Which platform will you get it for?

I'll get this for PS3 first and then when they release the komplete edition, I'll get it for PC & PS4 again :D

The game is being made for Next Gen, and is then being ported over to current gen.
There's no telling how botched it's going to look on PS3 & 360

This is my concern too.
It's not being ported over by NRS.
Saving between now and November shouldn't be a problem for me.
Plus there's also Uncharted 4 and MGSV: TPP that I'm looking forward to.

Although I'm an "Xbox guy", I played MK4 and Special forces on PS1. My Dad had a PS3 he never used, the x360 controllers I felt would just not feel right for MK9 game because the corners on the D-Pad kinda makes it feel like one button. So I actually went with MK9 for PS3 and i'm glad I made that choice. But this time around the X1 D-Pad is muuuch more better, the corners are not part of the button so it makes moves (for example: Noob's Blackhole: down, back, forward) would be much easier to do (normally) on a playstation controller rather than a xbox original (MK:DA) or xbox 360 controller. But like I said the X1 controller specifically the D-Pad has been improved for a more precious button "mash". I'm comfortably getting this game for Xbox One, hoping for different bundles(and/or DLC treats:_smile:) like MK9.

It depends on port team talent really, and preorities they choose to follow.
You know, you can simplify lighting effects and replace some 3D objects with 2D pngs and cut some little non major detailes from levels and in the end have a good enough overall picture, or you can do nothing and get poor looking product, but with every small thing in the place.

We know the PS4 version will be in 1080@60fps. They just need to scale down the resolution of the PS3 version to 720p and they should be fine - getting with the same textures/effects as PS4 at least 30fps. It's the same engine as MK9 (more less), so I don't see any huge challenges they'd need to overcome. Replacing textures and removing some effects would suck. MKX is looking so-so already as is - despite being a WIP build.

The thing is, replacing actual 3D stages with 2D pngs will cause minimal visible (if any) effect, but will save ALOT of resourses.

You meant replacing 3D objects in the background with 2D sprites, right? Well, yeah, it could. But I'd use it as a last resort. Go with the lowered resolution first.

Fighting games at 30 fps... heck no. I'd rather rip off my own balls. Nobody makes 30fps fighting games and for good reason.

I prefer better resolution. Or at least better characters quality.
I can live with full 2D stages (done right) in a 2D fighting game if this improve quality of characters/finishers.

PS3 probably won't be able to handle 1080 at 60fps. That's why I'm suggesting 720, which should be managable.

2D stages probably couldn't be interactive. Plus re-creating an entire 2D stage would likely be harder than just re-creating parts of it, which should suffice.

I said at least 30fps. Not 30fps locked. Implying that they might get even more out of it, between 40-50fps.

Fighting games pretty much have to play at 60fps. It's not a matter of being fussy. It's a matter of necessity. 40-50 isn't good enough; it has to be 60.

720p @ 60fps is more than enough for current gen consoles.

Keeping the game at 1080p would be detrimental, and tbh why the hell would they when most if not all current gen games run at 720p.

I'd like a Vita version too, that is if they do it sometime after the release on home consoles

I just can't see a Vita version happening.
MK9 looked like shit when it got ported from console to handheld.

But MKX getting downported to current gen, then getting downported AGAIN to Vita? That just seems like too much work.
