Official Friday March 27th Kombat Kast Diskussion Thread

Erron Black: I liked the variations, he looks cool.
Liu Kang: he is a badass but his variations are not so creative.
Shinnok is a little disappointing.
Sub Zero's second fatality: I didn't like it.

I sincerely prefer the one we have seen when he invades Earth.

This one is cool, but that one the crown is waaaaaaaay cooler (my sig).

Reminds me of classic Shinnok but in a horn style.

But guys, the unlockable character. Did Fujin's odds just go up? :O

Yup.
With Erron Black having a Tarkatan arm on his back in 1 of his variations, as a sword, I'm definitely taking that as a hint that maybe Baraka bit the dust in MKX in a cameo scene.
Fujin's chances of being unlockable look better, IMO.

The jumping man and roster screen are the same one.
It really didn't look like that to me at the time, but having studied the jumping man pic and the video, I think you may be right.

I guess that's his main, then, and the story mode one is his unlockable alt.

Gosh, I ADORE Shinnok's outfit. I agree it's a little jesterish (which to me is an enormous PLUS, since I love jesters), but it simply gives that dark fantasy vibe that fits him like a glove. I love pretty much everything about it. He looks out of a dark fairy tale book (and that is TOTALLY my thing). He looks so different from the rest of the cast and, yet, so much more above them. Don't give me wrong, his NW costume is good as well, but I dig his alt. My opinion only.

Pretty hard to notice because you got full view of that outfit and jumping man pic is only from the side.

Yeah, in the jumping man pic he looks like he's wearing less clothing, as if it was a more close combat style costume ala Liu Kang. The one on the roster screen also seemed to have a different hat, but it could just be the lighting/angle. If you study them carefully they do actually look very similar - especially the sides and bottom half.

Hopefully we get a 'Klassic' costume for him at some point, with his MK4 look. :)

Sure, thanks. Is there an official channel with the stream in HD, though? Or is it just people who recorded the stream via software?

I always watched/dled the streams uploaded from random people, but they are complete and in HD though.

I don't know if NRS uploads them and when, however you can still watch the stream on twitch.

I got a response!!! :D

Awesome stream! Only Shinnok's look is too jester like. Also Erron getting Baraka's blade? Baraka would fit MKX the most! :( @DylanTSnyder

@OTBrewery Thanks a bunch! And hey, that's what alternate costumes are for ;) And that may or may NOT be Baraka's arm :D

yup they clearly couldnt think up much interesting moves for erron so just stuck a tartakan arm on his back.

Yeah, I like his NW costume better, but this one is good as well--it gives him more of a "devil" vibe.

It's the exact same costume. Compare to the render.

It certainly matches up with us seeing Liu Kang and Kung Lao fighting the Tarkatans in the "25 years ago" time period (well, it's not clear what period it is, just that it's not "25 years later"). Baraka is alive there and dies at some point during Kotal's rise to power, during someone's flashback.

Obviously there's no guarantee this is true, but all the puzzle pieces we have so far do come together quite nicely.

Welp, opinions.
It's MUCH better than Kitana having Jade in 1 variation, IMO. (Not trying to attack you, personally or anything, just saying)
The arm on the back just replaces the shotgun for 1 variation.
No biggie, IMO.

Agreed.
Either way, Fujin's chances of being unlockable went up by A LOT, in my book.

p.W stop deleting your posts! lol I was just quoting you...

I have deleted precisely zero posts today. Dunno what happened with whatever you were trying to quote, but this one's not on me!

Really? I like him scavenging stuff like that from his years fighting the denizens of Outworld. I remember having that theory when I thought he was the archer!
