Leak? Johnny and Sonya in-game models from story cutscene

nope! new sub-zero!

Great rebuttal.

It also depends on how their resurrections work. They might have just come back in whatever form they were in as wraiths--for Sub-Zero, Quan Chi might have made him ditch the cyborg look; for Jax, he still had his metal arms.

Well, i can survive to this roster if it turns out to be full of Special Forces people, yet i'm disappointed due to the fact that there's so many characters with so much potential from post MK3 games and they're not getting a chance to shine :( . Even in the mobile trailer they skip the years where MKDA, MKD and MKA came out, such a shame :/

Maybe Jax got revived with his original arms.

Then he encountered Ermac on Outworld.

And he wanted some revenge. GOTCHA!

And Ermac thought "lol Imma rip his arms again".

If that was true, I would hope Sub-Zero to be right near them, so he could give that awesome help he gave on MK9.

There's no need to be surprised about the inconsistencies in Mortal Kombat lore.
I see it like this:

- NRS brought Kuai Liang back as fully human, because the majority disliked him becoming automated.
- NRS brought Jax back with the metal arms because the majority prefer him with those arms.

It's simple as that. They might make up some lore-canon reason for why it's like this, but those are the main reasons.

Thank you so much for this. People need to get their head out of their ass when trying to justify something that's inconsistent with the lore/story. It's MK, when has the story ever been consistent?

This reminds me when people were arguing about MK9 being an alternate universe because of the fact that Kombatants that were not present in the Original Timeline's Tournament were in the New Timeline's Tournament.

No geniuses, it's because the characters simply weren't invented at the bloody time.

The only thing I'm iffy about MK9's story was the whole Kitana and Mileena thing being retconned.

Why would Quan Chi do that, though?
Why wouldn't he also consider the option of keeping them all the same and under his control (as per MK9), or just making new NetherRealm creations from those dead warriors like he did with Bi-Han and Hanzo?

I thought you liked original different characters too, which is everything Cyber Sub-Zero is not.

But sin as much as you want, life is too short my friend!

I don't base my wants and likes on what is original or not. I thought it was a very interesting twist and I admired NRS for taking such a step with such a popular character. The fact that they switched Smoke's and Sub-Zero's fate like that is part of why I enjoyed both of them in MK9. I was never a fan of Smoke before MK9, nor did I care about Sub-Zero all that much, though I liked how he had evolved as a character throughout the franchise.

I would have preferred if he stayed like that, but you know, so many people whining about it.

I respect that you preferred it that way, but as you said yourself, you don't care for Sub-Zero at all. The Sub-Zero and Cyber Smoke fans had the most right to complain.
