Lol the Final Round thing I don't have too much of a gripe about, I don't like it because I thought it separated MK from most fighting games. But on the other hand, Fatality preceding the name, that is irking me to no end. It just doesn't sound right.

I'm guessing issue number 1 is cage and Sonya's issue...really let down ..it seems they aren't going to be in the game .

It's just an aspect of Mortal Kombat that doesn't need to change. Same with the Fatality preceding the name. Why change things that have been the way that they have since the beginning?

How does them being in the comic = not being in the game?
Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Raiden (who are all in the game) are all in the comics, according to the artwork and recent issue #2 & #3 leak, so is Kotal Kahn.

Doesn't seem likely, to me, given that Ed Boon hinted at both of them being playable with aged variations, and Cassie being able to do fatalities on them.
I also don't see how getting killed off, if that happens = not playable.

Anybody else still holding out for this Johnny Cage?
With Cassie taking over as the comedic relief, I could see Johnny being taken a little more serious.
I'm sure it wont go to this extreme, but I can still hope..

They could die in the course of the story mode and still be in game..I just don't want them to die....they can do other things with JOHNNY cages story..he could become an overseer like in his mk9 ending or somethin.kill Sonya if you want but damn keep Johnny .i feel like cassie cage is going to be orphaned or something ..like she's going to have some kind of Peter Parker story.

Lol I didn't see your post till after i posted but yes,I agree..cassie could be the comic relief and JC could be made into something much better..

It would be cool to see his enhanced force ball to be used as a Kahmehameha attack lol.

You of all people should know by now that even the double post rule has been poorly enforced as of late, as well as the rule against thread bumping. And pseudo-modding doesn't get you anywhere.

Johnny Cage should still have his sense of humor even if they go for a more serious driven character this time around in my opinion.

I've wanted this for him in MKX, prior to Cassie being announced.
Taking a more serious role would be a good change to see for the character.

I don't see Johnny or Sonya dying young, if they do get killed off in MK9, given that Ed Boon said that we would see aged variations, hinting at those 2.
It wouldn't surprise me, at all, if 1 (or both) of them get killed at the 25th year, giving us 1 variation for Johnny and Sonya at the 5-year mark, a 2nd variation at the 15-year mark and the 3rd variation being at the 25-year mark.
 
If Sonya and Johnny die, I think it'll be at the end of the story. If they do die, oh well its Mortal Kombat. They'll come back eventually, they always do. I don't think they will kill off Johnny and Sonya though.
