Just because two dead characters are back does not mean more will be, And just because they are not showing new characters now doesnt mean there wont be many.. I agree with those who say NRS is just getting the returning ppl out of the way first.

Isn't it possible that perhaps this is really Mileena?

Mileena survived, she is a clone, and the mask is on. Based on what we know about the multiple fighting styles, maybe this is "Kitana", but really Mileena and she has adopted her "sister's" fighting style, but she will also have her style as secondary since she's standing in as Kitana now?

I also like the theory that she was resurrected by Quan Chi and is under her control, that's a possibility.

I really like like her design, it is typical female overly sexy, but I like it. Very welcomed reveal.

And the variations don't change enough between each other to support that.

Am fine with kung and kitana returning. The characters i will get mad if they return and i will consider them a waste of spot are stryker nightwolf sheeva khameleon skarlet kabal sindel taven deagon jade frost johnny cage jax and sonya

I mentioned this in another thread! I think it could very much be possible. Especially when you consider that Mileena had pretended to be Kitana in the old timeline during the events of Deception.

Aren't you jumping to conclusions? Raiden not acting surprised could mean at some point in 25 years before kung Lao was revived. And I'm sure there will be a reason.

I agree this means anyone could come back. But to act like something was retconned is jumping the gun.

Out of all the ones listed, he would actually make the most sense to return! Oh well to each his own, right!

The problem with this though is that why bother calling her Kitana when it could just have her be named Mileena who just decided to start wearing blue?

And seeing how Smoke couldn't even tell the difference between who's who with them, I doubt she would have a hard time pulling off her being Kitana in pink.

Couple things...

1- Calling her Kitana would serve as a plot point. Lots of players won't know/expect it to actually be Mileena.
2- seeing as how they found out that Mileena wasn't Kitana during the events of MK9, I think she would have realized she needs to dress as her to be passed off as her
3- Mileena has done this before. During Deception. I don't think it's all that crazy of an assumption to make that she starts pretending to be her again to receive more control.
 
Karen Strassman did had Mortal Kombat X under the title of "Mortal Kombat 2" in her resume. So I had a feeling that Kitana was going to be back. Not to mention Ed Boon drop a hint on Twitter a while back saying "No one stays dead forever ;)" when someone asked about Kitana.

Even in Deception, Kitana's soldiers knew of Mileena. The only reason Mileena's Kitana hoax actually worked back then is because Mileena was widely believed to have been killed by Kitana at that particular part of the story, and as a result, none of Kitana's soldiers were suspicious of the mask Mileena was wearing to hide her Tarkatan mouth (such is even mentioned in her Deception ending).
