Bloodborne

I'm honestly thinking about picking the game up this weekend, but I never played Dark Soul 1 or 2. So I have no idea how the game plays, but I'm willing to try it even though it's said to be hard and frustrating.

You don't know how frustrating it is until you experience it. The biggest sting is to finally get pass a sequence that gave you trouble just to lose to the next one and have your progress erased due to the lack of checkpoints and scarce savepoints. It's controller hurling inducing. I have to keep reminding myself that the controller is expensive in order to keep myself from throwing it across the room. This is coming from a guy who NEVER rages at games. Still, I continue to play. Why? No guts no glory!

The game definitely benefits from legacy skill. So if you haven't played a Souls game before, then every concept will be foreign to you.

But the entirety of combat is about spacing and patience. If you've got that then you're good to go.

The people that havent played Demon's souls / Dark Souls 1 & 2 are really lucky, because iv played so much through them I already know whats about to happen etc.

I highly recommend people to play through Demons Souls & Dark souls 1 & 2, just believe me and do yourself a favor.
Come back when you finished it, lol cya in 4 months.

Im pretty sure most people in this thread have

Bruzzrad do you know if Tear Stone or Gold Pendant have any uses? I want to break them open for the blood stones, but I remember that the Red Brooch was a quest item that also could be consumed.

How many Blood Echoes did you just lose?

All of them. After getting blasted by the Cleric Beast, I decided to go back to the village and grind exp. I made one mistake and a villager killed me. At that point, I shut off the game and vowed to never play this game ever again because it's been nothing but aggravation. I enjoy a challenge but this is ridiculous.

You do know that you can go back to where you died and pick them back up right?

I do, but that still doesn't change the fact that the Cleric Beast keeps shellacking my ass. I know if I ever do beat the Cleric Beast, the game is only going to get harder and less unforgiving. This masochist type of difficulty is not for me.

I feel defeated :(

Have you tried summoning?

You should use your PS4 to record and upload an attempt of the fight, we could help you out.
Cleric is a pretty simple boss.

Here you go.

The fight starts at 1:15. I don't know why the video quality is so fuzzy here. It looks better if you watch it on my channel.

You have a good plan, it just needs some fine tuning.

You space yourself too far away from him. I realize that you're trying to bait him, but when he's that far away you spend most of your opportunity trying to get to him as opposed to punishing him immediately.

I also noticed that when he did that arm slam attack, you ran up to his body to attack him when you could just hit his arm. Take advantage of your weapon's reach.

You seem to panic roll when he gets close.

I recommend locking onto him. @3:28 you panic rolled because couldn't see what he was doing.

As intimidating as he looks, you want to stay very close to him. Circling around is the best way to bait him. Circle towards his weak arm of course.

All else fails, Oil Urn + Molotov does huge damage to him.

You're right, I was panic rolling. That's a habit I have to break in order to progress in this game. Alright, you've convinced me to stick with it.

I don't know for sure. The tear stone just gives you a tiny bit of health regen. (I could barely notice.) This requires investigation. After From fixes my elevator glitch at the altar of despair...
