Is Ed Boon sure he's doing the right thing?

In the end it just didn't work. I mentioned in a previous post that when you have an established series as MK - 20+ years and counting - it just isn't about radical changes anymore, and I'll stick to this point. It's nice seeing that Ed Boon and co. are willing to take risks, but it is a fair point to say that the same strategy (sudden changes) didn't work previously. It's also why I'm worried: back when Armaggedon was released it was mentioned that that game would be the one to wrap up the MK story and characters as we knew it and the next one would "start fresh". That was a great risk already, but at least the intention was clear. Years later they decide to release a reboot, which includes most of the fan-favorite settings and characters... only to say "to hell with it!" in the end, without developing much a new timeline. It's no wonder why some are complaining or, at least in my case, are worried as to what that means. I take this massacre into consideration and think about certain new characters (D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, even Kotal Kahn/Khan) and it reminds me of DA, really.

Once again: yeah, let's wait and see. Maybe a few years from now we will look back and discuss that big "massacre event" in the new MK's timeline. I just hope that there are enough familiar elements left (without going for the cheap route of ressurection) that it won't leave a bad taste in mouth.

Well,i think the era you mentioned is great in terms of storyline,the problem was gameplay.DA and D expanded the MK mythology and developed a lot of characters that were very dull before,IMO.About the fan favorites returning,yes,thats complicated.If they return with Kung Lao,people would question why Nightwolf can`t too,and the massacre scene gets pointless.In the end,i get to agree with you,this reboot was very problematic.

Uhm You were bit**ing about how it's your money going into Netherealm's wallets and I told you to simply not BUY the game if you feel that strongly about not wanting to give them money for what you consider to be unsatisfying work.

I also told you that I'm not nearly as sensitive to things like "x" character being excluded and so I feel no urge to flee the series any time soon. How are you having such a difficult time processing this?

If you're not going to flee the series over sometbing you don't like, then don't tell anyone to do the same! Only a damn hypocrite does that!

Ed, Kid NOVA understands your busy schedule but he needs to know if the 3 variations are similar for every character as in each variation is grouped into a same category like zoning, combo, teleport, etc. Btw is Reptile in the game?
 
Imo, no character that was gone should be back at mk10,they are gone and fans should acept this. Only sindel was fine. And cage imo seem more a large dream during mk3. And any attempt to bring them back, it´s shall be a childish and stupid story mode like always stupid jhon voguel does.

ye ye :D co-stupid creator of mk.ed boon ´s lickers balls, always have 0 objetivity :D. I preffer a dead franchise than a stupid reboot and mixes with the stupid dc characters, and is not a hatter opinion, is a realistic opinion ;). So nobody shall censor to me, fvckoff with boon :D........ is more while you hates realistic opinions more you will become a hater XD

I always love the mortal kombat series since the beginning. The only ones I don't like playing is MK4 and MKvsDCU.

But for the ones that don't like modern mortal kombat, why do you stay here, on a forum for fans ?

Considering the global positives reactions of fans, it is pretty sure Ed Boon is doing the right thing.
