Wanting new character = not wanting the same repeated stuff.
Unlike you, I want to see some variety in the roster and see new characters getting the chance to shine.
Don't act like you all of the sudden want new characters for the sake of debating, when you very well know that the only character that you care about is Johnny Cage.
You try to mask that by saying that you're Ok with Cassie, but deep down inside you're butthurt because you're favorite could very well get killed off and replaced by Cassie in future games.

If Johnny Cage was gonna be playable I think he would've been the one with the "Hollywood" variation, since he's the actor. May sound too simple, but really, why would they give Cassie that variation if he was gonna be playable as well? Just makes me sure he won't be in. Pretty much the same for "Spec Ops"/Sonya.

No doubt they will be in the story, but I really hope they won't take up spots on the roster that could go to other characters. If they do happen to be playable though -- then they really should've differentiated Cassie more from them, otherwise what's the point of her.
 
At this point it seems like the entire MK9 roster is going to be in. Dead or not. I fully expect Jax, Sonya, Cage, and Liu Kang to be in. Probably night wolf and whomever else I'm forgetting too.

I admitted that I actually want to see new characters EVEN THOUGH I wont use them..

Why would I say that I want new guys just for debate when I JUST ADMITTED that im not going to even use them anyway.

All exaggeration aside, I do expect about half the MK9 roster, which is more than I was expecting originally.


Likely: Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Liu Kang, Jax, Mileena, Ermac/Kenshi

Maybe (better chances as DLC): Shang Tsung, Baraka, Cyrax, Smoke, Kabal, Ermac/Kenshi

Unlikely: Kintaro, Shao Kahn, Nightwolf, Sektor, Sheeva, Sindel, Stryker, Jade, Noob, Rain, Cyber Sub-Zero, Skarlet


Ermac/Kenshi are combined because I don't see both making it in if Takeda is telepathic. We'll probably get 1 of the maybes as a surprise, and 1-2 more maybes as DLC, but I'd bet on the likelys all making it and every unlikely missing MKX entirely.

You've only mentioned new characters in your last post when all your other previous posts are about "Waaaaaaaaah, classic characters, blah, blah, blah, blah."

You can still be a fanboy of 1 character and like others too, which doesn't seem apparent in your case....

I've said countless times that I've wanted to try out Kotal Kahn's "Sun God" and "War God" variations, as well as Torr's "Lackey" variation.
You'd notice that if you actually read any of my previous posts in the past, regarding those characters, instead of just being ignorant ASSuming.

I love this franchise since I was just a kid, I will buy it and play the crap out of it just as I did with all MK games but their direction is heavily flawed imho. instead of bringing the same ones AGAIN they could finally give a chance to chars that weren't given the chance but have potential and instead of the niece of the cousin of the aunt of kung lao's grandpa, they could have just come up with new characters in earthrealm to defend it, outworld and so on. also, not a fan of shitty names such as erron black, forrest fox or generic ones such as takeda. I sincerely hope the next game will be the chance of Rain, Fujin, Skarlet and such chars to shine and grow because as it is atm, we'll get all the typical ones and the DLC will probably be characters that are classic and will sell crazy such as sektor, smoke, baraka etc. I also am certain that Tremor is one of the new chars group due to that petition thing and high demand.

It's been a long time but Boon confirmed there will be at least 1 MK4 character and 1 post-MK4 character as well.

Quan Chi is the "at least one MK4 character"...and new characters fit the "post-MK4" criteria because it's literally true.
