There's a lot of possibilities. Salazar could have been his name earlier in development, or that casting call might have actually used some fake names after all. Either way, I'm almost certain they're one and the same.

I'm convinced you're right about this. And I already thought up a hilarious backstory/bio:

Often ridiculed as a child for his Wild West fantasies, quiet-natured Salazar abandoned his species the first chance he got, by slipping into Outworld while it was merged with Earthrealm during Shao Kahn's invasion. In his new adoptive land, he worked as a gun for hire and soon enough became the legendary outlaw he always wanted to be. Currently serving under Kotal Kahn, his quickdraw abilities immidiately shut down any potential threats to his master.

Me too. Upon further observation, his costume is WAY too detailed and intricate to be created for a throw-away character. I would be surprised if he's not in it, and heartbroken as well. The look alone sells this character to me.

Actually, I did.
I'm not sure if it was THIS thread or another, but someone mentioned that Fujin "can't be in the game because he's wearing a different costume," and I replied that it doesn't matter because Sub-Zero and Kano are both wearing different costumes in the first comic than their in-game counterparts.
 
anyone got link to the full comic? comixology will have it in couple of hours and the buy button on google play doesn't show up for me
 
That cowboy dude better be in MKX. His design is fantastic. Haven't read the issue yet so I wont comment any further. But I adore this guy already. lol

This guy Erron Black, I hope he is in the game too. So Kotal is fighting Meleena for outworld. Omg I hope meleena is not the big bad >.<
 
I read the whole thing on 4chan. OMG, now I am so hyped!!!

Erron Black looks really cool. I really hope he's playable (likely). Would give MK the variety it needs. Maybe he's one of the boots?!

Salazar is a different character as far as I'm concerned. I don't see the connection at all.

Frost in the comic looks perfect. Why can't they bring her back like that?

I'm also starting to love Cassie.

Sonya looks OK, but I sure hope that ain't her in-game constumer. Too similar to Cassie's.

Cassie hating Sonya and vice-versa is really interesting and is one of those interactions Ed talked about. Will be interesting to hear their dialogue.

So we were right about Kotal and Mileena and D'Vorah. Great! I hope Kotal kills Mileena haha.
 
Yeah, Kotal is great. After Cassie my favorite from the new bunch. But I might change the order depending on if Erron Black is playable or not. Looks like a phenomenal dude.
 
Im sticking to my opinion, Sonya and Johnny will not be playable.

Erron Black looks awesome. I hope that is who gets revealed in the game this week.
 
Finally read issue 4... well.

First thing I noticed. The ring and cassie cage clothes are different from what Raiden saw in his visions. Which means:

A. Artist doesn't pay attention to details.
B. Raiden's visions aren't 100% precise and they can be a bit off. Which could be used in story like Raiden failing to see some small important detail.

As for the most important part in this comic FOR ME. I pretty much know what will happen in issue 5. Frost will kick Cassie's ass for a bit, then Cassie will get serious. She will overpower Frost and will make her first kill. That way NRS will get rid off of Frost and will keep going...

As Frost fan that should make me sad, but it seems this Frost is as arrogant as the one in previous timeline. So off she goes.
The only thing I will be sad is the missed opportunity with her.

Also Kotal Kahn is a live example of "don't judge by appearance"

I think Frost will get killed no matter what though.

Frost working for Kotal Khan? Lol. Mate you don't really know her do you? That's the one who was stupid enough to freeze herself with her own powers. And just because she got over her head with dragon medallion. I can tell already that they put her here just to kill her off. Same as Hsu Hao

P.S Also that hairstyle for Frost... godawful.
