Reptile makes me sad.

Reptile has been a lizard since mk hit 3d, so it doesn't bother me anymore. I am however never impressed with his designs, it's just hey there is the lizard character now. He is on of my mains, at least his designs now are better then when they first started making him a lizard. As far as what is right for the characters, I do feel like they are taking the right direction with them. Emacs looks/movements/voice is spot on for what a character like that should be like, same for reptile.

I don't really take issue with him not being hidden in human flesh.

It's always his attires post MK3 that rub me the wrong way.

Something like this would get me playing Reptile again.

I like that design. I'm a fan of the MK4 reptile as well.
At this point, why does he even have a mask? They need to stop half assing it like someone else said. The split mask is just weird to me.

Sub Zero is not trash. The dude has some good combos, his slide is dangerous as hell, and he can take a combo-machine opponent and neutralize them with the right timing.

Goro is also damn strong in the right hands.

Liu Kang is Liu Kang.

Johnny Cage is awesome.

Shinnok... has never been better than Shang Tsung. Then again, Shang Tsung was reduced to a joke last game and thus Shinnok is cooler.

I look for that slide to get a free 25%+ dmg combo. I'm not looking out for anything else because he has nothing compared to majority of the cast

You know a character model is bad when his name is reptile and you know he's suppose to look like a reptile but the only animal you can think of every time you look at him is a parrot

My main problem with human reptile is that it links him too closely with scorp and sub. reptile is NOWHERE near their popularity nor their power canonically. Having human reptile just seems to put him up there with them where he doesn't belong. People already complain about having "too many ninjas" in one game where reptile and ermac have both distanced themselves from that stereotype. Having him be a lizard separates him from the rest of the cast and adds diversity.

as for his design now, It's not perfect but its a step in the right direction as it exhibits a more primal side. I liked his MKSM costume because it had more mystery to it. although i want lizard reptile I really don't want full fledged lizard like DA. keep him mysterious but don't make him too animalistic. Ive honestly seen reptile as the most ninja-like in the sense that his punches aren't powerful but he attacked in dirty ways that hurt a lot.

TL;DR keep him lizard but keep him more mysterious

I don't think there's a problem with making him a lizard, but it's the way they made his head shaped
It looks like he has a beak and he looks like a bird

they fixed his head shape, yes. its his mask mostly. In MK9 his head was shaped exactly as it was in MK2/3. adding the mask made him look like a bird. In MKX his mask is literally a beak shape. His alternate does away with this illusion though. I can see how people can see the bird but Its not on the forefront on my mind every time i see him though.

well he is a mixture of different lizards so I wouldn't be surprised if that was their angle. I would prefer he had a mask which looked like a lizards mouth though but not the movie one, I didn't like that mask.

I've been playing some Reptile lately and I think he is absolutely great! So very fun to play as with some cool combos and specials. I love his alt costume, fits him so well.

The Kobra (second last) concept is definately the best of them all.

I still think they made a mistake by showing all those off.

Yeah, pretty good, although it's generally only the head that's different; they all seem to have a very similar variant of Reptile's default costume. I hope we do see a couple more for him and Ermac, as they're both characters I like the look of and whose gameplay I enjoy.

I'm gonna start playing some Reptile I think. Not touched him in MKX so far.

God damn, I miss Smoke and Rain.

He's getting a Klassic skin in one of the compatibility packs. It'll be his UMK3 skin.

I love that intro. It has so much personality. So yeah, Rain is fabulous. Have you seen his MKX costume? The man sure likes to show off. And the intro also shows his power of storm. He doesn't just control water, he block out the sun with heavy storm clouds, he can make lightning strike from the sky, he can spin like a hurricane and be ready for battle without feeling dizzy or nausiated.

If you don't like Rain, then yeah, he's an easy target to make fun of. "lololol he spins like a ballerina"...
I'm actually impressed that ballet-dancers can spin like that without getting dizzy. I know I can't. Not to mention ballet is a beautiful artform that's considered sophisticated and has been so for centuries. So alright, compare Rain to a ballerina, nothing wrong with them.
