Okay, let's tier the available Ladder Mode endings by how they will be used after MKX:

Happen For The Most Part
-Raiden (see Story Mode's ending)
-Kotal Kahn (Gives him something to do for MK11)
-Scorpion (Tied in with Raiden and Kotal's endings)
-Kenshi (Ties up the Red Dragon's loose end)
-Kitana (Looks at Kitana's character)
-Kano (Introduces Kano's son)
-Ermac (Shang Tsung is back!)
-Mileena (Gives NRS an out from D'vorah making her head into a bug feast)
-Reptile

Iffy
-Kuai Lang (not sure if NRS would go with Draconinjas)
-Ferra/Torr (Depends on how long after MKX MK11 happens)
-Quan Chi (Gives Quan something to do in MK11, if Boon and Co. won't let him sit out MK11)

Didn't Happen Beyond Backstory
-Erron Black (He shoots Cassie and Co. dead)
-D'vorah (Turns Shinnok into a manmomma, takes down the realms)

I have the game since Thursday since it was surprisingly available at my local gamestop shop. I played the story mode yesterday.

It was completely unnecessary to purchase the comic. There has been nothing about the Kamidogu or the blood demon. The next thing I don't understand is the fact that Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana are "alive" on the roster, yet they remain revenants through the whole story. Is that fan service only? This is the only thing that bothers me. Otherwise the story was great and beautiful.
 
I don't agree with the term "wasted spots", but I definitely think Kitana, Kung Lao and Liu Kang shouldn't be in this game. Those primary costumes should be alternates. It's an inconsistency for sure. People then say Noob, Smoke or Cyrax should be in the game instead of them, but they'd be just as wasted in my opinion.

Then, of course, considering the roster lacks villains, they added FOUR NPC in the story mode you fight twice: Baraka, Sindel, Tanya and Rain. Mortal Kombat X just felt very random and inconsistent all along.

Don't give me wrong, this story mode is FAR BETTER than MK9. While still corny and cheesy, it's also much more serious with a more solid plot than MK9 ever tried to be. However, it felt short, much shorter than MK9, with many lose ends. They could have added more chapters for sure, but then again, what villains would you fight? They killed FOUR of them in the story: Baraka, Mileena, Quan Chi and Shinnok (kind of). Kotal and his forces were definitely neutral, Scorpion and Sub-Zero ended uo being good guys too. Only Kano and D'Vorah ended up being the only true villains alive.

I actually loved the ending, I guess I am the only one. My question: will Cassie and Kenshi's endings be cannon? I would like to see Shujinko and Daegon again. Daegon in particular I feel has lots of potential. I guess Red Dragon is dead.

Edit: We have finally seen the intro with "your brother succumbed easily"..
 
But when did Mi had the time to sleep with Baraka was she cheating on Reiko or maybe was a one time thing

Also 2 complains: Why are Liu and Lao acting like kids in their intros and Sub in the Quan Chi intros acts just like Bi Han
