Roster Speculation

My guess the 12 will be:

1. Sub-Zero
2. Scorpion
3. Raiden
4. Kano
5. Johnny Cage
6. Sonya
7. Ermac
8. Kenshi
9. Cyrax
10. Fujin
11. Havik
12. Quan Chi

Ed boon said that a few characters from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era will be in it. I think we will see one from MKDA and one from MKD. Kenshi and Havik fit the bill in my opinion.
 
You know... if we get both Johnny and Sonya... and there's a chance we will... I think many people will be pissed and will cry that one slot could've been used for someone else.
 
Johnny and Sonya most likely play apart in the story mode. It would be cool if they made them only playable in the story mode, but I doubt that it will happen. It won't surprise me if MK11 pulls off a MKD where they bring back a lot of old fan favorites while throwing in some new ones.
 
I'm fine with Havik, but I've always liked Hotaru much more. I love Seido and its premise and I ADORED Johnny's ending in MK9. Those two should come back. Considering the original 7 are most likely in, and Ermac is a good possibility, we can assume Quan Chi and Shinnok are certain sooo... we're only left two old characters... Yeah... not liking the odds... 24 is too small for a roster IMO but with three variations they're probably going as fas as they can go with the character's uniquess.

There's also DLC, which people are forgetting about.
I'm pretty sure that MKX will have 12 (or more) new characters, with some of the MK9 favorites and other post-MK3 characters being DLC.
6 - 8 MK9 and post-MK3 characters as DLC is fine with me, if it means that the new characters get a chance to shine.
 
The thing is... I seriously doubt we will get more than 4 DLC character. MK9's DLC was a flop. Sure, we got costumes as a bonus... but the price was over the top and just 4 characters, when Ed said they'll be "aggressive", seemed... it seemed as if they suddenly forgot about the game. I wanted more and I expected more. It's the best selling game and you release just 4 characters?

That's why I'm being cautious this time around and not expecting anything at all. Even those 4 will be a miracle. I don't think we're getting arenas, though. There'll be 12 of them and that seems like enough.

DLC was not a flop, it went up in sales with each character. Ed Boon actually WISHES they did more. But they had already started on Injustice, which had more DLC characters. meaning they did do good. If MK9 was a flop, they wouldn't do more with injustice.
 
I think MKX will have 6 DLC characters similar what Injustice did. My issue with DLC is that the characters have no role in the story mode. Rain could have fit in the MK9 story mode easily.
 
Damn that sucks. I was really hoping Sektor was going to make it in.

Oh well. I still really like Torr and Kotal.
 
As far as new characters go... (i do not really support the following) could there be more lin kuei or white lotus introduced? I mean that would kind of correlate with the whole family thing and Ed boon did mention cousins...
 
If none of the DLC characters from MK9 are out then I guess Kenshi and Rain out. I still hope for Havik and Bo' Rai Cho since Ed Boon said that we will see a few characters from the 3D era.
