I see I'm a bit late to the party.
Either way, thanks for posting a write-up of the comic, Harpoon.

It seems like all this happens years after MK9, so Kenshi could easily join the Special Forces in the mean time. As for his son Takeda, whether or not he is the same Takeda as we know from the past, we have yet to see. I imagine the son is named Takeda in honour of the former one, but again, we'll see.

Glad to see Scorpion doing something else than being angry and vengeful. FINALLY!


Also... Does Scorpion look human on this? He's got pupils and iris'.

I read the comic a second time and I can't believe I read over the neatherrealm part :mad:. As for Sub-Zero and Raiden looking for the Kamidogu, it could be that Raiden knows about them from his original timeline counter part and wants to destroy them before Onaga could ever return. I can't wait for issue #2 though!

I think it's simply Bi-han freed from Noob Saibot.

komik - takes place prior to MKX (MKX spans 25 years) - During the komik
He is freed from Quan Chi because of the Netherrealm war or whatever. During the komik Sub Zero receives the scar
willing to bet komik sub zero is a younger version of Sub Zero/his alt costume in-game.. and his primary costume is his "25 years later" form when --
his scar has healed

Ok, let's imagine Takeda will be in the game. He can die in the comic (already an adult, as it seems by #4 description), but let's imagine he will be on the roster.

What powers can he have? I mean, will he have any power? Can you imagine some? It's interesting to think!

He is the son of a swordman which uses teleknetic powers. Yet, Kenshi achieved this after being blind, with Sento. And Kenshi is away.

His mentor is no one less than Scorpion, also a swordman, but master of the Kunai and has his hellish powers.

I can't imagine what he will become. Maybe a Hanzo 2? Well...hope Scorpion teaches him how to win a fight against cryomancers, if he becomes like he was before death, because...we know what happens.

He controls his anger. When he got angry on Red Dragon, his eyes were white again.

That's what Kenshi meant with "Hanzo defeated Scorpion".

It was a figurative expression to say that he has overcome that vengeful creature and now finds his way through discipline.
 
I have readed this first chapter of comic. Again happen the same, subzero is the idiot here, for what? is an abuse, now kano can piss to subzero.
And i don ´t see very fine use an object for a kamidugu, seem a ripoff of from stupid harry potter ´s horrocruxes idea.

about scorpion ´s anger or demon status, they have ripped off idea from hulk now, always is like this, scorpion is the smart and sub-zero is the stupid.

And maybe this subzero is Bi Han, idk I am not satisfied with the resulting
at least they tried show a frame for make expectations, imo comic is bad i think

I'm not using it as a confirmation, just as a possibility for MKX Kung Lao.
It's the same way that Sektor being in charge of the Lin Kuei after MK9 is a possibility.

Until the actual game comes out, the endings can be seen as both canon and non-canon.
Some ending have been known to come true or be semi-canonical, as Noob Saibot's MK: Deception ending told us of him being the original Sub-Zero.
 
Completely agree with scorpion being more Hanzo than vengeful wraith is a great storyline. He's always been my favorite too but he had to be taken in a new direction. I hope they don't retire him after this game though. Just wouldn't be the same.
 
I just thought about something...is that Kamidogu blade that Kano is using the same blade that Kortal Kahn will have in the game?
I remember hearing something about Kortal having a story about how he got his blade.

I hope they can put Sub-Zero to his legendary status just like MK:DA-MK:A times and both maybe could make that MK9 ending come true.

Imagine both fighting together.

Man, if they retire Scorpion it will be a big loss. Anyway, he never dies, he will be always there.
 
After reading the comic I begin to understand what the MKX story will be about.

Right after the MK9 events (MK1-3) there will be a kind of a MK4 story part where Shinnok and Quan Chi try to conquer other realms (Netherrealm Wars). This is where Scorpion learns the truth about Quan Chi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzVXDDGmjcw
(I am already hyped up!) All the dead characters from MK9 will stay dead until the end of the Netherrealm wars.

The MKX Sub-Zero during Netherrealm wars will be Bi Han. This is evident by the intro leaked by the user "Bi Han MKX":

Quan Chi: Blue colors... again?
Sub-Zero: And you fear them.
Quan Chi: I do not repeat old mistakes(or something like that, I dont remember exactly what Quan Chi said last)

After the Netherrealm wars all the dead Earthrealm warriors will come back to life. This doesn't mean that they all will be playable in MKX. We will see cutscenes during story mode. As we know Kung Lao will be playable and, most likely, unlockable. Maybe one of the dead will be playable too. I would bet on Kitana.

Kuai Liang will return in his human form as well. I always thought that both brothers will come back in MKX because of the story spanning 25 years. The Sub-Zero from the first comic is most likely Kuai Liang serving Raiden. This is where he gets his legendary scar. The reason why the MK Sub-Zero doesn't have this scar is his primary costume (Bi Han). I am sure that the alternate costume wil be Kuai Liang with his scar and the appearance from the comic.

I am really hyped. The new way of story telling is amazing! Netherrealm wars, Scorpion's new role. The part of the story with Kotal Kahn, Cassie etc. is most likely about 20-25 years after MK9. I believe in the MK team! MKX will be a great game. Don't judge them too early.

The comic takes place in the middle of the MKX story. After the Netherrealm wars and before the other following big events.

PS: Scorpion wins! Fatality! This is why Hsu Hao should have been developed. Perfect role.

Oh god.. Who let you back in here? Why do you keep purchasing MK merch if you are consistently dissatisfied with the results? I'm not saying you have to like everything MK related, but it doesn't even seem like you like MK at all at this point.

I've been wanting to see Scorpion and Sub-Zero team up for the longest time.
Maybe they can form an uneasy alliance and kill both Shinnok and Quan Chi in the 15 year mark, but then the question remains:
"Who will be the 'Final boss' character for MKX?"

Well, I think Quan Chi should be punished for what he has done.

But if I could dream beyond...Scorpion should DEFEAT him, not kill.

His death won't bring him peace. It's time Scorpion to understand the difference between Justice and Revenge.

You know, Rolling put that thing about Daegon. It's funny. Raiden is probally asking people to retrieve Kamidogus...Special Forces is after Daegon...Armageddon is postponed (IMO), so Taven won't wake up early...Onaga may not appear...

Seems like Raiden is putting people to TOTALLY change the timeline. He is really trying to END Armageddon.

I won't be surprised if Daegon is someone to be beaten. Or even...THE ONE. Not anymore.
 
If this takes place after the Netherrealm invasion then I would imagine Quan Chi and Shinnok are defeated pretty early on. If the Sub-Zero in the comic is Kuai Liang then he could have return back to normal after Shinnok is defeated and was able get his human body back.
