the story of the next game. I think you're 100% right about Noob. Between Johnny and Kenshi I don't think they'll add in another guy who can spawn copies of himself to this game. I think he'll be important later, but for I'm sure he's out for X.
You're probably right about the assist thing too. It would be weird to play a game as Stryker while Stryker lobs grenades from off screen.... Then again it's weird to play as Stryker vs Stryker but that never stopped me before. I would say it's a good chance that having an assist means they won't get a DLC, but not a guarantee.
If you're right and it's only 3 more DLCs, then I think it'll be Baraka, Fujin, Sindel. Fujin because he's the only Cameo character who both actually fought and was involved in the story from the start. I could be wrong in this, but I don't think Li Mei or Bo' Rai Cho actually fought anyone, and Frost and Sareena seemed to be in more as a foreshadowing of things to come than as super important characters to this story. Sindel and Baraka because they're super important to the story, and in Baraka's case it'll be his last hurrah. Unless someone staples his brain back in, which they might.
 
I just want to see Li Mei as a DLC. The new Li Mei. I absolutely LOVE this new redesign, and it's a shame that it's just a big redesign for just a NPC.
 
Sindel would be nice, but I'm still rooting for Li Mei, I mean she's popular enough to have a good role in the story right? Also Fujin is a must
 
If we are sticking with Story Mode characters it'd should be..

1. Sindel
2. Baraka
3. Rain
4. Fujin

If it's gonna be my way it'd be... (I'd just leave out the MK9 characters.)

1. Fujin
2. Sareena
3. Li Mei
4. Nitara (or Sindel)
 
I honestly don't know what to expect; Boon says one thing, then another, and obviously just likes to with people. I hope we get Fujin, but I think NRS either:

1) Don't like him enough as a character;
2) Don't think there's enough demand for him in the community;
3) Don't know what to do with his variations.

It'll probably be Baraka, Sindel and Rain. :bunny:

Sadly, if there are more DLC characters after the Kombat Pack, I think it'll be this bullshit too, instead of other non-MK9 characters who deserve a chance, like Fujin. :(
 
If it's going to be 2, i'm hoping for Fujin and Sareena or Sindel. I hope it's one male and one female. If it's going to be 3, add Rain.
 
I don't really care if another DLC comes out or not since I've already ran my course with MKX, and there are much bigger games on the horizon to me. But if anything I would want Rain, don't really care for anyone else.
 
In my opinion sindel would be a horrible pick for dlc, I say this because I believe she isn't that good of a character. When did you ever hear anybody say, "sindel is definitely gonna be my main" or "can't wait to play sindel" she didn't make mkx because there is little demand for her, plus we needed new characters anyway... Baraka will always be in a mk game so I don't have to worry about him. Bo rai cho is a goofy character and doesn't fit mkx, plus he's not cool. and Fujin is a beast that will get his time to shine soon enough.

I think the Kombat Pack 2 should come with Fujin, Havik, Reiko, and Sareena. These characters should have been in the game from the start. We've been cheated! In the MK comics, Havik and Reiko play a big part in the comics story, which makes them relevant to mkx. Plus their bad ass fighters that could use an update. Fujin has long awaited his time to shine, and sareena made a cameo appearance, so I think these characters deserve/have the best chance at becoming the 2nd wave of dlc coming our way.

I have a petition with the purpose of telling NRS that these four characters should be dlc. Now I know what you're thinking "another petition? sorry dude but it won't work" now just hear me out, if tremor, a dude that barely made any appearances can get over 5,000 signatures than these characters should be able to triple that.

Just give it a shot, don't be pessimistic, what do you have to lose? You can decide whether or not these characters make it in mkx. So please do your part, sign the petition, and spread the word and this link throughout the forums, facebook, twitter, and even youtube or other social media websites. This is the kombat pack we deserve.

I can see 2 more characters coming, much like Injustice did. Predator is going to make NRS some serious bank. And WB will want to milk the dlc train as hard as they can.

Never listen to Ed. If screwing with the fan base for fun was an Olympic event Ed would take home the gold every year.
That being said, I have no doubt that Chrome will show up as a character in the future. In MK12, after MK11 is full of hints and secrets that tell us in no uncertain terms that Chrome isn't real and never will be. Because that's just how Error Ninjas work.

I assumed it would be a Silver ninja who was basically just Colossus from the X-Men.
Doesn't it come from a misprinted Sub-Zero with Silver arms instead of blue ones?
 
What DLC do I expect?

More Scorpion skins, of course. We still don't have that Ghost Rider Scorpion skin, or that Yakuza one, or that Kane (WWE wrestler) one, and so many more.

But on a serious note, I actually ain't too sure what to expect, besides more Scorpion skins.
