Maybe they won't bring Kung Lao back.
the whole way the story was presented in mk9 was stupid...it was so cheesy and cheap every ones dialog was cringe worthy

thank you, some one gets it...finally.
"woooaahhh cool blades, you gotta meet my agent!" - cage.
That is just gay, It would have been better if cage was bewildered by the encounter and was bought down a peg, realizing the dangerous situation he was in, manning up further to prove him self..but no, he had to remain a head....Nothing about mk9 felt dangerous or deadly...it was all happy go lucky

If we all agreed with everything 100% this would be a very boring place.

There's a difference between having an opinion, though, and acting as if your opinion is fact, as spader does.
Much more "people" get killed in Happy Tree Friends and yet I don't see it having any seriousness to it.
In fact HTF is what I think MK is becoming.
I'd even say the dismemberments and mutilation in HTF are much more believable than the ones in MK.
In HTF you don't see stuff like Sonya's fatality where she holds the enemy between her legs and when she spreads them, the guy is ripped in half, based on god knows what law of physics. Same thing for many other ones.
HTF at least has proper causation for most of the the carnage.
I'd say MK could learn a thing or two from it.
Superhuman strength could allow for such stuff, but there's no superpower that can explain this kind of shit.
^^It's Mortal Kombat...

Even though no one likes Mortal Kombat Armageddon, if I recall, Johnny Cage became serious when he realized how screwed everything was on Earthrealm. If I'm not mistaken, he gather the forces of light to go against Shinnok's forces after having visions of Shinnok and others. So I have to agree with someone changing over time. Johnny cage wasn't the same person since Mortal Kombat 1. Johnny Cage can be serious! He was serious before at some point.
BUt I think around the MK4 times, he was still egotistic. But he might of changed considering his lost was almost taken and he's one of the two survivors of Shao Kahn's invasion.
As for the Tone of MKX, I hope it's a dark feel! Not a horror, but a dark!
Suspension of disbelief doesn't equate to a full license to be downright stupid. It doesn't need to be explained.
Mortal Kombat has always been deeply rooted in magic / the surreal.
Just the same way that I can suspend belief for Scorpion's Toasty or Sub-Zero's Spine Rip, I can also suspend belief for Sony's terrible fatality.
MK was never rooted in realism, ever since day 1.
When was the last time you saw a four armed being walking around, uKER?
