Let's discuss possible SubZero storylines

Not quite so.
When MK8 was originally being done (the original Mk reboot game that was supposed to happen instead of MKvsDC), the concept art of that MK1 Sub-Zero looked VERY much like MK X Sub-Zero.

...Huh.

I fail to see how reusing design aspects from an old concept contributes to a theory that still doesnt make much sense.

MK X Sub-Zero's outfit still looks nothing like Bi-Han's outfit from MK9 besides the color. (and even then, his mask is a dark gunmetal bronzy color)

I think he's talking about this one

From the Mortal Kombat 1 remake they were making.

Scorpion was dumbfounded with Sub-Zero because he thought he had killed him already. That was why he said you are not Sub-Zero. He thought he had already killed him.

It wasn't because of what Kuai and Bi-Han were wearing either because in Quan's "vision" to Scorpion, Sub-Zero was actually wearing Kuai's gear, not Bi-Han's (talk about shitty writing on their part).

That goes to show there Is enough of a resemblance to confuse the two though.

@Araknyd, I don't know why you are thinking I'm saying the cryomancer variation can't be Bi-Han. I was just saying it most certainly does not 'lean' towards him like you were implying. It's up in the air, but I could see that variation being Kuai's before his because of the cryo-armor.

Also, I would be fine with both Bi-Han and Kuai. However, if they bring back Kuai what purpose does Bi-Han serve? You could switch that around and also say what purpose does Kuai now serve? It also just kills Noob Saibot and I don't think anybody wants that. The only capacity I could see Bi-Han showing up in is during flashbacks. Like maybe Kuai is resurrected and Quan does send Scorpion after him. Maybe Kuai tries telling him the truth and he has flashbacks to the past trying to see differences between Bi-Han and Kuai.

Bi Han wears his own gear in Quan Chi's vision. How could he be wearing Kuai Liang's clothes when Kuai Liang didn't become Sub-Zero until he died?

@BBLP

Watch it. I just watched to make sure I was right. He has MK9's primary attire on in that vision. Idk if the costume started out as Kuai's or Bi-Han's but it's definitely the primary attire. They're brothers, maybe they shared clothes.lol

Speaking of costumes I'm going to be the first to say it here I guess. I hate MKX Subz mask. I do not like it at all. Looks like something from legacy. That's just my opinion though. Nobody get their panties in a wad.

When Kuai Liang's chapter first starts, Smoke makes a comment about him wearing Bi Han's clothing. So it was Bi Han's before it was Kuai Liang's.

I personally love MKX Sub-Zero in every way. The sick ass headband he has, the mostly black mask that he wears, the padded armor, everything <3

Ew, it's silver not black. It looks like something Smoke would wear. Not a fan though. I hope we get some sick alts. Cryo-armor please.

Kid NOVA has a strong feeling that sub-zero is bi-han.

1. Why would Kuai go back to the Lin Kuei?

2. Why would he call scorps a dog?

Kuai is a good guy. :)

The exact same question was raised in the original timeline...he ended up taking over then.

Kid NOVA missed that. Good point.

Now if only someone can answer the 2nd question. Why would Kuai Liang call scorps a dog?

Btw is MK9 Sektors ending cannon? He became GM of LK.

Yep as Tarkatan Trash pointed out, Kuai would go back to beat Sektor and take back the Lin Kuei. I'm pretty sure Kuai would want yo settle the score with him.

Also, the "Shirai Ryu Dog" line does sound Bi-han"ish", but think of intros outside of story mode. If Scorpion and Sub-Zero do become allies then wouldn't they still set up lines from the past when they were rivals?

Like it wouldn't make sense for them to come into the fight like this:

Sub-Zero: Hey bro, wanna fight around a little bit?

Scorpion: Nah, I'm cool.

Sub-Zero: Oh you.

It just doesn't make sense. Scorpion and Sub-Zero may be allies, but their intros don't have to show that because the characters have a past with each other. Throwing in clan rivalry shit makes sense.

"This fight will be your last" most certainly doesn't sound like Kuai either, or so we thought.

That is true. Even though Kuai has that good boy image there were times in the story he displayed his cruel violence.

3. What about the iconic scar? It does not appear on this Sub-Zero.

Btw, Noob Saibot ripping apart in the soulnado sounds very plausible. Perhaps Noob & Saibot get ripped apart and Saibot becomes one of the 14 new characters of MKX? Noob becomes sub-zero? But that would be a disaster because this one played Noob Saibot in MK9 a lot....

The scar was dropped in Deception. This initially created speculation that Deception's Sub-Zero was Bi-Han, but the lack of a scar later turned out to be a moot point due to the Noob Saibot bombshell that was dropped in the same game.

The scar was assumed to be the way the Lin Kuei marked Kuai for death after he decided to leave the Clan in protest at the cyber initiative.
However since neither Sub Zero betrayed the Lin Kuei in the new timeline, there's no scar. Kuai did have his scar in MKvsDC, but that game was not canon so it doesn't count.

Also one thing I don't get about this Noob/Saibot thing is, if Kuai is seperated from the Saibot then how will the Saibot use shadow clones on his own.

I could see it happening, the shadow clone gimmick seems to be Scorpions thing this time around with his third(?) variation.

That's because I wasn't referencing MK9.
I was referencing the MK8 game (which was supposed to be an MK1 reboot) that was in pre-production before Midway scrapped it, which also had the following concept art, which BBBLP posted below you.
The Sub-Zero costume in the supposed MK8 reboot (minus the mask) resembles the MK X Sub-Zero costume very much.
The project was scrapped and we got MKvsDCU instead, but chances are very likely that the MK8 game would have featured Bi-Han, since it was supposed to be a reboot.
NRS would later make MK9 the reboot game, instead, after being bought out by WB.
VVVVV

YES!!!!
Thank you!

I couldn't post this picture in my last post because I was on my phone.

The same ex-NRS artist who did this pic (Vincent Proce) also did Sonya, Kano, Raiden and Scorpion concept art for MK8.
The Scorpion one resembles MK X Scorpion too, IMO.
