What loose ends do you want tied

I think this one I'm about to go into is extremely important:

We all know that at the end of Armageddon, that Taven "killed" Daegon and then went on to defeat Blaze. Per MK:A's Conquest Ending and Taven's arcade ending, if you tie the two together, you'd come to the conclusion that all the Kombatants became stronger (the unforeseen outcome), everyone killed each other til it was Kahn and Raiden left, and then so begins the MK9 story.

HOWEVER

Vogel tweeted in response to confusion, that the original intent was to have Taven defeat Blaze, but in the end SHAO KAHN defeated Blaze.

Right there is the loose end, how the hell did Kahn manage to bypass the son of an Elder God, as well as all the other Kombatants and defeat Blaze? Did he kill Taven himself before reaching the Firespawn? The possibilities are endless, I can go on and on.

This has been eating at me because I want FULL closure of the previous timeline.

Kitana and Liu Kang's relationship please! This has been going on since MK4 and I feel like NRS finally took it up a notch in MK9, but it still is not enough. I want to see it expanded on.

Also, I really want to see Jade and that woman that possesses her in her arcade ending from MK9 in MKX. (If she even ends up in the game) I just hope she isn't like some sort of Ermac-type character.

Also Mileena and Baraka's, I want to see it fleshed out like in MKD.

Of course it's a BIG loose end.

Vogel said that they "don't know what really happened to Taven". They "left it open".

That's why I hate non canon. Brings us insecurity.

For Shao Kahn, I have no idea how he escaped Onaga, and I have no idea if they turned that non canon (poor choice of non canon holocaust).

But the whole Armageddon battle Shao Kahn is kicking butts, and it's funny becauser the pyramid rises on his feet.

(...)

Anyway, for Taven, I have a theory. Considering Raiden's first flashback was the battle against Taven, in order to stop him and Kahn win, then spare Earthrealm, we can assume that fight is canon.

But We know Taven never won. So between that and Blaze, something happened.

What I speculate is that Raiden defeated Taven, and stopped him from completing his quest, due the flashback.

Then why Raiden and Shao Kahn were in the top of the Pyramid of Argus?

Because Kahn killed Blaze, absorved his power and became all powerful. Raiden, who completed his half of the agreement, went there to charge Kahn to complete his.

But Kahn betrays Raiden, kill him and "kill Earthrealm (Vogel's words)".

Makes sense for me. He avoids Taven from completing the quest, Kahn wins, Raiden now wants his half of the deal, but Kahn is all powerful, and Raiden see the BS he has done.

I played Mortal Kombat Mythologies for the first time in ten years a few days ago and when you go into the Netherrealm, Raiden tells Sub-Zero only individuals with darkness in their hearts can enter. However, in MK:2011, Raiden is able to freely enter the Netherrealm. I'm wondring if this is because he's the god of thunder or a plothole...

Which brings me back to what I listed as a loose end I want to see concluded in a previous post on this thread: IS Raiden inevitably becoming corrupted?

In MK9, Raiden had a few of the cast's deaths on his hands because of the shitdecisions hes made before he got to the Netherrealm. I believe he was able to.gain access, because his heart had an ounce of corruption already rather than a plothole.

I think Raiden being a god allows him to go to any realm he wants to.

Raiden has access everywhere, but he loses power when certain places, like Outworld.

Of course this is a confusion, on MK:SM (non canon, but a reference) Kung Lao suspects why Raiden was on the Netherrealm, and it turned out to be Shang Tsung.

Anyway, I think he does enter everywhere, but only has full power on places like Earthrealm or the Heavens.

Raiden is not evil, he is just a little bit mad. And he never became corrupted, he was only a shadow of Elder God's omission.

Must be a pain to stand millenia alone against many idiot threats, sometimes you get pretty pissed off.

I want Dark Raiden to be a thing again. I found him much cooler and alot more interesting because of it. Finally being fed up with everything and wanting to do whatever it takes to destroy any advisery.

The way things are sounding, Shao Kahn sounds like the ultimate badass. There's a reason why he's seen as the "legitimate boss of Mortal Kombat" and you guys are proving it. Not only did he make it to the end of the final battle, he possibly defeated Taven, a halod, and the dragon king Onaga. We really should have a origins game for a lot of these characters and Kahn is definitely at the top of my list for that, along with Reptile.

I think, what I'd really like to know is: What race is Shao Kahn truly part of? I know most people claim that he's half Outworlder half Tarkatan but, if that is the case, wouldn't there be more like him somewhere?

He can't be half-Tarkatan, as he created the Tarkatan race by breeding Outworlders with Netherrealm demons to make the perfect loyal super soldiers.

I believe it is said in one of the games (possibly MKD), that Shao Kahn was to Outworld as Raiden is to Earthrealm, a protector god who was also the advisor of the Dragon King, Onaga. However, he gave up his power to rule Outworld himself, poisoned Onaga and took the throne. All this most likely because he was corrupted by the One Being, who would awake frim its slumber when all the realms were merged together into one once again, and then consume the universe... or something like that.

Really? I've never heard that about him. I think people were using the way his face looks beneath the helmet to justify the half Tarkatan theory. I really have no idea what species he could be, I'd imagine just some race that died off and was merged with Outworld.

I am not certain of where I heard this from, but this is the explanation I believe is canon.

Thats why I was under the impression even a God has to be taint to enter that realm.
The fact that game was non-canon pretty much trumps my theory.

How did shao kahn even get back to the armageddon fight? In the intro video onaga grabs him and flies off into the distance with him. He had one hell of a walk back.

Actually since the beginning, according to a recently unearthed Kitana concept art during the time of MK1's release.

Man, his moniker is "The Konqueror" for a reason. :-p

I'm guessing that, when Onaga took him away from the battle, he sealed his own fate. He must've found out Shao Kahn was really about dat life and ended up getting dealt with.
