Select screen official music

Fit like I glove? You mean they timed punches to the beat. Besides that no, it didnt really fit at all. In the world of mortal kombat where you have ****ing ninjas fighting with magic powers

Fit fine for me. Something with ninjas can't have rap in it? What kind of logic is that?
Oh, this game has ninjas and fighting, so rap isn't allowed! IMO hip-hop fits PERFECTLY into fighting games.

Maybe you just don't like rap and you hate on it every chance you get...
Ten bucks says you didn't even try to listen to any of the words...You're probably one of those people who thinks he's rapping about cars, money and woman..

"Cross me once that's the end of you - who's next?"

I don't dig the whole movie score approach MK is going with these days, I like fighting games best with actual themes and songs. That's one aspect I can easily say the competition outclasses MK in.
Case in point

I agree, Some classic MK themes could be remixed in a way to give it a theme, but its probably a bit late for that

The more I listen to it, the more I like it.
And the more I doubt that this is the select screen music.

Is there any confirmation on that?

Ill admit Im not the biggest fan of rap, most of the groups I like are the oldies like nwa and wu-tang. But its not just lyrics wise, its thematically. Im sorry but rap doesnt fit a dark and gritty world like MK, the general consensus was that the music choice was awful, sorry to say but you are in the minority here.

Also cool it with the ellipsis, it just looks silly ;)

90's hip hop was the greatest.

Since you said you're not the biggest fan of rap i'm guessing you never ventured into the darker side... so i'll give you a pass.
It depends on what kind of rap you listen to... Old school DMX was pretty dark, heard of the Gravediggaz? Cage? Necro? Circle Of Tyrants?

Now don't get me wrong as much as i love listening to grittiness like mob deep - shook one's part 2... I don't want to listen to any rap, rock or metal in MK at all, i prefer what NRS have come up with.
The last thing i ever want to see is MK having a soundtrack like previous WWE games/WWE2k15... coz that sh!t is horrible.
And my favourite select screen music will always be MK4, that game has the most sickest OST.

Doesn't matter if i'm in the minority or not.
Just because everybody jumps off a bridge, doesn't make it the right thing to do...
Rap fits fine into the dark world of MK. Rap can't be dark? the instrumental itself was plenty dark

Again, you just hate rap, so you hate on the song.

I can agree that N.W.A is BADASS.
Eazy-E is hands down one of my favorite rappers.

"boy you should've known by now, Eazy Duz It"

..........Never

The only rap group that was ever any good is the Beastie Boys...

I like rap but I just don't want it in my Mortal Kombat. I prefer MK to strictly be instrumentals. Agreed on MK4's sound track.

I hate it. It reminds me too much of MK vs. DC. The select screen music is supposed to get you pumped up and ready for the fight. This is the opposite of that

I know all about necro and mr. hyde and those other dudes from his record label (psycho something cant remember)

I like them dont get me wrong, but I still think that it doesnt fit the mk world. I even feel that Necros lyrics can be a bit too much for mk actually. Mk is violent and all but it doesnt really go into shit like raping a girl and then dismembering the body haha

But yeah like I said Im not just talking about the lyrics but rather the musicality and feel of it, I feel like it clashes with the set atmosphere of mk.

Lol why you gotta keep saying I hate rap? Its not my favorite music genre, but I definitely dont hate it

All im saying is that I dont think that it fits MK, its not to say that its bad, just that it doesnt seem appropriate.
