Too much goodguys in X?

It's obvious that when that horrible leaked Roster is reality that this game is SERIOUSLY gonna lack badguys!

Goodguys:
1) Sonya Blade, no way she is evil
2) JOhnny Cage, no way he is evil
3) Jax, can start out evil with Quan Chi, but will be good again in the end, I don't count the Quan Chi slaves as evil.
4) Kitana, same as jax but will be good in the end.
5) Cassie Cage, no way she is evil.
6) Kung Jin, sounds like THE ONE from Matrix, is really not evil, maybe just a brat.
7) Jacqui, daughter of Jax, maybe she's evil, surprise me please.
8) Raiden, maybe neutral, but I don't see him become fully evil in this game.
9) Sub-Zero, see Jax and Kitana, but this could be a wildcard. Still think he's goodguy in the end.
10) Scorpion, goodguy in comic, probably also in game.
11) Liu Kang ,even if he's an evil fire god, I will never count this loser as evil guy, he's probably liberated in the end anyway.
12) Kung Lao, Same as Jax, kitana and all those others.
13) Takeda, no way he's evil
14) Kenshi, no way he's evil

Neutral Guys:
1) Kotal Kahn, well I'm gonna doubting this because it seems the game is lacking evil guys, he probably turns evil in the end...
2) D'vorah, same as Kotal
3) Ferra/Torr
4) Reptile, working for Kotal so yeah.
5) Erron Black, probably
6) Ermac, I don't know about this guy, he's probably neutral and a wildcard again.

Evil Guys:
1) Mileena
2) Kano
3) Quan Chi
4) Goro
5) Shinnok

So these would be the only pure evil guys? I'm now 100% sure the interesting Kotal Kahn will turn into a boring Shao Kahn 2 again in the hands of Ed Troll, and not into the cool character Kittelsen made him into.

This roster will leave Mileena on her own, Kano without any members in his clan and Quan Chi without helpers others than turned goodguys... Really NRS? I just can't believe that could work out... Especially the Black Dragon with only one freaking member...

I expect many goodguys vs goodguys fights in this game.

Are you happy with this results? Or should more badguys join the fight?

How will this affect Kotal Kahn?
 
uhm, if this is the real roster, there is a serious lack of badguys, that is a fact.

That you eat any food that Ed Boon throws at you is your little win-win situation, not mine.

Anyway, that soccer-avatar tells me enough, next please.
 
You're making way too much of a fuss over a Gamefaqs "leak". Calm down and wait for the actual roster because you give yourself a coronary.

If that's the actual roster, then it's definitely harder for NRS to craft a story around it that includes four fights per chapter. Some of the good guys will be bad during the Netherrealm War and Kotal's group, presumably being neutral, will fight both good and evil, and will be fought against by good (and evil - but we never play as them), which gives a lot of breathing space. Will it be enough? We'll see.

I personally don't care too much either way. Story mode is an afterthought. Character alignment plays zero role in the meat of the game, which lies in the one-on-one fights between me and other players or the CPU, and that's where I'll have 95% of my fun.
 
Stop complaining before you even know the characters' alignments. Maybe Kotal has tricks up his sleeve and is actually evil or something.
 
Well I do care about the story, so they better not freak it up after that perfect little comic books.

I'm not happy with goodguys that gone bad... that is cheapness extreme. There are more than enough badguys that lived through MK9.

This way we can contain the negative thoughts to one thread instead of having them randomly show up everywhere, though. I like it.

And I understand where the OP is coming from, I raised the same concern yesterday. If the leak is true... Quan Chi and Shinnok? Chances are they're going to be done in the story very quickly. So we're down to just 3 straight up evil characters. Compare with MK9, where we had Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Sindel, Kintaro, Noob Saibot (on top of Quan Chi/Ermac/Goro that this game has)... just an endless lineup of the bad guy heavy-hitters in the MK universe. And they still had to resort to unforgivably stupid fights like Kitana vs Smoke in that game. Now, this game doesn't have any of those bad asses, and we're supposed to hope that those kind of fights won't exist anymore? I dunno, man. It's tough. OK, so maybe Kotal's great character development will be sacrificed on the altar of "this game needs a villain," that's just one guy.

If the leak isn't true, though - and I believe it isn't - then there's still room. Even two more roster slots, going to characters like Tremor and Reiko (just for example), make a significant difference.
 
ah, I think its little to broad to break the cast down by bad, good, and neutral. I mean you have chars like Cassie, and Kenshi who fit that "good guy" archetype but they are so drastically different in aesthetics, and fighting style so they feel very different regardless of being good guys, and there are other cases of this too. Maybe you should break it down by the common MK universe troupes like factions/realms imo? Also this is very difficult to discuss when we don't know the full roster, just saying.
 
Where are you from? Your grammar is atrocious but I understand if english isn't your first language.

As for this topic, I can see where you're coming from, but at the same time you need to get off of your high horse when it comes to the story and how bad it may be. At the heart of it all it's a fighting game. The story is a nice additional bit but it shouldn't be the main focus.

You put way too much stock in "leaks." I bet you were one of those people who believed all the rumors about MK9 having Motaro as a playable character, lol. :bird:

And if the prediction/leak is incorrect, I doubt it will be because of it's choices, but because it was only 24 characters. If there's any more, and there likely is, then I don't see a problem here.

Rumors are rumors. If you believe them over actual confirmations, I don't know what to tell you other than eh... don't jump the gun?

We don't know the actual story of X. Yeah the comics gives us some insight about what the story could be like, but we don't know anything about X's story. Who knows, Kotal might not be such a neutral character in X.

And I strongly doubt the writers are that dumb to make a story that has a good chunk of its roster to be good while a wee bit of them are neutral and evil. That is dumb, as well as believe rumors and get that upset about it.
 
I don't think you realize this, and this may come as shocking news, but I have to tell you that this game isn't designed to please YOU and only YOU. Stop acting like you're the center of the universe and that what YOU want in MKX is all that matters. Quite frankly your opinions are extremely irrelevant and unpopular.

Just because you find a character 'boring' or 'stupid' doesn't mean everyone else does. The fact that you spend majority (if not all) of your time on this forum complaining, attacking other people's opinions or criticizing Ed Boon's creative/design choices proves you are an ungrateful, immature little twat. Don't buy the game, I'm sure Ed Boon & everyone else will live.
