About Jade's future

But then that wouldn't be Jade anymore if the woman takes complete control over her.

It would just be like if King Jerrod managed to become the dominant soul in Ermac. It wouldn't be Ermac anymore it would be King Jerrod.

Ermac/Jade would just be the vessel they're using. Yeah, they'll look and most likely sound like said character, but inside, they're not really them anymore it's a totally different entity. So really, Jade wouldn't be Jade anymore despite the woman is using her body.

That is why I cannot stand those possessing stories. They're just so bleh.

It'd be really awesome for Jade to return, possessed by the mysterious woman, making her weapon have more powers.

I have an idea for Jade... How she would be like and look like if she was in MKX. But as with most fan fiction, it's just amateur work. I might post it when I've put it together and designed her.

Well, Kitana has spent like half of her story under evil influence or brainwashed. Sindel has literally more appareances being "brainwashed evil" than being good. I dont think that having a possesed Jade for a game would be so terrible.

Yeah but those things you say aren't good things. We shouldn't be eagerly anticipating more bad writing with the justification that there's already precedent for bad writing in the franchise.

If Jade is going to be in the game, they should figure out who Jade is and why I should care. If they can't, then just have the green spirit woman be playable as a separate character.

She's going to be added just for the sake of fans, most of whom like her for T&A. That as much is obvious. I mean have you seen the whining about her sitting out a game? The fallout was NUCLEAR.

Personally, Jade The Character, is so irrelevant and easily replaceable at this point, that she can rot in the deepest depths of the Netherrealm. "Bad gurrll" role is taken by Cassie. Her signature weapons are taken by Kitana, demonstrating how easy it is to make a 2 in 1 character (people still believe she's done it as a "tribute"???). How many characters are glowing green, or having abilities that almost outright copy hers? Too many. That leaves her with an almost pitiful "sexay" shtick, and MKX made sure that this ain't happening again.

Having another character take over would not solve the issue. That will only make her look even more pathetic.

Ergo, she's null. Nothing. Zero. This WON'T be easy. Sorry!

I'll agree just disagree that being possessed for a while is bad writing. And even then, the Revenant stunt NRS pulled this game shows they can both develop the normal character and the "canon" character via skins.

I was going through the Story Mode writer twitters and found some interesting tweets re: Jade from Brian Chard.

"Don't count Jade out yet" - https://twitter.com/bcharred/status/588076709318131712
The Mystery Woman and Kitana's MKX ladder ending - https://twitter.com/bcharred/status/588159166361038848

Well, it seems that the lady is in her plans right now.

I would love for her to come back, her and Mileena were always my favorite 2 females in MK.

Because Mileena ending has an army of Mileena's. While that obviously is not gonna happen, the idea of her either still having clones somewhere or Shang Tsung making her again isnt that farfetched. And Jade was revenant-alive last time we saw her too. Baraka as far as we know is neither, but I'd see him coming back if Shao Kahn or Mileena rose to power again.

Baraka likely became a revenant in MKX, after he died, or he was sent to the NetherRealm.
Shang Tsung is also likely dead, so yeah, the idea of him making any other clones any time soon is very far-fetched, just about as far-fetched as you saying that Baraka can't come back but Mileena and Jade can.
I believe that John Vogel saying that "Nobody ever really dies in Mortal Kombat." is a statement that stands true for ALL MK characters, not just the ones that you cherry-pick.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Well, recently the developers outright said he wasnt dead and i thought becoming a revenant was something Quan Chi did, not something that happened by default when souls descended to Netherrealm.

And i did say

Baraka as far as we know is neither, but I'd see him coming back if Shao Kahn or Mileena rose to power again.

the reasons i see him eventually coming back but i dont think he will in MK11

i just dont think it's gonna happen in MK11

Becoming a revenant isn't an instantaneous process. It's something Quan Chi or Shinnok do specifically -- this is consistent even in the old timeline, when it happened to Mileena.

Vogel says Tsung is not dead. Several ladder endings in MKX imply this, as well.

Speaking of,
Now that quan chi is dead, do they all have their brains back, just very tainted versions?
Liu Kang and Kitana seem freed from Quan Chi's control, but still have full intent of ruling the Netherrealm.
Does this mean people like Sindel, Nightwolf, Smoke, and Kung Lao have free will with evil intentions?

Brian Chard said on Twitter that "we will see" but yes, they clearly have more free will than they did before. He also suggested perhaps Bi-Han became Noob Saibot because he wanted to be Noob Saibot. That is to say, it brings out inner evil or whatever.

I hope Kitana's ending is partly true about that whole Jade vision. I think it'd open up a seriously big amount of doors for future plots if she wasn't a revenant, but a possessed mystery girl who is completely unique.

They can revive him in literally the blink of an eye.
Spoiler:
Wouldn't be that hard to make Ermac's ending canon.

As they can do with any other character.
No one stays dead in MK, which is the point.

Seemed pretty instantaneous in MK9.
The characters died in 1 scene and suddenly they're all just there as revenants when Raiden appears in the NetherRealm.
I think you're confusing revenant for resurrected, which Kuai and Kanzo were, but the other revenants weren't.

No.
Vogel said that Shang Tsung isn't inside of Sindel and that his power didn't get transferred into her, but he said no such thing about Shang Tsung not being dead.
Which ending alludes to Shang Tsung still being alive after MK9?

Liu and Kitana were not freed from Quan Chi's magic.
Sonya even said to Hanzo that they needed Quan Chi alive, in order for Raiden to free the other revenants.
